Cyclonic or moronic?
Review of Electrolux Z 5600 Cyclone Power Ultima by  jackyann53

Advantages: No dustbags required, whizzy little turbo tool
Disadvantages: heavy, awkward dust compartment

...on a daily basis) for several years, so it was with heavy heart that I relegated it to the recycling centre. Being rather strapped for cash I leafed through my Great Essentials catalogue in search of the perfect replacement. I've always had bagged upright cleaners so planned to buy similar, however there was a distinct lack of them available in the catalogue so I ended up hunting through the cyclonic bagless ones in an attempt to find a suitable addition to my home. I must admit that having very little experience with cyclonic cleaners I didn't have much clue what I was picking so I read through some of the reviews on this site. Feeling a little more informed I finally picked this one. I have had Electrolux cleaners in the past and been quite happy with the brand so felt more confident in choosing the Electrolux Z5600 than most... Read review

My New Vacuum Cleaner!
Review of Electrolux Z2950 Velocity Cyclonic 1700W Uprig by  mightymuffin

Advantages: Excellent suction, reasonable price for a good named brand
Disadvantages: Extension hose not long enough & electrical cord situated too low down & a bit noisy

...My last vacuum cleaner was a Dyson and before that I've had two Hoovers, so Electrolux (as a vacuum cleaner) isn't something I've ever used before. I'd done no research on this cleaner but my last Dyson had given me so much bother over the last tweleve months and the other week it finally bit the dust, so I had to buy another one in a bit of a hurry. It was about 7.30pm on Sunday night at Tesco when I bought this. As no other shops were open in my area, it was Tesco or nothing. My husband and I went into our local Tesco Extra to see what range of models they had available. There were about a dozen or so and I had absolutely no idea which one was best - I knew I wouldn't be buying another Dyson though! There were a couple of Electrolux models on display, but what initailly cought my eye about this one was it's colour - it's red... Read review

impressive vacuum
Review of Electrolux Cyclone by  boanerges

Advantages: powerful, lightweight
Disadvantages: tends to topple over

...Having recently given away our old vacuum cleaner to a friend in need we were on the look out for a replacement. On doing a bit of research it seemed that a Dyson was favourite but somewhat expensive. A good alternative seemed to be the Electorlux Cyclone which I was told was probably the best for animal owners, it was also considerably cheaper than a Dyson and appeared to use similar "bagless" technology. We bought the Electrolux and have not regretted our decision, the suction power is very impressive, a frightening amount of dust and dog hair is sucked up every day.The only criticisms I have is that the machine has a tendency to topple over when using the accessories and the extension is not long enough to reach up a flight of stairs although I believe an extension is available as an additional extra. All in all we are very satisfied.... Read review

Washable Whirlwind
Review of Electrolux Cyclone by  romybuzzer

Advantages: Attractive, effective, reliable
Disadvantages: Cleaning

...Today, the vacuum cleaner is an essential part of the home appliances portfolio. While our relative relied on beating dust from carpets and sweeping, we live in a world of magical suction that can remove even the most resistant particles. No one enjoys cleaning. It is one of those chores that are required yet it is never savoured. We all like a nice clean house. We all want a nice clean house so it’s therefore an idea to make this as painless and effective as possible. Painless in the procedure and on the pocket. This is where the Electrolux Cyclone becomes a sensible choice when buying a new Vacuum. Electrolux is well known in the world of Vacuums but it is only one avenue of a wide range of products that it builds. As well as the excellent range of cleaners it produces, it also has an extensive and varied range of refrigerators... Read review

Poor Man's Dyson....
Review of Electrolux Z4648 / Cyclone power plus hepa high filtration by  pinseyt

Advantages: Great suction power, cheaper than a Dyson, reusable filters
Disadvantages: Heavy, noisy, a bit unstable, makes you feel dirty!

...for a vacuum cleaner started a few weeks ago when I noticed that my six year old Electrolux Mondo cylinder cleaner simply wasn't up to the job anymore. My house seemed to be getting dustier and dustier. I wasted hours of my life going over and over the same bit of carpet. I decided it was time for a big change - I had heard good things about upright cleaners and after some research, my heart was set on a Dyson. That is until I saw the prices.... I wanted a Dyson DC07 but as they cost in the region of £200 in the shops (more if you want a fancy version), it was back to researching my options... but I couldn't decide. Then, the other day, I was in Costco with the other half and saw the Electrolux Z4648, a Cyclone Power Plus upright cleaner. From the description on the shelf, it looked like it it would meet my suction expectations. We bit... Read review

the bagless boss makes cleaning fun
Review of Electrolux 2284 BOSS by  nafan

Advantages: powerful, light, bagless and perfect!
Disadvantages: i was just joking about it making cleaning fun!

