Beautiful Views Looking At The Eiger

Advantages: Beautiful views, friendly staff, lovely rooms, lovely area, everything is just perfect

...If I had one word to say about this hotel it would be, brilliant, although i do have a lot more words to describe this hotel. I have been to the Eiger Hotel twice in the last two years, and each time i have gone the service and hospitality has been wonderful! The waiters and the receptionists, every single worker is caring and helps you along your holiday. The first time i came, we had a room facing the Eiger, the room was set out perfect and they helped us book our ski's, tell us where to get our passes onto the slopes. After looking around Grindelwald we sat down for dinner to only find the seven course meal we were about to go through. Me and my brother thought it was heaven! ...Well, it is December, so I will write a review about a - TENT! The Gelert Eiger 3 is a three man budget tent, designed for weekend use or backpacking. It is actually only made to last between two and three seasons, but of course it depends on how you use and abuse it. The bag - this is made from the same material as the tent, and measures just 16 x 53 centimeters. It weighs four & a half Kilos, and can be worn on the back like a rucksack. Inside the bag, you will find fibreglass poles with elastic inside, these are "idiot proof" so they are easy to assemble. You will also see the tent itself, consisting of a flysheet, an inner tent with integral groundsheet, and 18 metal tent pegs. Sewn into the bag, is an instruction sheet printed on material, this is a good idea as you can not lose it. The instructions are well written...

...Shibumi by Trevaninan, is as unique a spy thriller that you will ever find. It combines the twists and turns associated with this genre, but throws in large amounts of background to the character - which gives you a read more along the lines of an epic rather then an action packed page turner. Trevanian - the author, know best for the eiger sanction, is quite an enigma himself - writing under a pen name youre not sure of gender, or indeed their background. But the amount of detail in the book and the anti-american feeling of the main character suggests perhaps this is an ex forces man of sorts. Who can forget the latter, with the slow build up with the appearance of the shark. Once again, Williams uses his talent to make the music add to the film rather than taking away from it. 1977 saw the first Star Wars movie, but also released that year was Close Encounters of the Third Kind, scored by Williams. 1978 saw the release of Jaws 2 and another classic, Superman.
