Covers many aspects of E-commerce 12 chapters starting with an overview and then covering, Sales & Marketing, Globalization, Company Profiles, Architecture, Commerce Servers, Vendor Solutions, Payment Systems, Security, Aution Technology,Project Deployment, Consortiums. A lot of work has clearly gone into this book and it is an excellent buy for anyone who like me knows little if anything about how E-commerce works. I bought the book to learn about e-commerce and to see how it could help my business. It has provided me with many ideas and a different approach to some of my business solutions. Great value, I wouldn't be without it....

The prices are very reasonable and they offer certain discounts with specific delivery arrangements. To date I have delivered several items from eBuyer, including wireless networking equipment and hardware to build a new computer. Another reason to support E-commerce

Advantages: Cheap, quick, reliable, secure!
Disadvantages: They only deal with Orange - but that isn't really a disadvantage!

...Almost a year ago, I gave in to the inevitable fact that life without a mobile phone is getting harder and harder and I joined Orange - the network coverage and talk plans seemed pretty much unlike any clichéd mobile network. So one of my friends suggested I take a look at smalltalk.co.uk Gladly, I visited the site and I was pleased to see how simple it all was - just like e-commerce should be! So I ordered my 3210e on everyday 50 for a mere 99p and connection, paid by switch and waited until the next day! At 7:30am the package arrived a la parcel force van, so bleary eyed, I signed for the package and went upstairs to play with my new toy. The phone and sim card were all set up and all I had to do was charge up the phone and get sending text messages and phoning friends. This is how shopping on the internet should be...

Great camera, great phone - get the software update.

Disadvantages: Early handsets need a software update to avoid bugs

...booting and having to pull the bettery out time and time again all day... I was gutted to say the least. I stuck with the second handset however (ahem - no choice!), and waited for a software update from Sony. There is one now on the Sony site and after downloading it a couple of weeks ago the phone was FIXED and has miraculously had NO repeats of the problems at all. The phone runs a lot faster and hasn't frozen or lost the sound once. Thanks Sony. Overall, an excellent phone with an excellent screen that takes excellent photos....

Just what you need for e-commerce

Advantages: powerful, easy to use, multi-platform, ideal for e-commerce

Infact those people moving over from a traditional prodramming language to ASP will find it a dream to use. It supports a large number of ODBC compliant databases (including MS Acces, SQL and MySQL) and alows you to do pretty much anything you want with them ( amd with only about 10 lines of code.) You can create records, delete recordss and run any sort of SQL statement you need. ASP is also very scalable as it supports custom components, so for all the programmers out there, if ASP doesn't do something you need, you can write some code to make it work for you. I believe this 'language' can be mastered within about 6 months and can be picked up in a matter of days ( I say this because I've been training someone...

Software Supreme, Physical Let Down.

Advantages: Versatile, nice design, internet facility, storage, large amount of features.
Disadvantages: Physical problems: buttons breaking/falling off, common shaker breaking probelm.

...become very annoying as this also seems to be a common error and friends have had to completely remove the buttons from the phone which destroys the look. Unfortunately this brings the rating of the phone down, as far as the software is concerned the phone is perfect it is only the physical problems that spoil the W850i....

...As part of my job I am working on Active Server Pages. I have taught myself most of what I know and rely heavily on books to assist me. Beginning E-Commerce is a great book for beginners and a good solid reference for those who may be more advanced in the subject. It is packed with example code but also uses SQL Server 7, MTS and Visual Basic to support what it is trying to achieve. This book won't anser all your questions - you will need Active Server Pages 3.0 by Wrox for the more complicated aspects of ASP, IIS and security issues. However - this book compliments the books I have collected over the year and I have found the contents invaluable. The only downer is there is no CD with source code, etc. so alot of typing is required if you want to run the examples. The plus is that Wrox opperate a Web site dedicated to their...

Free and Shareware Music software

Advantages: Lots of freeware and shareware
Disadvantages: The site is very popular and can be a bit slow at times

This is the best free music software site I know, I use several of the programs listed and can highly recommend them. Music software if divided into groups such as MP3, editors, sequencers etc, and further divided into Windows/Mac etc. which makes navigation extremely simple. The site is up-dated weekly and you can subscribe to a free email newsletter which list all of the new software listed on their site....
