...a great idea as it ensures that you get the type of service you want on board. The staff on board the flights spoke many different languages and these were announced before take off. During the flight we had settled down to watch a movie and a member of the cabin crew came to our seat and asked my name and as I turned around there was a cake in a box for us with "Happy Honeymoon" on and 2 glasses of champagne, this has been arranged by my colleagues at work with our Emirates Rep and was a real suprise! The cabin crew took a picture of my husband and I and put it in a special Emirates cardboard frame which I thought was a lovely idea and really got us in the holiday mood. There were several other couples on the flight celebrating their honeymoon and they did not want the fizz so we ended up having theirs too which was very nice...

Holiday !

Advantages: Nice sweet film, romantic comedy
Disadvantages: Not the best romantic comedy I have seen, some may find it too sickly sweet!

Wanna Fly, Then Fly Emirates

Advantages: Comfortable, Staff, Evrything..

Emirates - Flying High

Advantages: Award winning Airline of 2001, efficient service, excellent in-flight entertainment with live on-board cameras showing front views, comfortable flight, plenty of Emirates stop-over offers
Disadvantages: none really…hope it expands its fleet faster and adds the US sector sooner!

The Holiday - a good chick flick

Advantages: Lighthearted, good cast
Disadvantages: Predictable

...The Holiday is a chick flick type film although it is not quite your normal chick flick. It is based around the story of two girls , Amanda, played by Cameron Diaz and Iris played by Kate Winslet. Amanda is a film trailer producer who has just broke up with her boyfriend, she lives in LA. Iris lives in Surrey in a little cottage and is a writer for a paper. She is still in love with her ex boyfriend who she works with and has just found out he is getting engaged. Amanda starts searching on the Internet for some sort of holiday to get away and try and forget what has happened. She stumbles across Iris's cottage on a website and contacts her about coming over to stay. Iris jumps at the chance after all the pain she has been put through. ...The Holiday- I tried to get to see his at the cinema but i unfortunately missed out. Although after reading the reviews it was a mixed opinion, so as soon as it came out i purchased it so that i could judge for myself and its a great film. With Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Jude Law and Cameron Diaz it was an all star cast and a hopeless romantic film a definate chich flick. Its about Iris(Kate Winslet) who is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman and then thee is Amanda (cameron Diaz) who realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. While trawling through the internet Amanda finds Iris' house being advertised on a house swap website and they both agree to swap houses over the Christmas period. Emirates - highly rated!

Advantages: Not having to fly from London Airports, nice food, entertainment choices
Disadvantages: Aircraft getting a bit old, longer journey times, shopping temptation in Dubai

...amount of time. I usually fly economy class and find the seating as comfortable as you can expect in "steerage". Blankets (pale yellow, a bit synthetic and static-y) and mini-pillows (clearly for people with mini-heads) are provided but I prefer to bring a fleece with me. Emirates have been flying since 1985 so it's no surprise that some planes in the fleet are a bit old with dated decor and creaky seats. However, it has recently announced plans to update the fleet with new super-duper double-decker Airbuses. When it comes to safety, I feel completely safe as Emirates has not had one "fatal passenger event" since it started operation. Service - checking in at BHX is pain free as there are rarely big queues. I tend to get a cab to the airport and start my holiday with some magazines and a muffin from Starbucks. As for service...

Mediterranean charter flights are now something resembling a sausage machine - cram you in at this end, pack you neatly in rows and churn you out at the other as fully processed holiday makers - an experience to be dispensed with as quickly as possible, over and done with in as short a time as possible! Larnaca to Malta - the Emirates way

Advantages: Spacious seats, choice of economy or business class, good onboard facilities.
Disadvantages: A little pricey for a short journey. Crew uniforms could be brightened up a bit.

...Each February we make our way from Cyprus to Malta, to join my parents whilst they are there on holiday. From Cyprus, there are 2 airlines to choose from, or so they would have you believe - Air Malta or Emirates. Choose Air Malta and it will cost you more and you will end up on Emirates anyway, as it's a code share flight. So, we're lucky! We get to fly on with a great airline, fab service, good food, excellent entertainment and, dare I say it - no delays! The food on board is a little different than UK airline foods and a meal I always look forward to. Usually some nice fresh fruit, salad, a range of sliced meat, water, juice etc - and real cutlery.
