A Great DIGITAL Pregnancy Test!

...I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2 test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all. I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. ...most pregnancy tests available on the market these days do exactly the same as each other it is just that you pay a lot more for testers that tell you in words that you are pregnant or tell you that you are so many days pregnant, this in my opinion is a total waste of money when they all do the same job which is basically testing for an increase in a hormone in your urine, after all why pay £15 for a stick you are going to piddle on and throw away when you can get a very similar stick from your chemist for around £1 for a pack of two or 3 and are the exact same ones used by the nurse at your doctors surgery. Read your instructions on your pack carefuly as the timing on different tests is different but the basics are still the same, you need to test after the first day that your period was due as this is the earliest time that most...

Review of Pregnancy tests in general

After 15 tests... i got a result!

Advantages: Clear blue was clear to read
Disadvantages: it is more expensive

...and hey presto within 3 minutes of looking at an Egg timer icon we were staring at the word 'PREGNANT' on the LCD screen. What a lovely Christmas present. The Clear Blue digital test said on the box that it could detect pregnancy as early as 4 days before the period was expected, although there was fine print to say that this wasn't in all cases. Of all the tests I tried it was the only one that gave me a definite result so early. In the following week I tried another Asda test and got a great positive, but it just shows that many tests just don't pick up enough hormone to detect a very early pregnancy. In all cases I did hold the absorbent stick in the stream for at least 5 seconds, but the HCG levels in my wee were obviously not strong enough for the tests. Am I or Aren't I?

Advantages: Can be used 4 days before period is due, easy to read.
Disadvantages: Can be hard to open outside wrap.

Boots pregnancy test - very quick & accurate

Advantages: Easy to use, accurate, cheap

...These modern tests are done in exactly the same way as it would be if you'd had gone to your doctors - except now you can do it in the privacy of your own home and you don't have to wait weeks to find out the result! Perfect! I've never done a test until 11 weeks ago and I was so very nervous about doing a test for the first time. Especially as we'd planned a baby... just not this soon! The boots pregnancy test gave me an accurate result in just a few seconds. I actually took a second one just to be on the safe side. It too was positive, it couldn't be wrong! A scan 5 weeks later confirmed this. Also for some women that want to use the pregnancy test in their pregnancy scrapbook/diary the result doesn't fade! Review of Boots Pregnancy Test Kit

Its not an early detection test!

Advantages: Incredibly cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: not all reliable

...When i thought that i was pregnant i used this pregnancy test 4 times, and each time it came back negative, even though i was actual pregnant! It says early detection but it only works if you are more than 2 months pregnant. In my opinion its not really ideal but it is cheap! The pregnancy test was very easy to use, the only down side is that you had to use a cup to place the applicator in urine as it did not supply one. All that comes in the pregnancy test is one applicator so for easyness of use i would definatly give it ten out of ten! Obviously it wasnt accurate only 2 months after i was pregnant. But when i took the pregnancy test after 2 months it came back positive which is a good sign! The reason i bought this product is because i wasnt prepared to pay alot of money for something if i was unsure of them working...

...My hubby is a technology person, so finding a digital pregnancy test seemed perfect to appeal to him. It also felt more professional to me. We bought this test for the added accuracy. It also had the added bonus of being a renowned brand. The test can be bought in single, twin or triple packs. They work out much cheaper the more you buy. A second test is always necessary in case something goes wrong or you cannot believe your results. Each pack comes with a digital reader and test sticks (1, 2 or 3 depending on pack purchased). It also has a leaflet with easy to follow instructions. However, as anyone doing a test, being eager to see the results you skim through the leaflet. With this test don't. It may invalidate your test. The tests are fiddly. You have to put in the test strip, then wait for it to light up, then start...
