Castillo San Miguel
Advantages: Superb horses and some great eye candy for the ladies
Disadvantages: Horrible fod, revolting wine, uncomfortable seats and miserable staff

Whilst on holiday in Tenerife this summer 2007, our tour representative did a reasonable job on her sales pitch by convincing me to book another of her excursions. Not only had I just booked a Catamaran cruise for an afternoon but I had now also paid my euros to spend an evening at the Castillo San Miguel for a Medieval Evening. I did not visit during the day so cannot comment on what is available at this time.
If you are ever holidaying on the island of Tenerife, then please read on before you commit yourself to a very different evening's entertainment.
*** Object of the Evening***
Castillo San Miguel covers approximately 6,000 square metres...

A HAVEN FOR THE EXHIBITIONISTS AMONGST YOU
Advantages: Some nice apartments, reasonable food, plenty of swimming pools, a village in its own right
Disadvantages: pools not heated in winter, some terrible apartments
...could have been booked a month ago for about £350 less.
THE OUTLET
The Barcelo Club el Castillo is, as its name suggests, a member of the Barcelo Group, and is one of three outlets owned by them in Calete de Fuste. The others are Barcelo Fuerteventura and Puerto Castillo, they are all next to each other effectively constituting a resort in their own right.
As it was just myself and Tasha travelling, in this instance I did a fair bit of research initially through the Barcelo site and was a mite concerned to discover that the complex consisted of 382 bungalows.
Evidently a ground floor complex from my point of view for two lone females was a security risk so was unhappy before I had even left. Further research through sites such as www.holidaytruths.com and similar established that the Barcelo Club had, in the last year...

Port El Kantaoui
Advantages: Beautiful Beaches
Disadvantages: Mainly For Couples, Hassle From Local Shopkeekers
...Port El Kantaoui is a purpose built Holiday Resort on the Northern Coast of Tunisia in North Africa. It is situated just a few kilometres North of Sousse, Tunisia's second largest City after the Capital Tunis.
It was built in 1979 with a modern 300 Yacht capacity Marina as its focal point. In recent years this Marina has become a popular mooring location for the rich and famous undertaking their Mediterranean Cruises and the Marina here is said to rival those long established Marinas of Nice and Marbella on the Southern Coast of Europe. It is now also Tunisia's most popular Holiday Resort.
I stayed in Port El Kantaoui between the 2nd and 9th July 2006 and found the experience to be a rather interesting one. Since it was my first visit to Tunisia I was a little unsure of what to expect and as my Holiday approached I began to hear...

Don't pass on El Paso
Advantages: Fantastic hotel.
Disadvantages: They made me go home !!
...This review is about my holiday at the El Paso Hotel, Port Aventura, Spain in October 2008.
My holiday was booked through First Choice Holidays and for my husband, myself and our 12 year old son for a weeks half board stay with unlimited access to the park, the cost, including flights and transfers was £1200.
We all had a wonderful time, I won't go into the park details as I have already written a review on that aspect of Port Aventura - this review is purely about our stay in the hotel.
We flew into Reus airport and it only took 10 - 15 minutes to get to our hotel.
Before I go any further, let me explain about Halloween at Port Aventura.
Every October and November Port Aventura goes into Halloween mode, and boy - they don't do it by half.
If you have ever been to Disneyland at Halloween - Port Aventura do it...

Castillo de Sol, Puerto Rico
Advantages: Clean, Good entertainment for the kids, good pool
Disadvantages: up the hillside
...This was our third trip to Puerto Rico and the first time we had stayed on the hillside.
We stayed during the middle of October 2006
The Castillo de Sol Apartments are very clean. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment. The bedroom was a good size with two good sized wardrobes and a dressing table with a nice large mirror. As always, it was a twin bedded room so we just slid the beds together.
Our daughter slept on the sofa bed in the lounge area (bedding was left for us).
There was a hand towel and a bath towel for each of us which were changed every other day. bedding was changed once during the week we stayed. The maids cleaned 5-6 days per week.
The rooms are basic but more than adequate for our needs (somewhere to get changed and to sleep at night!) We did have a TV in the room which took Euro coins and even the smaller 10...

