...Electric Light Orchestra were one of THE bands of the 1970s. Formed by Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne from the ashes of The Move, they fused the sounds of the rock band with elements of the classics. Things did not go according to plan, at least in Wood?s mind and after two albums he went his own way (with Wizard and others). This left Lynne to explore and develop this orchestral rock fusion to its peak. At the time of this album ELO were in their fully established line up of Jeff Lynne (Lead guitar and vocals), Kelly Groucutt (Bass and vocals), Richard Tandy (Keyboards), Bev Bevan (Drums), Mik Kaminski (violin), Hugh McDowell (cello), Melvyn Gale (cello). ...ELO's third album, released early in 1974, was the first on which leader Jeff Lynne successfully honed his songwriting and arranging skills down to shorter, more commercial numbers. The first two had been far more experimental, one being a collection of nine separate tracks (almost separate projects) split between Jeff and original co-leader Roy Wood, and one a set of five pretty lengthy pieces. This was closer to the mark. Although Jeff hadn't yet mastered the knack of writing commercial songs that were potential hit singles in his sleep, here he came up with a more cohesive programme of songs and instrumentals, with a better, less self-indulgent balance between the main instruments of violin, cellos and synth. Bleach 15

Advantages: A great story and great art
Disadvantages: Too short for the money!

...The 15th volume from Tite Kubo's epic manga. The story picks up where it left off in the previous volume. The main character "Ichigo" spends most of the volume training to master a new power that will help him in his quest to save his friend Rukia. It does annoy me when the protagonist doesnt really do anything for a hundred or so pages but in Bleach it is different. There are many other battles going on through the story and the other characters are popular enough to maintain an interesting story. Ther is some great animation in this book. The battles seem to fly out of the page being wild and exadurated. Detail is retained however and it is a really impressive thing to see. I can only imagine how difficult it is to draw someone getting more powerful. This series centers around people gaining new levels of strength and speed...

Vox VT15 Guitar Amp

Advantages: LOADS of features. Good sound. Quite versatile!
Disadvantages: Some may find it confusing to understand, get the sound they want etc. Some presets lack the oomph

...I got this for £155 The Vox VT15 is one of these modeling amps. It has: "VOX Valve Reactor circuit that uses a 12AX7 to produce real tube power amp sound" Just the one 12ax7 tube. Speaker wise it has 1x 8 inch 4 ohm speaker, Vox "original" they say it is. Now for the overwhelming amount of features this lil bugger has! . 22 amp models . 3 banks for each amp model (so 66) . 12 effects . 22 song presets . 4 channels letting you save 2 of your own sounds in each (so 8) . A power level switch at the back so you can turn down the amp down from 15W down to 0.2W. Other features like many amps it has a headphone socket but this one is a 3.5mm one unlike most, the smaller kind. May be more convenient but for this you pay in sound quality via headphones. Noise reduction is also available. The knobs are cream coloured chicken...
