FREE DVDs

Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review

...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them. ∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊ Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Apple Iphone 3G 8GB

Advantages: A great piece of hardware with unlimited possiblilities.
Disadvantages: Can't delete pre installed apps

...I have been a customer of O2 for many years now and so after resisting as long as I could I finally gave in and got the Apple Iphone 3G on contract. I have to say I have no regrets! The Iphone 3G is a completley touchscreen phone with internet capabilities. Not only can the phone connect to wifi signals it is also permanently connected via your network provider, all the while you have signal anyway! I find that the speed of the internet on this phone is sufficient for what I use it for (train times, facebook, emails etc), it get's a bit faster when connected to wifi rather then your network providers internet but to be honest I find the normal 3G speed is fine for me. The great thing about the phone is the applications you can add; the phone can be completly tailored to you and becomes unique for everyone! There are plenty of free apps...

Apple iPhone 3G

Advantages: A great phone
Disadvantages: None, in my opinion!

...So, as I?m sure everyone on here who has an iPhone has done, here?s my review on this little beauty?just by that you can already guess, I?m a fan of this! After my last contract with o2 expired three months back, I had the choice to renew everything and seeing as there was a distinct lack of phones available with o2 (in hindsight, I would have perhaps opted to look at the phones available with contracts provided by the Carphone Warehouse) I bit the bullet and went for the iPhone 3G 8GB version?the 3GS was available, but I?m not made of money and lets be honest, to pay that much extra for a bit more storage space, voice control and a video camera is not worth it in my honest opinion. I?m sure you?re all aware of what it looks like, but if not it?s a touch screen operated phone which is a glossy black little number. A smooth back cover...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Apple iphone 3G - WOW...!!!

Advantages: constant updates, very sleek,
Disadvantages: worried about scratching it

...around your phone without having to scroll through tons of menu's. It's all just one click away. Apart from the usual icons you would expect to have on most phones i.e. text, contacts...there is an icon called App store...pure genius who ever came up with this idea, this lets you download ANY icon about pretty much ANYTHING. I would say it also probably the main feature of the phone too. It doesn't matter if your in the stocks and shares market, love eating out at restaurants, you need a to do list for reminders, you like to play a few games, check the weather, want the currency rates for your next holiday, can't find the public toilets, are lost in the middle of know where...there will be an App to help you out. The sound quality on the phone is very good, obviously you have headphone too as it is an ipod aswell. The iphone 3G is a huge...

The Apple Iphone 3G

Advantages: touch screen, push email, sat nav, wifi
Disadvantages: heat sensative, battery life

...I have had the Apple Iphone 3G since its UK launch date. I was really excited to get one as the launch of the standard Iphone back in November had really got me a taste for all things Apple. There is so much to say about this device that I do not know where to begin. First of all it is much better value for money. The standard Iphone set me back £269 where as this one was free. O2 let me upgrade to it for free as well, so I cannot fault the network supplier, despite the bad press they received around the launch. The phone itself does everything that you could want from a phone and so much more. The best feature is the wifi connection - I go to coffee houses a lot and they all supply the Cloud wifi, this is unlimted and free as part of the contract so I get to surf broadband for free when I am out and about! The best thing about...

iPhone 3G

Advantages: Looks, interface, quality, fun
Disadvantages: Camera could be better

...The iPhone 3G is (almost) all the phone you'll ever need. Don't listen to the iPhone knockers, it's a fantastic piece of kit, it's so slick and easy to use that it even makes me use it to call people more than I ever normally would (I am a man after all so phone calls are short and not always sweet!). The build quality is excellent, I've had mine for a few months now and there isn't a scratch on any surface, it (almost) never crashes (occasionally Safari crashes after a heavy browsing session, and some 3rd party apps crash from time to time). The interface is REALLY slick. All of the built -in applications and most of the 3rd party ones you can download from the App Store (more later) integrate with each other very well. For example, if you have a friend's postal address in their Contact, start typing their name in the GPS...

3G vs 3G(S)

Advantages: Aesthetics, Range of Applications, Portability and Touch function
Disadvantages: Limited to only O2 Customers, and Short Battery Life

...iPhone 3G is still the best and no-one can say that this isn't true. Even with iPhone 3GS release, I still believe iPhone 3G is better and much cheaper, no doubt. Now, I will tell you why it is THE best. Before I start off comparing the two iPhones, I have to give the packaging 12 out of 10. It has a very unique shape and it gives that slick and crispiness within the packaging as well. The size is perfect to fit the iPhone and has no excessive waste. The packaging itself sells the whole concept of the iPhone. When you open the packaging, you will get to see the beautiful iPhone as if it's in a showcase. For a moment, you will see the glow around it. All the manuals and the cables are tucked away behind the iphone. The manuals are pretty much same as all other manuals . It has different languages from European language to East...

Diamond review  Samsung G600

Advantages: Stylish, Radio
Disadvantages: Camera

...The G600 is one of the new phones from the Samsung line. With the company being known to have great phones and be famously free with contracts nationwide I couldn't help but get this as my most recent upgrade. Contents When purchasing the G600 you get several different items within the box. Starting with a 1GB memory card which normally retails at £10 this is the first bargain. Next you have a Bluetooth headset with the Samsung logo. Most of these will start at £15 if they are branded. You get earphones with a power part in the middle to pick up local radio signals, a charger for your phone and your Bluetooth headset, software CD which serves as an instruction manual and links your phone to your computer so you can download music, photos etc. This leads to the final item - a USB cable so you can connect the two. Look...

Apple iPhone 3G

Advantages: handy for city living, as is packed with all you need to get around
Disadvantages: only available on o2 in the uk, makes it costly

...After owning various Nokia handsets since the advent of my first phone, I finally switched a couple of weeks ago and bought the iPhone 3G. And boy was it a good switch. Although initially the battery life seemed somewhat short, now that the novelty is wearing off it lasts longer day by day. Out of the box it was quick and easy to set up and was instantly useable, and though I've never owned a touch screen before, I was able to master the iPhone's with ease quite quickly. The app store feature means that the phone can be specifically tailored to you personally making what is becoming a common phone individual still. Although I was initially annoyed with the inability to send and receive picture messages , a quick search of the app store gave me a free mms app, and the payment for texts goes through paypal, which eases the monthly bill...
