My other half
Review of Basset's Jelly Babies by
kingjb
Advantages: tastes great, lots of flavours and makes you happy!
Disadvantages: addictive
...*-*-*Bassetts Jelly babies*-*-*
Jelly babies are my favourite types of sweets! Cola bottles being second and in a close third skittles.
The best thing about the Bassetts JB's are that they always have the same dam good quailty about them, juicy and refreshing... although sometimes they can be covered by a bit too much iceing suger, i think this just adds to the pleasure of devouring this innocent but naughty lil jelly babyies!
Bassetts originally started making these babyies to celebrate the end of the the first world war and were named Bassetts Peace Babies and in 1953 changed to the name we all know and love.
Just some extra information in case you want it,
it has per 100g
~1425 kj / 335 Kcal per bag
~4.0 g of Protein
~79.5g of carbohydrates
The one bad thing about JB's is that it does have kits of E numbers
~E150d
~E120
~E132...

essential iols and alcool
Review of Listerine Cool Citrus Antiseptic Mouthwash by
lovefairy
Advantages: Good taste, fresh breath to along, antibacterial action
Disadvantages: Elevated price, alcool presence
....
An intense color orange rendered it particularly good, nearly from drink!
LISTERINE COOL CITRUS is a very good mouthwash, with a delicate taste of orange. Regarding similar products, it particularly strongly has a taste, merit of the essential oils of which it is composed. We say that it is the mouthwash with the more intense taste and good never tried before now.
The taste is a little bit sweet, but naturally type of sugar or sweeter is any absent (at least creed, even if famous a "alarming Sucralose" between the ingredients) while they are present mint, sorbito it and eucaliptolo. Used coloring is the E120.
Advisable E' to rinse 1-2 times to the day, for approximately 30 second ones, in order to prevent bad breath and above all in order to vanquish the responsible bacteria of the plate and of disturbs of gum. Beyond that of the bad breath...

Sony Handycam HDR-SR12E (120GB)
Review of Sony Handycam HDR-SR12E by
edjones36
Advantages: Excellent video and stills quality, Large 3.2-inch panoramic screen, Sufficient manual controls
Disadvantages: No wind filter, No HDI cable supplied
...I managed to get one of these on test and I must say it was an excellent piece of kit.
The picture quality of the video was excellent and so was the performance, as for the still photos, very impressive for a camcorder.
There are also sufficient manual settings, so if you’re like me you'll have plenty to play around with. However, you will have to use the 3.2-inch touch screen to get to some important functions, which can be an annoying way to use a camcorder.
The high capacity HDD allow you to save hours upon hours of full 1080 HD video
The large 3.2 - panoramic screen is of good size but the screen is still fingerprint prone. The fingerprints can be distracting at times when recording.
If you're in the market for a hard-drive-based high-definition camcorder, you won't go wrong with one of these Sonys. If 120GB is too much...

E numbers, the hidden 'nasty' in our foods...
Review of E Numbers by
dizzymonkey
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
..., however a lot of them have been banned from use in many countries. Allergic reactions are a common effect of E numbers however some people experience gastric problems with some E numbers (including Sorbitol- a sweetner- E420.)and others are unsuitable for lactose intolerant children and a few should be avoided by asthmatics ( E441-gelatine-gelling agent and emulsifier.)
Many E numbers have been linked to scientific research connecting hyperactivity in children to the food that they consume, including the following;
E120- Tartrazine , E104-Quinoline Yellow, E110-Sunset Yellow, E120-Cochineal/Carminic Acid, E122-Carmoisine/Azorubine, E123-Amaranth, E124-Ponceau 4R, E127-Erythrosine BS, E131- Patent Blue V, E132-Indigo Carmine, E153-Carbon Black, E210-Benzoic acid.
Other effects include haedaches and intestine upset as well as skin...

ooooohhhhhhhhh chocolate !
Review of Smarties Mini Eggs by
robjak
Advantages: sooooo good !
Disadvantages: sooooo many calories.
...they are a milk chocolate shell, filled with a chocolate flavour whipped centre with mini smarties mixed in.
A very good description but it doesnt tell you how when you bite into it you first experience the crispness of the chocolate shell, then the softness of the whipped chocolate centre, then the suprise when your mouth finds a mini smartie.
So many sensations in one mouthful !
It costs around 38p each, and is the similar size of a cadbury's creme egg.
Some shops such as woolies and Premier Stores are selling them at a special price of three for 99p at the moment of writing this.
There are rather alot of e-numbers in these sweets, but then perhaps thats why they taste so good !
E172, E171, E104, E124, E122, E133,E120, E110.
Each egg provides :
Energy -646kj
155 kcal
Protein -1.6g
Carbohydrate -15.5g

I want to tell you a story
Review of Liquorice Allsorts by
weemam
Advantages: are nice
Disadvantages: are too nice
...Bassett’s Liquorice Allsorts
I want to tell you a story (do I sound like Max Bygraves) . When my son Ross was wee (he has CP as I’m sure you all know by now) His speech was a bit hard to understand. But, he loved to go out to the Ice-cream Man to buy his own sweets. He was trying hard and with no success to say Liquorice Allsorts. After being asked a few times. Sorry Ross I don’t quite know what you want! Ross with much Emphasis said LICK-YOUR- A**E -ALL-SORTS. He was promptly given the sweets and was a very proud wee boy. We all joke about it to this day.
Now before my poem the important bits.
Bassett’s liquorice Allsorts come in different sizes of bags I usually buy the 225grms bag which costs about 80p.in 100grms there is about 344cal 3.6% fat and E150 E150d. E120. E132. E160e. E106. E171 so if you have...

A Little Bit Of Magic In Every Wand
Review of Harry Potter Liquorice Wands by
tazmac25
Advantages: Available in 4 packs
Disadvantages: Warning - contains nut traces
...the liquorice but that doesnt mean its hard to chew, in fact, just the opposite. They really are quite addictive from the first bite and all to soon the tube is empty - oh well better start another one as they are only 26g so they aren't too big to have a second.
The ingredients give no clue to the fruit flavour but please be warned they do contain hazelnut traces so for the nut allergy people out they these are not for you. This should be highlighted better in my opinion and not at the very end of the ingrediants but I guess if you have an allergy you do check everything.
The ingredients are as follows -
Sugar, wheat flour, hydronatated vegetable fat, molasses, glucose syrup, skimmed milk powder, liquorice extract, Colours - E153,E120,E132 Flavourings - Emulsifier (soya lecithin) acidity regulator, (citric acid) (traces hazelnut)
I do hate them...
