Good, dependable, no thrills cooker
Advantages: no thrills, does the job, easy to use, clean, good instruction book
Disadvantages: handle on grill tray
...Ok ok, so perhaps Beko is a name that doesn't trip off the tongue when talking about replacement cookers.
However, I've had my cute little electric 212 for over a year now and have to say that I'm completely satisfied with it.
Its of a very basic hob design with twin cavities (grill & Oven) with the usual four hot plates offering power outputs of between 1kw & 2kw, while the reasonably sized oven has a maximum power of 2100 watts.
Its relatively light at 57kg, so its easy to slide between kitchen units for cleaning etc. It can come in a number of colours from typical white, to green or blue. I chose to be conservative and went for white.
The control panel isn't particular sophisticated with knobs set for the hotplates, oven, grill along with a couple of indicator/thermostat lights and nothing more.
There's a couple...

A Great Electric Cooker
Advantages: Cheap, Efficient and Reliable
Disadvantages: I wasn't impressed by the hob
...I recently purchased the Beko D533W from 365electrical.com and I have to say after using it for a month so far, I am very happy with my purchase.
The Beko D533W is a Electric Cooker, It has a single oven with a seperate grill and a standard solid 4 plate hob on top. It comes in the colour white, Which I guess is what the W stands for at the end of D533.
The Oven is a 53 Litre Fan Oven and I was impressed by how quickly the oven heats up to your required temperature, It is literally a few minutes and compared to my old oven which took about 15-20 minutes to heat up, You can imagine how delighted I am with the increase in speed.
The Grill is also very good and has variable heat settings also, Which is great for cooking your sausages to perfection.
Now the Hob , I was a little disappointed by how it looks, it looks a bit cheap...

Morphy Richards Rice cooker - Too clever for me!
Advantages: An easy way to cook rice dishes
Disadvantages: Not suitable for small families due to the minimum cooking quantity
...A few months ago I read a review about a rice cooker and thought that, yes I could do with one of them. I settled on the Morphy Richards 48744 as to be honest that was the only one offered on the fact finders website and I thought I would use up some of my points.
.
The Rice and Pasta cooker is a mirrored silver colour with black handles with a toughened glass lid with a black handle and a steam hole. The cooker is 21 cm high without lid or 24cm with the lid and 28cm in diameter plus handles makes it 36cm. The cable is 90cm long. It fits nicely into one of my top wall mounted kitchen cabinets if the lid is turned upside down. The cooker is supplied with a pasta cooking pad, which is like a round piece of clear/white rubber with holes in it, a plastic measuring beaker and a small plastic white spatula. Inside the machine is a large...

AEG-Electrolux D98000VFM - Electric Cooker
Advantages: Double Oven, easy clean, very easy to use, good functionality
Disadvantages: Touch controls are quite sensitive, fault codes are not obvious
...Disaster - 2 weeks before Chrismas my cooker blew up and with all the family coming to visit I had to buy and get one installed really quick. I popped into John Lewis (never knowingly undersold) and instantly fell for this cooker.
My main selection criteria was, it had to be electric, 2 ovens, good branding, 5 year warranty, look good and be delivered for Christmas. It ticked all the boxes and I went ahead with the purchase.
The goods arrived - very well packaged, complete with installation manual and user guide. A qualified electrician (my neighbour) was able to install this in about 45 mins, a simple case of moving out the old cooker and disconnecting, then reconnecting to the new one - this involved removing the back panel and reconnecting a few wires. The cooker then pushed straight back into place., and looked great...

Electric Knights
Advantages: A fine work by the Deathstars
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little formulaic
...it's quite slow in tempo, but it's certainly got me trying to move in time as I listen. It glides along to a faster finish. A most satisfying start to the album. 7/10
2. "Night Electric Night"
The second song is faster in tempo, although does alternate between faster and slower sections building up to a fast finish, which is something I demand and appreciate from the Deathstars. I love the finish of this. It also satisfies and makes me chair-dance. 7/10
3. "Death Dies Hard"
I will deny you
This world belongs to me
This is apparently the first single from the album. It seems a pretty solid choice. To me, it feels like a James Bond theme, and the title certainly sounds Bond-ish. I like it. The keyboards remind me of a-ha, too. But it's still all very reassuringly Deathstars-ish. 8/10
4. "The Mark of the Gun"
But...

