Of course this was thrilling! Who was Reg Cox? Who were all these people?! We had so much to learn! Eastenders was a new and exciting show for the BBC which we could sink our teeth into, really connect with the characters! Eastenders is filmed at Elstree Centre down in Herts, along with many other top BBC programmes. Many things attract us to the show, such as the Theme Tune, composed by Simon May. Eastenders easing off

Advantages: do not know hat to say honesty
Disadvantages: always the same not enough variety, there are so many characters leaving and new one entering,

...Eastender, one of the biggest if not the Uk biggest soap opera and it seems that the national cannot get enough of this show. the thing that bothers we with this soap is that they alway seems to repeat their storyline (am sorry all the eastenders fan) or copy something from another soap. ok, take this for e.g. in emerdale there was a storyline in which victoria sugden fell in a pond at home farm, eastenders then went and used the same storyline. also all the falling down the stairs issues what is really up with that, quite a while back laura was running when she fell down the stairs and died, janine was then arrested for murder, then came max and tanya although tanya didn't die it's pretty much the same thing, even when all the slaters ladies was in the soap you saw all that too. then again there's hardly any more orginality...

Advantages: Gripping storylines
Disadvantages: None that I can think of unless Cockney accents pose a problem for you!!

...What is Eastenders?! If you don't know where have you been for the past eighteen years?! Eastenders is a BBC1 soap set in a fictional London town called Walford. You can catch it on Monday and Friday nights at 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7.30pm but if you miss the earlier screenings you can catch them again on BBC3 at 10 pm and the omnibus takes up most of BBC1's Sunday afternoon viewing time!!! Eastenders

Advantages: Addictive, something to talk about

...Eastenders is one of Britain most famous soap operas. Basically it features the lives of the residents of the imaginary Albert Square in London. For those that don’t know it is on four times a week(Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) for half an hour, with an omnibus on Sunday. In addition there are always repeats on UK Gold One of the main reasons to watch Eastenders is what the adverts used to say. Namely that everyone is talking about it. It is very much part of British culture. Part of the reasons is that the various characters deal with problems that we face in contemporary society; drugs, aids, alienation, family trauma, love, divorce, etc. The acting in Eastenders is generally of a good standard. This is impressive when you consider the sheer amount of work that they have to produce in a week. There are no seasons...

...Welcome to my review of one of Britain?s top soaps, Eastenders. (Edited 26/07/2007) Eastenders has been around since 1985. It was originally screened as two half-hour shows a week, but now it is on for four half-hour shows a week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Sometimes, being on for an hour during big storylines. There are loads of characters which has come and gone and some being forever remembered. Here is an updated Cast list of some of Britain?s most loveable or hated families. The Beales. Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), has been in the show since the beginning. He is an Entrepreneur who'd sell his own granny if it meant he'd have more money. Ian is currently engaged to Jane Collins (Laurie Brett). A (Not So) Brief History of Eastenders

...Can it really be almost twenty years since Eastenders hit our screens? Twenty years of murders, affairs, fights and laughs. I for one remember the first scene as if it were yesterday; Den Watts, Arthur Fowler and Ali Osman kicking down the door of Reg Coxes bed-sit with Den uttering the first words in the BBC Soap, ?Cor, stinks in ere?, as they discover Reg dead in his chair. Eastenders~~~~~ get outta my pub!!

Advantages: Raises awarness, shown daily
Disadvantages: can get a bit tedious

...Eastenders was first broadcast on February 19th 1985, it is set in the fictional place of walford in East London but it's main focus is on the residents of fictional Albert Square. EastEnders is filmed at the BBC Television Studios at Elstree in Hertfordshire. Filming can be watched on www.bbc.co.uk/eastender and click on webcam. It's there you will see Albert square, George Street and Turpin Road, even though I watch it on the telly it still seems a bit surreal to see it all via webcam!! All the characters are part of their own families for example; The Mitchells, The Slaters, The Beales, and so on. Eastenders - I love it

Advantages: An easy to watch soap

...I must comment on Eastenders. We are a soap watching family and I can never understand comments from people who say this show is depressing. We find many of the characters really funny in the soap, Barry has given us many a laugh over the years, although at the moment he needs to be throttled for the way he is treating Pat. I'm sure his time will come! Ian has us in hysterics time after time, and his latest spats with Laura have been brilliant, it's the look on his face and the sarcasm that has has falling about with laughter. Now Mark has gone the Square is a brighter place all round. His acting was so wooden it was untrue. If they only could get rid of Babs, the Square would be perfect. I have never liked that woman since I read her autobiography, amazing how reading about a person can change your whole opinion of them...

...I don?t really know why I am writing this op as there surely can't be many people who don?t know what Eastenders is...but for those of you who don?t or for those of you that just fancy a trip down memory lane then here you go. What is it and when is it on? -------------------------------------- Firstly, Eastenders is an English Soap Opera shown on BBC1. It used to be broadcast in many other countries including the US but just recently it was axed from BBC America. The show is broadcast on Mondays (8pm), Tuesdays(7.30pm), Thursdays(7.30pm) and Fridays(8pm) and there is also an omnibus shown on Sundays (think this is usually around 2.30pm) just in case you missed an episode or you aren't able to watch it during the week. For those of you who have digital TV or SKY, Eastenders is repeated the same night on BBC Choice (10pm), again...
