Advantages: addictive, covered with strategy, classic AoE sounds, multiplayer on one system, very cheap
Disadvantages: battle animations are pretty lame, kind of slow compared to better known TBS games

...Ok so I was just reading the other reviews of this game and honestly I don't think those other reviews do this game any justice. Age of Empires: The Age of Kings is a turn-based strategy(TBS) game for the DS based off of the PC title of the same name. Yes, the PC version was an RTS but I actually never thought that game was as amazing as everyone said it was. It was fun for a while but it required a lot more managing than a Command and Conquer game required and that took away from the action. Age of Empires for the DS however is more in line with a game like Advance Wars and its sequals. What made Advance Wars so much fun was its addictiveness. After great success of Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires, KOEI (the company behind Dynasty Warriors) decided to continue with their "Empires" ideas and create yet another successful strategy game. High expectations were around in the Etheridge camp from this game as I had waited a long while to buy it. At last I arrived back at my home, and switched on… …I put inside the Age of Empires CD Rom in to my computer drive and a little screen came up. I began the installation process – happiness at last as the Etheridges are on their way to having a new game in their portfolio! And the installation continued… Installation... ...A couple of years back I realised that I had made one of the best decisions of my life, to Install age of empires two, age of conquerors. This game is still stunning, even to today’s standards, You can play it out as the Aztecs and even the Japanese, but this game still has a very good sense of originally that comes with it. You cant really compare this game to some modern games, that quite frankly, are rushed, and can’t even live up to the standards of age of empires two. Like its predecessor, age of kings, age of conquerors, still has the amazing features that still make it a very playable game. Age of conqueres spans from the early Vikings all the way to the, well lets say, the early gun powder age.
