Nokia E90 Communicator
Advantages: Web zoom, flip history, mSD slot, GPS & 3.2mp camera
Disadvantages: Price, price, no speel chqr, price, startup time and price
...Having recently reviewed the Nokia N810 internet tablet and discovered it is little more than an executive toy, I approached the E90 without any expectations. I'm glad to say that so far I have not found any unusual missing features. Yes unlike the N810 this device actually has a phone. And that's not all, there are even some productivity applications in the form of a simple word processor and spreadsheet.
From the outside the phone appears to be rather large by modern standards, with a standard keypad and a function panel above it. There's a power switch at the top right. There are two buttons on the right side of the device, one activates the instant sound recorder function (and I suspect voice dialling as well), while the other is used to take pictures when in camera mode. Strangely this button doesn't automatically activate...

Review of Nokia E90 Communicator

Dissapointing SONY DCR-SR90E
Advantages: Nice colours
Disadvantages: Hard to edit footage after, insufficient software supplied, problems with 5.1 surroundsound
...10 days ago I bought myself a SONY DCR-SR90E.
The internet and the seemingly knowledgeable salesman convinced me that it would be perfect for filming concerts, with good light sensitivity and wonderful sound.
Alas. It is all that, but it is a bit ahead of it's time. First thing I noticed after downloading the films is that WIndows Media Player, Quicktime and most others don't like surround-sound, the playback of the original roughs has massive interference. So I'd wanted to resort back to normal stereo, which the pc can handle. The camera does do stereo instead of the 5.1 surroundsound when the setting is on Easy Handycam. This is the setting for novices where you can't go wrong 'cause you can change nearly nothing. But if you need to film concerts at night, you may well need to change settings for the lighting etc. So you cannot be...

Nikon D90 - My Next 'Last' Camera
Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range
Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for
...that this was just a revamp of the newer D80, but now I see that it?s more an amalgam of some of the best features of Nikon?s ?pro? range, using the same sensor and lenses, whilst at the same time adding some interesting if gimmicky features, e.g. movie, albeit not of much use to me.
There?s a huge amount to learn, but mercifully, you can stick it on ?auto? from the first day and pick the rest up as you go along!
RECOMMENDED READING
Well of course there?s that manual, available as a PDF file should you want to read it in advance of taking the plunge. At 278 pages, it?s a bit daunting, although you do get a handy Quick Guide booklet to take away on your first holiday together!
I?ve also been reading The Nikon D90 Digital Field Guide by J.Dennis Thomas, and published by www.wiley.com. ISBN 978-0-470-44992-9.
My major regret is buying...

Review of Nikon D90

My experience of the Nikon D90 as an amateur photographer.
Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens
Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode
... How I made my choice
I recently bought the D90 to upgrade from my Olympus 560UZ bridge camera, so this is my first foray into DSLR photography. Most people starting in DSLR photography will opt for the cheaper D40, or the D60, D70 and D80. I am not particularly rich, and in the end chose the D90 because I didn't want to grow out of the smaller DSLR and have to buy a new body quickly. I have found that the prices of Nikon DSLRs haven't decreased significantly over the last 3 years, so I decided (maybe wrongly) that this option would save me money in the long run. I found that it is very important to go into a shop and hold the camera in your hands before making a choice. All the photography shop assistants said that the Canon series was just as good as the Nikons, but I discounted them because I didn't get on with the feel...

XC90 T6 Exec. MPV = More Please, Volvo!
Advantages: Most stylish 4X4, hugely roomy, very comfortable, good value for money
Disadvantages: Expensive second hand, needs bigger engine, may not fit your garage
...I am very much aware that my wife is by a long way NOT alone in being a fan of this particular car. A good couple of years after its launch Volvo still have a healthy waiting list for them. That means two things;
1) Volvo actually under-priced this car when they launched it and;
2) that of all the 4X4's on the market the XC90 makes by far the most sound financial sense, its' residual (second hand) value is second to none.
Volvo were undoubtedly surprised by the runaway success of their very first entry into the proper 4x4, or as the Americans would call it SUV, Sport Utility Vehicle, market. Sure, they had dabbled with four wheel drive versions of the V70 Estate, but this was a totally new departure for this ultra conservative Swedish firm. However with Fords financing and marketing know how, Volvo have powered from strength to...

Canon DCC-90 soft case... A FRAUD!
Advantages: Nice looking, lightweight, has belt loop too

Canon DCC-90 is the official soft case for the Canon camera models S2, S3 and S5. There isn't really too much to say about this soft case but I'll do my best.
I own a Canon digital camera S5 IS and since the size of this camera is quite weird (not as big as Reflex cameras but neither small enough to fit in common camera cases) I found very hard to find a proper case for it. What stopped me from buying the original case by Canon was it's price. As a matter of fact the cost is £14.55 at the lowest (on amazon.co.uk) while generally can be purchased around £17-25 everywhere else. Also I could hardly find any picture of it online and they are impossible to find in shops so I didn't really fancied spending such an amount of money for something I couldn't even see properly. **Description**
These are a great buy for any price, they come in red, grey or blue, they are made by the company, NIke. They are a ferm but comfortable pair of trainers that can be used on grass and Astro-Turf. The sole of the shoe have tiny, stud-like bumps on the bottom, they are especially made for Astro-Turf. The side, Nike tick on the side, with small 'total 90' written on the back of the side. The heel is grey, blue or red with another small Nike tick. The laces are grey, red or blue with a strip of the colour down the front. The tongue, it is the colour of the boot with small 'total 90' written on it.
