Cycling on the Edge
Advantages: Many many functions, training centre info
Disadvantages: Info overload, price, rubbish standard map
...can use on the computer too - Neil used it to plan our joint ride out to the library about 1.5 miles away (even though we both knew the way perfectly well already). The route wasn't planned using the software that came with the gadget, but using another programme (available here, if you're interested: http://www.bradculberson.com/cc/map.html) with more accurate mapping information - this uses Google Maps, a lot more detailed than the standard Garmin map included with the package, which only seems to feature major roads.
It was pretty easy to follow the plotted route, and the map that he created also imported the information about elevation, so even though we hadn't cycled out that way with the Edge on, he could see the upcoming hills before we reached them. Didn't tell me about them mind, but I struggled up them none the less...

Life On The Edge
Advantages: Makes for lighter work
Disadvantages: None at all
...I have had to give in and buy a pair of long handled edging shears, for as long as I can remember I have always knelt down to trim the edges of my lawn but lately I have found that the constant pressure on my knees and back means that I am taking more than my fair share of Ibuprofen which is not a good thing.
After scouring the local garden centres and hardware stores I then took a look at the prices on the Internet, Garden suppliers wanted just over £30 for the Wilkinson's Sword edging shears, a seller on eBay was asking just under £30 and good old Amazon was offering the edging shears for just £27.50 ? so no contest, the deal on the Amazon website won hands down.
The Wilkinson's Sword edging shears measure thirty nine inches from the tip of the handles to the bottom of the blades, this allows you to cut your lawn edging...

Edge Of Terror
Advantages: A gripping and compelling thriller
Disadvantages: Some may view this as being too long
...From the minute Edge Of Darkness begins your blatantly aware that you are not watching the usual BBC drama. Familiar Guitar music which you suspect and are later proven correct is performed by the legendary Eric Clapton. And although a little dated the stellar cast takes this away from the often humdrum world of BBC drama. If you enjoy a very dark, sinister and positively evil thriller then Edge Of Darkness is undoubtedly for you.
The late Bob Peck stars as Ron Craven, a Policeman enjoying a quiet life in the country with his daughter Emma played by Joanne Whalley. Craven is a serious sombre man, and event at work and the passing of his wife has left him virtually emotionless. The only thing keeping him alive is his daughter. One evening Craven heads out to collect his daughter from a meeting. On arrival it's made obvious that she is...

Mirrors Edge
Advantages: Nice effort at a new concept
Disadvantages: Riddled with bugs and flaws
...Mirrors Edge is a fine game, Don't let me say it's not. But Mirrors Edge is a perfect example of a good game overcome with flaws.
The idea and plot are original and very compelling, the kind of plot that would make a good movie and gameplay that challenges the tide of mainstream mediocrity that is poured forth from Game manufacturers these days.
The first Person aspect Of the game is a welcome break; such games that allowed such ranges of movement include Assassins Creed, notably a third person experience. Mirrors edge made the brave attempt to put their game into first person to make the experience more personal, to put the player in the characters shoes.
However this bravery is not without its problems, occasionally you will be faced with a nice, free flowing movement area only to jump to a ledge and have to search for your next...

"Edge"ing your bets.
Advantages: Flexibility, Features, Size, Motivation
Disadvantages: Cost
...to ride and all the relevant information will be displayed. And this is just another place where the Edge scores heaps of points over the alternatives - every display is customizable. Not only can you choose how many data fields are displayed (from 1 all the way up to 8), you can also choose which information is shown on each screen and in each data field.
The list of display items is impressive. All of the basic functions; heart rate, speed, cadence, time and distance are available. But so are average speed, heart rate and cadence, both overall and for individual laps. Altitude, total ascent and descent, time of day, calories used? the list goes on. In fact there are 33 fields in total - way more than you could ever display on a single screen, but the fact that there are two configurable bike computer screens and that each...

