Advantages: A very playable toy can do lots of things Disadvantages: Can get a little annoying
...When I was a child, I loved this film, it always made me cry. Now being an adult, i had to have one of these interactive toys. My mother bought me one for Christmas, and i am still playing with it, as much as i was, when i first got it.
About E.TE.T for those that do not know, stands for Extra-Terrestrial. This toy, looks just the same, as the one in the film. Very realistic.
E.T satnds 8 inches high, and he wears a red, zip up sweater, with a red hood. He has:
*A light sensor, on his chest.
*A sound sensor, on his right side.
*An extendable neck.
*Moving eyes and mouth.
*A light up finger tip.
*A touch sensor on his head, and both hands.
E.T is battery operated. He requires 4 aa batteries. Instalation is easy. On the underneath of E.T, you will find a panel, being held down, with one screw. Loosen this screw...
Advantages: Brilant acting by everyone. Good family film. Disadvantages: cry alot.
...I remember being taken to see this when i was a little girl, for my sixth birthday with a friend.
I cried my heart out through out and i still do at times when i watch it. I want to let my kids watch it as it is a classic thta every child should watch.
This story is about an alien called E.T, who gets left behind on earth by his botanist parents. Who have been here on a scientific study to pick some plants up from here.
He befriends a young boy Elliot and his sister Gertie and his older brother finds out about Et. There is also a man you see looking for ET aswell, that is callled keys as that is what you hear rattling all the time.
Elliot and Gertie try and help E.T communicate his family by using their speak and spell machine and a old record player and an umbrella. It must work as they eventually come back at the end of the film...

Review of E.T.
Advantages: Great family entertainment Disadvantages: none
...ET directed by Steven Speilberg is a beautiful fantasy film about a boy who befriends an alien. The film revolves round three children Elliot played by Henry Thomas his older brother Michael ( Robert MacNaughton) and his kid sister Gertie played superbly by Drew Barrymore who live with mother Mary (Dee Wallace) who is currently in the middle of divorce proceedings.
Elliot is a quiet lonely child who is thrilled to make a new friend in an alien he discovers in his back garden. He names his new friend “ET” after Extra-terrestrial and quickly smuggles him into his bedroom swearing his siblings to secrecy and so the adventure begins.
It is not long before “ET” starts to communicate and they realise he has become stranded on earth and desperately wants to contact the mother ship and return home. There are some...

Review of E.T.
Advantages: A great fantasy adventure score with a lots of rich lyricism. Disadvantages: A bad reputation for being saccharine.
...When Close Encounters came out in 1977, it was quite revolutionary in many aspects, the most remarkable being of course that the film's aliens were not some blood-thirsty monsters come to destroy humanity like it had often been in Grade-Z sci-fi movies of the past. Having stayed out of the sci-fi genre for the couple of following films, he decided to return to the alien genre in 1982 with E.T. - The Extra Terrestial, which can be seen as a sequel of sorts to the basic philosophy of Close Encounters, only taking the encounter a step beyond in making the aliens less frightening and enigmatic via more heart-warming and sympathetic. The basic story pretty much concerns an alien, who was accidentally left behind on Earth during a research mission, when their party was attacked by the shady people from the U.S. Government (who remain very much...
Advantages: Brilliant A time classic Disadvantages: none its brilliant
...Well this week I went out to ASDA and while looking at there somewhat wide DVD collection I cam upon E.T and to top it all off its Special Edition.
I took it to the till instantly and paid for it then left to store to go home. When arriving home I read the back of the DVD and then placed one of the two disk special edition DVD into the DVD player. From then on I was trapped into the wonder charm of E.T which still is as good as it ever was. The movie has remastered which makes it even better. E.T was released on June 11th 1982 which makes this classic now 23 years old.
For those of you who do not know of E.T or have never watched it. Then here's a little information E.T is a small lost alien who comes to earth and is found by a young boy who takes him home to look after him although his brother and sister's are at first terrified...

...No matter how much BT would like you to think of ET as their personal mascot, stealing the little guy as their own and turning John Williams' miraculous score into a telecommunications jingle, it hasn't worked. E.T : The Extra-Terrestrial is a movie which can stand up to more than just a few cheap phone adverts, and indeed, through the years it has stood up to everything from plastic frisbees to children's underwear. And now, 20 years on, ET comes back to the big screen where he belongs....
The little pink guy returns, thank God, not in a sequel (Steven Spielberg has more sense than that) but in the form of a "Special Edition", a craze started by George Lucas in 1997 with his re-releases of the Star Wars trilogy. Basically what this means is that the film has been re- jigged just slightly, in this case in celebration of ET's 20th...

Review of E.T.
Advantages: Great show/Great cast Disadvantages: A few bad seasons/episodes
...was expecting brilliance and wasn't disappointed. The first half of the season was brilliant, as Jennifer Garner's pregnancy was written into the show, however it went down hill. The ending was awful, I think J.J Abrams and the writers went through all of the characters, put them into a hat and just said, I'm gonna kill this one and this one, and this one. It should have ended differently.
Fun Stuff
The show has also been great for some brilliant one liners. One of the many being in the first season when Sydney is tortured, she pretends to finally give in and tells the man to write down what she's about to say. "Write this down. E.M.E.T.I.B, got it, now reverse it" I think this became one of my favourite msn names as well that I used.
Some of the best outtakes of any series I've ever watched were on the season 1 & 2 box set...
Advantages: You may become famous! Disadvantages: None really
...If you've read my opinion about conspiracy theories the then you'll already know this bit so you can skip to the bit when you see the Rudolph....
On April 23rd I attended a lecture by Dr. Ian Morrison from Jodrell Bank. He came to my college for the astronomy society to talk about the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence.
This is why I thought I'd come back and update this opinion with bits you don't already know.
}:o)
(P.S. that was Rudolph!)
If you've not yet heard about SETI's scheme to track down E.T. then you're about to...!
SETI, or the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, is a scientific effort aiming to determine if there is intelligent life out in the universe. There are many methods that the SETI scientific teams use to search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Many of these search...
...E.T. is a family film from the 1980's that sends you laughing and crying. It is about an alien coming down to earth after his space ship crash landed, and a boy named Elliott takes him into the house and looks after him. His family discovers the alien and the smallest girl (played by actress Drew Barrymore at a young age!) screams her head off when she finds out! The film becomes quite upsetting when they are taken into quarantine and E.T. is pronounced dead... but, as always, the film ends happily....

Review of E.T.
..., answerphone, silent mode indictor and roaming indicators. They are all very easy to see. The next two indicators show if you are registered to your network and the reception your phone is receiving at present. I have to say that the reception is excellent. It is a 4 segment display and the reception is nearly always at 3 or 4.
It can store up to 90 names and numbers on the Sim Card and you can voicedial up to 10 people. The voicedial is superb and means E.T. could simply press up on the compass key for 3 seconds them say "Home" and it will start calling. This is excellent because it saves you going through loads of numbers or searching for the one you want. As well as this you can set up 8 speed dial numbers meaning you just have to press a number between 2 and 9 for a few seconds to make a call. I have found that I can have 10 messages stored...
