Ideal Bedroom Speakers

Advantages: Compact inexpensive bi-wireable 2 way speaker 90W power handling
Disadvantages: Needs careful placement to avoid boomy bass. Synthetic beechwood finish is rather ersatz

...I brought these Eltax speakers to brighten up one of many bedroom DAB mini hi-fi units that we have in our home. In the main these mini systems tend to come with woefully inadequate speakers and so can be immensely improved by the simple act of upgrading the speakers to something with a semblance of frequency response. I didn't want to pay a lot for a set of speakers which would, in the main, only be heard by guests but I did want to get something halfway decent. A bit of research revealed these units along with several other alternatives were available at around £50 from Richer Sounds. I set off to listen to these Eltax units alongside the Kef Cresta 10, and the Gale 3010. Eltax Liberty 5 versus Mission 702e

Advantages: fantastic 'big', rich sound. Very good price.
Disadvantages: quite deep, need to be away from wall

...demonstrations of both products (albeit in different shops!), and much to my own astonishment,I opted for the Eltax. I had fully intended on the basis of equal reviews to go for the Mission by virtue of it being from bass-ported not rear like the Eltax. However I couldn't ignore the fact that the Eltax had a considerably superior definition of bass. It was clearer and smoother than the Mission, which was quite bass-heavy and boomy in comparison. The only drawback is that they are both slightly deeper in size than the Mission and rear bass-ported which means they shouldn't be placed directly against the wall. Notwithstanding this however, they are a seriously class act, can handle 100 watts of power and deliver a depth and quality of sound which, if you're used to compact speakers, will take your breath away....

...I bought this controller on eBay for around £40. They are meant to be coming out early this year. I ordered a white version because everyone has the standard black controllers. Considering that the normal PS3 SIXAXIS Controllers are around £35 new, it is cheap for what you are getting. This controller will be available in both black and white. There is only 1 big difference between the SIXAXIS and the Dualshock 3 controllers. This is that the Dualshock 3s have a vibration unit that gives the user feedback in some games. For example in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, when you go on the curb of the track, it rumbles until you get off it, just like driving on one in real life. ...When i first got my PlayStation3 i had to say i was disappointed with the somewhat lightweight and flimsy feeling Sixaxis Controller as it didn't quite have the sturdiness and comfort of the Dual Shock 2 for the Sony PlayStation 2. So it's not hard to guess just how pleased i was that Sony had overcome a patent disagreement and managed to release a Dual Shock 3 controller. It has the right amount of weight in it and it doesn't affect the motion sensors in the controller either, it really does feel quite right between your hands. The New trigger style L2 and R2 buttons remain the same as the Sixaxis but whether or not you like these buttons is just down to personal preference, i found them hard to use at first with my fingers slipping off of them but in due time i got used to it no bother. You can't actually see inside all of the community lots, however with some such as the library or the gym you can. You are also able to buy more specific things now - for example, there is a book shop so you can buy a specific book, or you can buy specific ingrediants to make different meals. It's easy to move from one Sim to the next, although having Sims in various places around the neighborhood obviously makes it harder to keep track of them than if they were all sitting around the house. There is no lag whatsoever however. You can literally follow your Sim as they run to the grocery store or the beach, with no loading screens or anything like that. Oddly, Sims 3 actually runs much faster on my laptop than Sims 2 did! The actual...
