...Why on earth can Southampton not have a decent gay venue? The Edge has been the focus of much gay nightlife since the Magnum club closed and the Edge was given a licence until 2. However, you have got to think, if this were a straight place it would be empty, because it really is just tatty. Downstairs which makes a fairly plain and DIY decorated pub, becomes a very poor dancefloor on Friday and Saturdays. Upstairs, there is the "Box" - aptly named, it is the size of a box - where you can dance, so long as you don't fall down the stair case that takes prime position in the middle of the dance 'floor' or mind all the punters pushing past as they come up it. They charge £2 for members and £4 for non-members to get in after 10 on Friidays and Saturdays, which is frankly daft. Rubbish, in my humble opinion.... Read review

...Close to the Edge is along with Relayer and The Yes Album on of the definitive, proper Yes Albums. Its got only three tracks, the lyrics are Jon Anderson at his almost most impenetrable (he save the best/worst for Topographic Oceans), the music is pseudo classical symphonic and goes on for a long time. The Three tracks are Close To The Edge, Siberian Khatru and And You And I. Close To The Endge is split into four parts and is pure pomp rock with lots of keyboard and guitar twiddling. And You And I is based on one of Anderson's very slight three chord tunes, beefed up and padded out to 10 minutes by the rest of the band, and Siberian Khatru is Yes almost rockin. An entertaining album , but this was one of the reasons that punk had to happen.... Read review

...in 1949, it was considered to be a milestone achievement in British rock climbing. Until after the Second World War this whole area was private grouse moors that were strictly out of bounds to the public but there is documented evidence that even during the 19th century climbers were bribing the gamekeepers with barrels of beer to climb here. Nowadays this area is visited by hundreds of people every day and at the weekends it is possible to count dozens of rock climbers along the edge. This area is also popular with hikers too and the views that can be obtained from the top of here are breathtaking. One of my favourite views is from close to where the Long Causeway joins the footpath that runs along the top of the edge. On a clear day it is possible to see over 10 miles (16Km) from here, straight down the Hope Valley, past the villages... Read review

Advantages: It stopped me wondering what Hannibal was up to.
Disadvantages: Left me feeling sick

...So we have had to wait 10yrs to find out what happened to Hannibal when he left the prison and to be honest I would have been better off not knowing. You would not think that the same author could write this book as wrote the first. All the characters did things that were totally out of character, the first book left you feeling on edge with hairs sticking up on the back of your neck, in the new book it left me feeling sick. I would not recommend this book to my worst enemy never mind a friend go and read the back of a cornflakes box instead.... Read review

...When I frist sat down in the cinema, waiting for the film to start, I thought it would be very good with good special effects and brolliant stunts. But that was not the case, the film was rather boring at some points and very boring at other times. Even Will Smith's jokes weren't enough to keep me on the edge of my seat... On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this a film a very poor, 3. It wasn't anything like Men in Black or Independence Day. I don't even think there they played the Wild Wild West theme tune...... A definate 'edge of the seat' action thriller which will have you glued to your TV Screen as a team of roughneck Oil Riggers lead by Willis prepare to go into deep space action to save the world from certain doom. With 18 days to go before inpact, the clock is ticking.