Hotpoint 170EW Electric cooker.
Advantages: Efficient cooking in oven and on hobs. Easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Waist level knobs difficult to see and read ( for a tall person.)
...I have just bought the ALL electric version of this ( assume there must be two versions based on a rreview I read here.).
Its fantastic. I have no issues with it at all. The fan oven heated up and cooked beautifully. The hob rings were quick and efficiient.
I managed to spill on one of the hobs ( too fast, I wasnt quick enough when it came to the boil) but it cleaned off easily and as good as new.
My main gripe would be that the knobs are all along the front at waist level. I am tall and have to bend to see what is what there. I am sure with time I will be familiar with this but right now its a drawback.
I liked the old Creda stand alone with a back up ( had a Creda cavelier vefore this) . I also miss the aultomatic timer I had on my old cooker. This is a " slot in " type so has no back and I suppose is very...

It's no slow cooker....
Advantages: versitile and time saving
Disadvantages: none
...the kitchen and with the ceramic insert doubling as an oven dish you get extra value. It is also worth taking into account that it uses very little elctricity to run, far less than running an oven for an hour or so.
--------------------
Using your slow cooker:-
Choose your dish, prepare your ingredients...chuck them in, switch on and go and enjoy the day..Then come back a few hours later and enjoy your meal !!!
The only things that you realy need to know is that meat is much better if very lightly fried to seal in the juices, and although this is not nessasary if you don't your meat can have almost a slimey texture.
It is always worth bearing in mind that slow cookers work by keeping the moisture sealed in..so the less times you lift the lid the better !!!
Meals such as porridge and rice dishes need less cooking so...

Hinari Slow Cooker Fits Our Lifestyle
Advantages: can be left on all day, economical to run, easy to clean
Disadvantages: need to remember to put the food in hours before you eat
...For all you busy people out there or people who wish to save on your gas/electric bill and save on your food bill too, then this kitchen gadget is defintely for you. A slow cooker is an extremely low wattage appliance that can be safely left on all day (or night). How it works is you place your ingredients in the pot, add a bit of fluid such as water or broth, put on the lid, and switch on to your chosen setting. It gently cooks your food with steam. More about that later.
The Hinari Lifestyle slow cooker retails for about £39. It is stainless steel on the outside, with a vented smoked glass lid. The removable inner pot is earthenware (hence why in the USA they are called crockpots)and comes in black. The crock liner is extremely easy to clean as the steam cooking action keeps the food moist so it all just wipes off. Occasionally you...

The oldest electric railway in the world
Advantages: Good fun, reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Only runs along a short route
...Running for a length of around two kilometres along Brighton's seafront Volk's Electric Railway is the oldest operating electric railway system in the world. Established in 1883 it was not the first electric rail system of its kind, that award goes to a similar system at Lichterfelde, Berlin that predates this one by a couple of years. However that one no longer operates so Brighton's version qualifies as the oldest one still in use.
Brighton's electric railway is a narrow gauge railway that was the brainchild of Magnus Volk. It operates between the Aquarium, adjacent to the pier to the marina and the length of the queues at the stations at both end during the recent Easter Bank Holiday prove that it is still a popular attraction.
There are only three stations along its route; the Aquarium at the eastern end of the line close to...

Enough of fast food - use a slow cooker.
Advantages: Easy to use and efficient
Disadvantages: Hard to clean
...I'll start with the best bits about the cooker:
From the moment I bought the appliance, I have had next to no trouble with it(see worst bits).
It comes in bubble plastic so it's not damaged and its all ready to plug in. Once plugged in, you're up and away!
It's made of strong, white porcelain which would be hard to crack. There is a layer of metal around which provides the heat, although there is an ever-cool coating on the outside so you can't get burned.
The porcelain dish is removeable so once the meal has been cooked, the dish can be removed and placed on the table ready to serve.
There is a glass lid which is very helpful. With a lot of slow cookers i have had, the lid has been the same colour as the dish and so i could not see in. Having a see-through lid ensures you know how well the food is cooked and if it's boiling, etc...
