Packard Bell EasyNote R8760
Advantages: Very quick processor, large memory, all mod cons
Disadvantages: As with anything too technical they tend to have glitches
..., the disk drive. As soon as I mentioned the problem he asked me had I got iTunes downloaded onto my computer, I had, because there was a problem with these computers and iTunes. Well I don't even use iTunes, don't know why I downloaded it really. So I uninstalled and sure enough the disk drive came back! Brilliant! Next I listed all the smaller problems and each one only needed for me to download the latest drivers from the Packard Bell website which sorted all the problems. So all in all I didn't have to send my laptop away which would have been a major inconvenience, and the people on the end of the phone were really friendly and helpful. They even talked me through how to uninstall iTunes from the registry in easy to understand lingo! To conclude I have been very pleased with everything to do with this laptop and would highly recommend them to...

EasyNote E6 - The students' choice
Advantages: Cost, Style, Upkeep
Disadvantages: None so far
...My Experiences?
The first and last laptop that I used was the Packard Bell EasyNote E6. My memories of this product are pleasant ones, never did I have abnormal technical problems or faults and it ran as smooth as a skate on ice. I had it for a year and I re-installed Windows XP professional only once due to a self induced predicament. Disregarding the system that runs on the E6 the laptop itself is technically stable and robust, though structurally I have experienced minor, hair-line fracture along the right hand hinge of the lid. However I put this down to a rather rough-and-tumble lifestyle with the military; any orthodox, residential use wouldn't do ANY harm, I'm sure.
Design?
The sleek, slender structure of the EasyNote E6 makes for a vastly ergonomic and attractive product. Its body is a mere 3.6cm (1.25inch) thick...

Easy Note... Sometimes.
Advantages: Easy to use, lightweight, compact.
Disadvantages: Prone to crashes, overheating, mild lag.
...very good with gaming, of course, it's not the absolute best, but it is very good, with almost no lag with few games, and even numerous installations have not caused it to slow down.
I do not recommend ever turning the laptop upside-down so that the heavy weight is rest of the screen as it has caused several lines of dead pixels which are a dead nuisance when trying to write or play games, it makes it difficult to accurately read a word or two.
All in all, I'd say, yes, this is a good laptop if you are looking for just that - a laptop. If you are looking for something which you can create powerpoints on, be prepared for extra cost. It would make a great first laptop to anyone who is willing to learn more, and it does do as it's name suggests, it is 'Easy' to use with clear instructions and directions from the first setup....

Packard Bell easynotes SW-51
Advantages: Large 17" glossy display, Numeric keypad
Disadvantages: No Serial or Parralell ports
...The Packard Bell easynote Laptop PC is a very nice looking machine with it's wide screen aspect 17 inch display giving room for a full sized keyboard with numeric keypad to the right hand side. the screen is of the glossy type and make using this machine a delight offing good contrast between light and dark area's in the display. It does not have a Floppy drive but these are not used much today anyway other lacking things are external ports, there is no serial or parralell ports although there are 4 hi-speed usb port 2 on the right rear and 2 on the right side, there is VGA output on the left and SVHS outputs on the rear, also a built in modem and Ethernet connection both at the left side of the machine. it has a DVD/cd writer and a large 'mouse pad' with easy to use left and right buttons as you would expect the mouse pad can also...

EasyNote AthlonXP 2400
Advantages: Price, Looks, Screen
Disadvantages: Bundled Software Annoying
...Having failed to source one of the new Toshibas for our office (on a budget!), we headed to PC World (arghhh)to see what they had to offer. We desperately needed a laptop for a presentation the next day, so had to come away with one. As usual, of the umpteen sub £1000 laptops on offer, the Packard Bell was the only one in stock. It was our fifth choice, so we resented it before we had even taken it out of the box.
Straight out of the box, it didn't do itself any favours either. The software pre-installed on the machine trys to create an un-quitable array of windows, forcing you to register details and join this and that. I lasted about 5 minutes through the 'Welcome' before an XP Pro disk went in the CD drive and I did a fresh install (without any problems, except for the touchpad software which has disappeared (probably on included...

The Easynote friend.
Advantages: Great price, great quality, great value!
Disadvantages: Short battery life.
...I bought the packard bell easynote about fifteen months ago and i haven't had many problems at all. The first reason i bought it was that it had a lovely design and i wasn't overly fussed about it's running speed, although it is fine when i am only using a couple of programs at the same time. The second was that it was very well priced for it's quality and it had everything i needed asi already had a fully functional destop computer, this laptop was perfect for my needs.
The laptops appearance - It had a silver covering with the packard bell logo centered on the top and another underneath the screen on the inside. The keyboard was black and rectangular and the mouse pad was an oval shape, with the two click buttons coming down around it getting wider at the bottom, it also had a mini scroll area at the side. When it is closed, it is...

Packard Bell EasyNote GN45-032 Skype edition
Advantages: Great little laptop with lots of useful features
Disadvantages: The disk drive stopped working, but still in warenty
...The laptop that I am reviewing is very slightly different to the one featured, as it is the packard bell easynote GN45-032, although the only real difference is that my laptop has a 160GB memory compared to the GN45-P-050 which has 80GB, mine did not come with vista loaded, but have since loaded it and my laptop is a skype edition which basically means that it has a button next to the camera which takes you straight to skype, which is a programme which allows the user to make free video internet phone calls to anyone anywhere in the world.

Easynote, Easy to use!!
Advantages: Reliable, comes with Powercinema, Windows XP, Media Player
Disadvantages: Doesn't come with Microsoft Office but don't think the smaller models do
...Intro
My Packard Bell EasyNote Computer is my salvation, it's the place where I check my e-mail, check my accounts, download my music and I also take it into work with me and of course where I go to Ciao and read all the fab reviews that everyone writes and where I get to write my reviews. I love it!!
First of all a bit about the computer........
It comes with 512 MB Ram and Windows XP Home Edition. The Display screen is 15.4 inches. The Storage Hard Drive / Capacity is 60 GB and the Display (Projector) / Max Resolution is 1280 x 800.
How I came to buy this particular model.............
This is my first purchase of a laptop and as I don't profess to know a great deal about what to look for in a computer (even though I use one everyday in work) I was kind of at a loss of what to look for. I purchased mine at Currys as I...

Packard Bell Multimedia HD (revised)
Advantages: Very useful product, quiet and well made
Disadvantages: few and very irrelevant
...pictures and music, why not) stored on one single hard disk which is easily plugged to the TV, remote controllable and easy to use.
When I saw this 500GB Packard Bell I pulled out my wallet imediately. It was a little pricey (169 euro, about £150, in offer from 189 euro) but well worth it. It has all the latest codec (including DivX 6) and plays almost everything.
It was a bit of a blind purchase because no one ever reviewed this product anywhere but gladly I didn't regret it. I've been using it for months now and it never failed.
In my previous version of this review I stated that I was sure these kind of products will become very popular in the future and cheaper too. I'm happy to see that I was right, now there are a lot of companies producing these kind of products and, while a few months ago not even shop assistants ever heard...