Charm-El-Sheik!
Advantages: Snorkelling, the red sea, food, price, heat.
Disadvantages: The runs!
...Me and my partner stayed in a hotel called the Conrad Sharm El Sheik in Egypt for a week from Monday 12th of June to the 19th of June. We had the most amazing holiday and I hope you enjoy reading my review of what I consider one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited in my life.
I will start by reviewing the actual travel agents, etc then go on to the beautiful Sharm!
Who did you book with?
We booked with a well known travel Agent called First Choice.
How much did it cost and what did it include?
The total cost of the holiday for both of us came to 1058. This was for a week's stay in a four stay hotel, all inclusive basis, including travel insurance, flights and flight meals as well. We paid a 240 sterling pound deposit and we paid the rest off in installments. We booked the holiday in December 2005 and the money...

El Macho, Bravo
Advantages: Good location. Lively atmosphere Authentic
Disadvantages: Gets busy
...The El Macho Mexican Restuarant is located in Hope Street, the appropriately named street that separates the two Cathedrals in
Liverpool. It is a very convenient location -not far from the city centre or the University.I have been to El Macho's twice and must say I liked the simple rustic decor, the friendly, exuberant service, the food
and the drinks. For the quality of the food on offer,it is also reasonably priced. It is a lively spot and gets very busy so it is
probably wise to book a table.I have been told that Sir Paul McCartney, when he is in town ,likes to visit this little corner of Mexico but he wasnt there when I was.
They have a good range of Mexican starters with the likes of nachos,
chillis, beans and dips while among the entrees are seafood dishes and their famous Mexican Skillet which comprises charcoal grilled...

Sharm El Sheikh - Paradise?
Advantages: The weather, the people, the scenery, the hotel, the sea, the fish....
Disadvantages: Can get very hot in the summer period!
...On Thursday May 26th 2005, myself, my mum, my dad and my brother went on a family holiday to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It was the first time we had been abroad for 4 years, the first time we had been on a plane for 4 years, the first time we had been to Africa - ever.
All my life I had dreamed of going to Egypt, mainly Cairo to see the Pyramids, as I had always wanted to become an archaeologist. I collected souveneirs from Museums and shops relating to Ancient Egypt, an amazing period in the worlds history filled with grand designs, architecture and beliefs. I collected a childrens magazine on Ancient Egypt and read up about the era in books both at home and at school. I was fascinated by everything I read and was determined from then on to visit the Great Pyramids at Giza, one seventh of the wonders of the Ancient World...

Perfect for Espresso- the Dualit EL60
Advantages: Grinds to a super fine powder for the perfect espresso
Disadvantages: Sometimes can't grind enough coffee in one go for a coffee maker.
...I bought the Dualit EL60 from "Whittards of Chelsea" in September 2008 to grind coffee beans for my "Gaggia Baby Classic" espresso machine and paid £28 in the end of summer sale.
When making espresso by hand using a machine with a handle, you need to ensure that the coffee grinds are in a fine powder as this lets you can maximise the crème layer on your espresso. Being aware of this I quizzed the assistants in both Whittards and my local speciality coffee shop who both recommended this grinder to achieve the finest grade of powder for the perfect espresso. Though I have only used this for espresso I should note that with multiple grind grades the grinder can be used to grind coffee for all sorts of purposes including cafetieres.
When purchased the grinder came in a small box that essentially fitted it like a glove so it seemed...

Sharm el Shiekh - Dive in
Advantages: Weather, diving, friendliness, hotel stds and price
Disadvantages: Adjusting to Arab culture and being pestered
...I have recently returned from Naama Bay in Sharm el Shiekh which could possibly be the best value dive resort in the world.
This review is actually of Naama Bay the area itself and what it has to offer.
I must quantify this by stating that the diving/snorkelling is my own personal experience. Personally I could never just go and lie on a beach for more than an hour or two (and 2 hours would need a very very good book!). The 'bucket and spade brigade' info is feedback from friends I have recommended this resort to.
I have been there 13 times and plan to continue going back. I know, there are many people (including myself before I went there) who cannot imagine going back to the same resort but Naama Bay really is different.............................. Honest (and I don't mean cause it's been bombed! but more on the terrorist...
