...This year I went on one of the most amazing holidays I have been on. I went to Egypt. My trip to Egypt took months of planning and was in fact very difficult to book. This stemmed from the fact that I had a clear idea of where I wanted to go in Egypt and when. I wanted to start in Luxor. This was primarily because I could book a cheap return flight to Luxor via Thomas Cook. I wanted to board a Nile Cruise in Luxor for 5 days (4 nights). Many cruises last for 7 days as they go to Aswan and return to Luxor. I wanted to travel from Aswan to Cairo - on the sleeper train. From Cairo I then wanted to go to a Red Sea beach resort, wasn't bothered which one. Death on the Nile - Deathly Boring

Advantages: Used up a couple of hours on an otherwise dull Sunday
Disadvantages: Nothing challenging about it

Nile Cruise another perspective

Advantages: History and having a Thomson rep at all times
Disadvantages: too short

...I went on a Nile Cruise with Thomson. It was a five star boat part of the Presidential line called the Nile Commodore. In the brochure the details included all excusions which were packed into the 7 days, I thought oh yea dragged around from tomb to tomb but it was booked so off we went. We arrived to a wonderful friendly greeting. Thomson had a rep on board who came everywhere with us and was always around to help. Not a pretty young thing with fluttering eyelashes but a more mature young woman who was well respected by all the crew. The boat was fantastic wood panelling everywhere and whenever you say members of the crew they greeted you warmly. Discover Egypt - a great company to see Egypt with

Advantages: Cruising shows the history of Egypt in a snap shot
Disadvantages: Very tiring

...Trying to find a honeymoon venue that would not prove too expensive over Christmas turned out to be harder than we ever imagined. Eventually whilst reading the Daily Mail Travel Section I discovered a fantastic week long cruise down the Nile going out in December and including 10 free excursions for £399! This was advertised with a company called Discover Egypt that I had never heard of. I thought that this was far too good to be true and that there must be a catch. Talking it over with my partner we decided that maybe we should give them a call and get some more details. Nile - In the Beginning. From humble beginnings

Advantages: Nice selection of rarities, its Nile
Disadvantages: Not the greatest Production, but not the worst either.

...Nile are a band that pretty much define Brutal Death Metal, so you kinda know that anything they put out is going to be of the most extreme affair. This isn't much a best of, as most of the tracks that you may already have are in fact the original studio versions, so there is something new of sorts to listen to. Quite a few of the tracks sound notably different from the album version you may have heard. For fans of the band, this is a rather nice addition to your collection, a little look into the early days of the band. Ramses Bringer of War is still a track that creates such an epic tone that it deserves to be the national anthem of all wars. The sheer level of playing is still evident even this far back. All in all this is a nice touch to an already flawless release record and a must own for fans of the band....

Nile - Black Seeds of vengeance. Infinite Awesome

Advantages: Brutal, relentless, esoteric sound
Disadvantages: Not for those with a heart condition.

...This is about the time Nile took most of the metal world by storm and brought a new level of brutal to the table for people to worship. The strong Middle Eastern and Egyptian sound really adds a new level to the music and brings a sort of haunting tone to the overall sound. Blast beats and double kick insanity are to be found all over every single track, bar the interludes which are of a strong Ancient Egyptian styling that really adds to the feeling that you will get. Most of the songs conjure a feeling of war and chaos, which is always a perfect subject for Death Metal. ?Masturbating The War God? and ?The Black Flame? are two tracks that for me, really shine. They present all the style and skill that Nile have become renowned for over the years. This is a must have piece of hate on a CD, and as such, get it, or miss out....

Nile Cruise and Stay ( Luxor to Aswan and Back)

Advantages: Amazing Temples, Tombs, desert landscapes,sunsets,food, weather
Disadvantages: Hassle from hustlers, Extreme heat, apparent extreme poverty of some

...tell from this review, but bear in mind the extreme heat on the top deck. The internal body of the ship is very well air-conditioned, but the top deck, with bar, snack-bar and pool, is open to the full 50C+ temperatures and blazing blue skies: so only serious sunbathers need apply to this bit. shaded sunbeds and comfy sofas are available at the back bit of the top deck. The scenery whilst cruising slowly up and down the Nile, is also amazing. It's an extremely fast-flowing river, but there's no feeling of motion. Villages, small towns, fields, floating islands of papyrus leaves with herons nests, logs passing by, ibises flying around the ship, villagers and camels waving at you as you glide by... magical. However....one small thing.....Everywhere you go in Egypt, you're accompanied by big Kalashnikov-wielding Tourist...
