Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s
Review of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 Tyre by
Hsaxo
Advantages: Lots of grip, good in all conditions including wet and dry
Disadvantages: Slightly pricey, Can pull car around a bit on rough road
...I purchased some Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for my Citroen Saxo VTS around about November time last year after being recommend them on various car discussion forums, by people who use their cars for both road and track driving, I had never tried the Goodyear brand before this so thought I would see what they were like on my Citroen Saxo VTS it wasn't really needing new tyres at the time but I wanted a high performance brand tyre to suit my driving needs. I never though of Goodyear as on of the leading brands but now I have tried these I feel they are on their way up in the world of tyres and I will now be a returning customer of theirs for all of the cars I own.
4 months on I could not be any happier with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres and will definitely be using this brand or another Goodyear manufactured performance tyre if this product...

Michelin Paylot for poor quality
Review of Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 Tire by
almarsden
Advantages: Cheap and excellent grip when new
Disadvantages: Grip isn't as good when the tyres are older
...later) the tyres still had about 3-4mm tread left so the wear rate was very good.
It may be that these tyres are meant for summer only despite michelin saying they are an all round tyre.
As a performance tyre I wouldn't buy them again i'd go for some Eagle F1's instead.
I hope this review is of some help to people looking for these tyres.

Bella Alfa Romeo
Review of Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Twin Spark Lusso 5dr by
mikegipson
Advantages: Great to drive and look at. Reliable and well built.
Disadvantages: Insurance can be pricey with some companies.
...Well I purchased the 147 2.0 Lusso last July (2003), brand new, from one of the many car supermarkets. It was just £13500 and has everything from the 17" supersports Alloys to Leather interior, sunroof as well as the comfort pact and winter pack. I saved around £6000 on the UK retail price and therefore should protect myself from any early depreciation.
Should you buy this car? Well YES it drives like it is on rails and the ride is still smooth considering it's on the wide 17" low profile tyres. Mine came with Goodyear F1 Eagle tyre which give excellent grip. I have had no problems and the first 12000mile service was done by my Alfa dealer in Amersham for a very reasonable £150. Average fuel consumption is 33-35MPG. It holds a decent amount in the boot, as shown by a recent holiday with the Inlaws and in our previous 1.6Lusso (which...

FST AUTOMOTIVE FORD SPECIALIST SCUNTHORPE
Review of Ford by
NICKP1979
Advantages: FAST SERVICE QUALITY SERVICE QUALITY PRODUCTS HELPFULL
Disadvantages: NONE
...Today after finding out my local ford dealer is near useless on every level I found out why!
It would seem that any of there staff with anything about them have left and joined a company on East Common Lane in Scunthorpe called FST AUTOMOTIVE.
This is as I was told a new company mainly catering for ford and I have to say the service is exceptional
These guys really know what there doing with there Fords and I have since found out they have Ford trained mechanics on site.
I own a 2005 Ford Mondeo ST and I wanted a pair of wiper blades, oil & filter change & a pair of front tyres.
The guys at FST Automotive really looked after me and the oil & filter change only cost me £35.00 a price that I thought was very very reasonable.
The wipers cost £15.00 for the front pair and my tyres cost just over £210 for a pair of Goodyear eagle f1 225...

Let the Tyre War Commence
Review of Formula 1 in General by
ab12dh
Advantages: Great opening for a new element of rivalry.
Disadvantages: The grooves.
...For two years Bridgestone have ruled the roost as the teams' sole tyre supplier, but now their cosy monopoly is about to be put to the test by F1 returnee Michelin. Yes that's right Michelin is back, and all for the better in my opinion, the more the competition the better. An extra rivalry element in the teams is just the kind of competition F1 needs.
The World Champions are sticking with Bridgestone, but not all of the pack have followed suit, Williams, Benetton, Jaguar and Prost have all gone with Michelin, which opens up a whole new 'mid-field' battle, but who knows with Benetton having a Renault Engine this season maybe there will be changes further up the field too.
Although having a rivalry between tyre suppliers, the effect on F1 won't be overly apparent. F1 has moved on so much in the past years that tyre manufacturers develop...