Hard Jagged Edge
Advantages: Smooth ballads, Vocals
Disadvantages: A couple of weaker links
...**Introduction**
Hard is the fourth album from Jagged Edge released in 2003. The album features collaborations with the likes of Big Boi from Outkast aswell as Street Katz And Woonie on the remix of "They aint J" and Major Damage on Girls Gone Wild.
1. They Ain't JE
This is the introduction to the album, the track is about having confidence in yourself that you have something that other people can't offer. As I mention later this original version isnt as good as the remix. That is a shame.
2. Walked Outta Heaven
This track has a gorgeous feel to it. It starts softly then the beat comes in and showcases their distinctive Jagged Edge ballad. Superb vocals all around and one of their best songs. The vocal harmonies are amazing.
3. Girls Gone Wild Featuring Major Damage
This track is about meeting some girl on spring...

Living Life On The Mirror's Edge!
Advantages: Original Gameplay, Clean And Crisp Visuals And Plenty Of Fun.
Disadvantages: Weak Story, Steep Learning Curve And High Difficulty Level.
...=Mirror's Edge Xbox 360=
Are you brave enough to take a leap of Faith into the unknown?
*Introduction*
Mirror's Edge is an original and unique new title, heavy influenced by both 'Parkour' and 'Free Running'. Parkour (a French word, literally translated means-the art of 'Movement') is a type of urban sport which founding principles are for a human to get from A to B, in the shortest time possible-with no tools. The runners movements are also a huge issue, and 'flowing' is considered a fundamental part of the discipline. It is far better to get from A to B in smooth and rhythmic like motions, then it is to stop, start and not be at all fluent. Parkour is almost always done in a 'urban environment', usually one with small buildings, drain-pipes, steps and several different sized furnishings. Almost anywhere from...

A taste of life on the Edge
Advantages: Tastes like gin and tonic
Disadvantages: ...so why not have a gin and tonic?
...What goes into an alcopop? Manufacturers rarely disclose their ingredients on the label, so how do you know you're not drinking moonshine brewed by hillbillies in a rusty tin bath that will make you go blind after a couple of chugs?
I exaggerate, of course, but it is reassuring to see the Gordon's logo on a bottle of Edge and know that whatever else may be lurking in the bottle, the gin is top quality.
And what a fine bottle. Slightly squat with a wide body, angular shoulders and a hint of green in the glass, this is a bottle that says 'Hi there, I'm going to refresh you while simultaneously making you look cool'.
The label is a plain non-gimmicky black and white job, with a yellow flash at the neck and base denoting lemon flavour and a green for lime. Sorry, that's 'crisp' lemon and 'sharp' lime. The most prominent feature is...

The Edge of Dreadful
Advantages: Some of the things you love about Bridget Jones are still here
Disadvantages: It feels as if Fielding is trying too hard to go one better
...the original, this might be worth a read for curiosity value, just to see how Bridget turned out once she'd landed her man. For those who didn't enjoy the original very much and couldn't care less what happened, "The Edge of Reason" is certainly not going to change your opinions.
On the plus side, it's an old book now, so copies can be found around both eBay and the Amazon Marketplace from 1p and I have seen some in charity shops for around £1.00. If you insist on a brand new copy, the cheapest I have seen is £4.99 from BOL. But at that price, you're better off saving your money and buying something decent instead....

Gotta have a Garmin Edge 205
Advantages: wireless, accurate, can analyse data, water proof - Excellent
Disadvantages: Sometimes a loss of GPS signal, still quite expensive
...Why I chose the Garmin Edge 205
****************************************
Being a bit of a gadget 'freak' I stumbled across one of these on a cycling accessories website but instantly dismissed it because of its price tag of £149.99. Being a recreational cyclist who would never enter a cycling competition of any discipline there was no way I could justify the price.
However, after being introduced to the Fat fingers concept on Ebay, and seeing the bargains a close mate of mine was enjoying I decided to scour the Ebay search engine in hope of finding one of these at a 'reasonable' price.
All brand new units (I will not buy second hand electrical items/gadgets off Ebay since I have been stung before) were retailing between £95.00 plus P&P of £25 and £169.99 plus P&P of £5.95. Using the Fat fingers finder I found a "buy it now...
