...Embassy Suites On a recent visit to California, I was booked into this hotel because it was close to places I had to visit for work. The hotel itself is only a short drive from the airport (it took about half an hour in a hire car, and not knowing where I was going) and is located in La Jolla which is apparently quite an affluent area, featuring banks and houses and hotels as well as restaurants and a rather nice shopping mall. It's easy to drive into the hotel and should you ask for it there is valet parking in the high rise car park, but I just parked round the back of the hotel. Once inside the hotel, check in was quick and efficient and I was immediately impressed with the well set out entrance lobby featuring some nice little touches such as plentiful flowers. Suite Dreams!

Advantages: Complimentary parking and breakfast, best price guarantee via web
Disadvantages: Drinks a little expensive.

...Finding myself with a mid morning flight departure of 10am from San Francisco Airport meant I had to find accommodation close to the airport for our final night. Like most people, I don't particularly relish spending a night in an Airport hotel, as it seems to be far more a functional expenditure than it adding anything to the holiday. B&B perks at a big chain hotel in Phoenix

Advantages: Excellent hotel for small-scale conventions; spacious; love the full-scale breakfast, happy hour, fridge and microwave
Disadvantages: No ghosts, a corporate hotel

...All right, I confess. I go to science fiction conventions. If I was going to Phoenix just to sightsee, I would have chosen a haunted hotel like the Hotel San Carlos, but I was invited to Leprecon 29 and it was held at the Embassy Suites--Phoenix North location. Generally, it's harder for me to warm up to corporate hotels. They usually give courteous service, yet it is impersonal. The staff frequently lacks the pride of ownership an independently-run establishment does. Although the Phoenix North location is a big chain hotel with cookie-cutter decorated rooms, its amenities and perks make it stand out refreshingly different from others. The Best Place to stay in New York

Advantages: Value for money, quality of accommodation, breakfast included, location
Disadvantages: NONE

...I stayed here just before Christmas 2005 and was overwhelmed by how wonderful this hotel is. It is excellent value for money (especially considering that you are getting bed and breakfast and not just the room). The facilities are fab and I loved the location - our room overlooked the Hudson River and the view was fab! The hotel staff are wonderful and really go out of their way to help. On arrival, I asked if it would be possible to have a room with a view of the river and they found us a great room on the top floor with an AMAZING view. We paid no more than a standard room so it's worth asking for. Likewise, we asked if we could have a fridge in place of the provided minibar (to store juice and snacks etc). The guy was up with the fridge in under 5 minutes - wonderful. The rooms themselves are actually suites - a bedroom...

Astarte suites in Santorini island

Advantages: Views, suite, infinity pool, privacy

...Akrotiri village. Akrotiri village is located to one of the cornerstones of Santorini, which is about 15min. from Fira by car, and near to more of the island's beaches. Ok, I selected the area so now I had to decide among 30 hotels. The bad thing was that most of them were hardly 4 star hotels. Then when I believed that I had run out of luck, I received the F.T. newspaper. You are now all asking how did receiving a newspaper helped? The answer is simple. While I was reading the newspaper I saw an article regarding Santorini island. The journalist recommended a family running hotel near Akrotiri village! The name of that hotel was Astarte suites. A cheap hotel worth thinking about

Advantages: Location, price, clean rooms, good equipment levels.
Disadvantages: Limited choice of breakfast, no view from the room window

...Stayed at the Clarion Hotel & Suites Selby for a week, it was very conveniently situated 100yds from a sub way station which is only a couple of stops from downtown Toronto. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants & shops should you decide to stay locally. It was built in the late 19th century & Ernest Hemmingway stayed there with his wife in the 1920s. The hotel still has that period look about it which won't appeal to everyone. Our room was situated in the basement & had been recently refurbished, the room was clean & quite well equipped with en-suite bathroom with shower/bath. Other facilities include air conditioning, telephone, comforatble queen size bed, iron & iron board, multi channel TV, sitting chairs, wi-fi, hair dryer & ample drawer & wardrobe space. Gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Toronto

Advantages: Lovely large, clean rooms

...I visited this hotel with my then-boyfriend in March a couple of years back and I can't fault it. We booked it through Travelscope - a travel agent that advertises its promotional rates in the paper. I was a bit wary of this, but I had nothing to worry about, everything went smoothly and they had some really good optional trips organised, including a trip to Niagara Falls which was included in the price. We chose to upgrade to this 4 star hotel from a 3 star as it didn't work out that much more expensive and the room facilities seemed a lot better. We weren't disappointed - we had 2 seperate rooms in our suite, a bedroom with 2 double beds, leading onto a spacious bathroom, with a shower, toilet and bath, and the sink in a seperate area, with classy marble sides and a huge mirror. Minto Place Suite Hotel Ottawa Canada

Advantages: A Suite of Rooms to spread out in without an exhorbitant price tag
Disadvantages: None

...We have stayed at the 'Minto' twice and have booked another visit for later this year. We have always enjoyed our stays there (hence the re-book) and are especially looking forward to this year as it has recently been completely re-furbished. The pictures on the website look great. We find that, as a family of five, with three children suite hotels are definitely the way to go. We appreciate having the extra space, our own lounge, kitchen and laundry room. Our children were quite young when we first went (the youngest was only just one) and it was so much more relaxing not to be confined to just one or two adjoining rooms. We always prefer breakfasting in our room so the kitchen is great to have and the children have space to spread out in the lounge, watch a little tv, even play with some toys if they are still young enough...

The Other Side Of Nelly: Suit

Advantages: Great production
Disadvantages: Poor rhymes

..."Suit" is the second half of a double album by Nelly released in 2004. It has him work in his smoother form, with music which is more R&B-like, than suited to rap. This means that you have a choice with Nelly's music, whether you enjoy his grittier side, or his singing side, to then pick a CD to match your preference. 1. "Play It Off" To set the scene for this album, we get a massive collaboratiion by Nelly as he gets a chance to rp as Pharrell does the production and singing for him. Although their work rarely comes together, when it does, such as in "Flap Ya Wings" (off "Sweat"), it is always top-quality. The pair work together amazingly, and with the futuristic Neptunes beats, and Pharrell's great falsetto singing, it all came together nicely. **Four Stars** 2. "Pretty Toes" I was extremely impressed by this tune...