Safety of F1
Review of Safety of Formula 1 by
97chamberst
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...On the 10 of September 2000 a the first death in F1 took place in Monza, Italy. Fire Marshall Paolo Ghislimberti was tragically killed when a tyre from a jordon struck him on the head.
Blame for the accident has been firmly blamed on Heinz Harold Frenzen
for the accident by Rubens Barrichello but Race Stewards passed it as a racing accident.
The tradgic death of Paolo Ghislimberti is the first death in the world pf formula 1 since May 1st 1994 when Aryton Senna was tragicaly killed in San Marino in Italy.
A new regulation for the 2000 season was a system that keeps wheels from parting with the car. This had obivously failed and parted from the car killing the marshall.
But it was a complement to the design and the safty on the cars them selves that no drivers where killed in the major accident.
The world of formula 1 will have to re...

Genius on the track, wimp off the track
Review of Michael Schumacher by
rpang
Advantages: Genius, aware of everything going on
Disadvantages: Lacks the courage of drivers gone by, just like everybody else
...Don't you think that Michael Schumacher is one of the smartest Formula One drivers ever?
In the Belgian Grad Prix, did you notice the way he cooled his slick tyres on the wet part of the track, knowing that his tyres would wear off before Hakkinen's, due to the earlier pit stop and the harshness of the Ferrari on tyres?
Also, the first time he blocked Hakkinen, did you notice that he left just under one car width's room for Hakkinen to fly down on the inside, tempting Hakkinen to put a wheel onto the grass? This driver is aware of everything, which showed through when he let his team mate through in an earlier grandprix while blocking his brother.
However, he has far too much say in F1, and his call for the Spa Grand Prix to be started behind a safety car was a very cowardly call. Today's grand prix drivers lack the bravery and courage...

Rushed. And It Shows.
Review of F1 2000 (PC) by
SkyscraperFanClub
Advantages: 2000 Season.
Disadvantages: Unplayable, graphically poor and inefficient, inaccurate data, dubious physics, no longevity.
.... The game is ugly on the Playstation, and the 3D engine on the PC version is so inefficient that a PC of biblical proportions is required to draw relatively simple tracks. The sound effects are unimpressive across the board: Engines, impacts noise and tyre squeals sound false and out of proportion.
‘F1-2000’ was clearly rushed to sell loads of copies by being the first F1 game to feature the new seasons’ data. The whole game engine and mechanism needs vast improvement before it can rival the likes of ‘Grand Prix 3’ and ‘Grand Prix Legends’....

Excellent service
Review of Eagle Star Insurance Co Ltd by
ts2001
Advantages: Excellent service
Disadvantages: None
...3 years ago, my car which was insured with Eagle Star was written off thanks to a white van from a Ford dealership (with front bald tyres) running into the back of me whilst I was in slow moving traffic. Eagle Star were informed and quickly arranged a valuation which was far more than I expected as I covered 122000 miles. We pay the price you would have to pay, not the trade in value, was the comment from the valuer.
This was only the beginning. I then ordered a brand new car but there was a 12 week wait. Fortunately the Peugeot dealer lent me a car foc as they thought it would be at most four weeks. Anyway to move back to Eagle Star.
I took delivery of the new car but four days later it was stolen off my drive. I could not believe it. I returned to the Peugeot dealer and he lent me another car foc. Three weeks later Eagle Star gave...

Fantastic Simulation, But GP3 is much better!
Review of Grand Prix 2 (PC) by
fiisch
Advantages: Good fun for the enthusiast creating endless hours of fun.
Disadvantages: The recent release of GP3 outclasses it by a long way as well as the omision of weathering effects in GP2
...GP2 is very good for the F1 enthusiast. If you are looking for an Arcade-type racing game then look elsewhere. To win on this game you must setup your car, hone your driving skills and watch those tyres and fuel gauge as did Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneurve to name but a view who have won the priveleged title of F1 World Champion.
It is a shame that weather effects were not included in the game although this is a small fault. If you are an F1 enthusiast you can enjoy endless hours of fun speeding round tracks although the recent release of GP3 tops GP2 by a long way.
Grand Prix 3 includes weathering effects as well as having all the 1998 drivers and teams and fantastic crashes and racing action.
However, to experience the full benefits of GP3, the buying of a steering wheel is a must!!!...