...This review is about the Electrolux Z4387 boss lite bagless cyclonic upright vacuum cleaner! For the last year I have had a really terrible cylinder cleaner. It took me ages to hoover a room. This morning I received my new vacuum. I could not believe the amazing suction power of it. I had vacuumed less than a week ago but after hoovering one and a half rooms it was completely full of dust. I always thought my house was reasonably clean but this was obviously not the case! This vacuum has a massive 1500 watts. Not only is it powerful its also pretty light and easy to manoeuvre. The cable is a very good length. I could get around the whole house without even unplugging it. It used to take me an hour to hoover the house but today it took me just 15 minutes. It sucks up everything so quickly and efficiently. This vacuum is bag... Read review

PROBABLY THE MOST POWERFUL UPRIGHT VACUUM CLEANER
Review of Dyson DC07 by  janna

Advantages: effective cleaning of carpets and upholstery etc.
Disadvantages: At 8.6kg slightly on the heavy side if you need to carry it about.

...jumble out of sight in a cupboard) and run the vacuum cleaner over the floors. Somehow, callers at my home may think that I keep the horse in the house as I have an unending trail of bits of straw and hay and lumps of dried mud throughout my home. This is because, certain people don’t take their wellies/outdoor shoes off at the door after they have tended to the horse! One of my reasons for changing to a Dyson was because I am absolutely fed up with bags that split and tip dust all over the place, getting down my throat, up my nose and making me cough. When I moved home 5 years ago, I purchased an Electrolux Glider Upright 600w vacuum cleaner. Now, this machine, having only a small motor was clearly not up to the job that I had in mind for it; and over the years it has become less and less effective. So, it is about to take... Read review

Vacuuming sucks: How to buy a vacuum cleaner
Review of Member Advice on Vacuum Cleaners by  DaisyRose

Advantages: Consideration of all features will make the search easier.
Disadvantages: Vacuuming is still a useless and horrible task, regardless of what you buy.

..., and the Health Busybodies will probably bang on your door, eventually. So take a deep breath and Just Do It. I’m not going to address the niceties of mopping here; that’s the absolute ultimate in household chores I don’t even want to think about. What we’re going to deal with here, class, is... Vacuuming. Specifically, how to buy a vacuum cleaner. WHY DO YOU NEED A VACUUM CLEANER? Won’t a mop and broom do just as well? Well, no. Unless you live in prison, or some other environment with exclusively hard-surface floors, you need a vacuum cleaner. I have acres of hardwood, with some area rugs, and even that relatively small percentage of rugg'd territory demands frequent thorough vacuuming, thanks in large part to my dearly beloved cats, Peachy and Pogo. They are both short-hairs, very loving, and the sheddiest animals... Read review

This Vacuum Cleaner really sucks
Review of Electrolux 2284 BOSS by  Dominic2001

Advantages: Stylish Chic Sucks
Disadvantages: falls over and fills up quickly

...; and not a word of a lie. On the down side the “Boss” has a stability problem and wobbles like a sales rep after an office party, tending to prefer rolling onto it’s side than following at heel like it should. Also the dust bag fills up very quickly, that’s because the “boss” is small and hasn’t the space for a large capacity bag. I feel this Vacuum Cleaner is ideal for those with limited storage space and people who like to have stylish cleaning implements...Lets use that Hoover for a cleaning manoeuvre! (Ok I know it’s an Electrolux but I don’t have a fancy closing line that rhymes with that).... Read review

Electrolux Sucks - In A Good Way
Review of Electrolux Z 4431 Silver by  Foxy1982

Advantages: Reliable and has good features
Disadvantages: The so called Long lasting synthetic bag is not long lasting

...I have just had a quick hoover round my house, Whilst I was doing it I thought to myself this is a great little vacuum cleaner, So here I am now to heap praise upon my reliable little product. The Vacuum Cleaner I have is the Electrolux Z4431. It is quite funky looking as vacuum cleaners go, It is silver and small and compact. Its easy to store away in the cupboard and looks very neat and tidy. Now on to the features that make the Electrolux Z4431 such a great little vacuum cleaner: Variable Power - This is a great feature as there is a dial where you can adjust the suction power of the vacuum cleaner, This is really handy as for things such as laminate flooring you can set it to low suction as it is easy for the vacuum cleaner to clean this kind of surface. However say you have a really thick carpet or rug and need a really... Read review
