...My boyfriend and I recently invited some friends round for dinner and as we were looking around our local Tesco's for something tasty to dish up, we came across Tesco's Finest Salmon en Croute. Packaging Tesco's Finest Salmon en Croute comes in a cardboard box which is decorated in the same sort of style as other Tesco's Finest products. The box is black and grey in colour with Tesco's Finest written across the front. Salmon en Croute is also written across the front and there is a large picture of the product when it is cooked splashed across the front also. There is also a product description on the packaging which states 'Prime salmon fillet. Butter enriched puff pastry. Spinach and lemon sauce.' Hossegor, France

Advantages: Beats any British beach holiday hands down
Disadvantages: Strong currents on some days

...My family and I started going to Hossegor, (which is situated in the Bay Of Biscay, SW France), when I was about 5, way back in the mid 80's. Well, up he coast a tiny bit from there actually). We always stay at the same place when we're there. Its a 4star campsite called Le Vieux Port. The campsite has everything that you'd need. Even as young children we always had something to do. The entance consists of a long kind of driveway, along which runs a football pitch, crazy golf and a mini go-kart thing for the kiddies. It all looks very classy, with flags from different countries running down both sides. Then you approach the reception and main bar areas of the site. Se7en Deadly Sins

Advantages: Great film, with good acting and nice criminal masterplan

However there are a few exceptions and Aix-en Provence is one city that I always enjoy and would have no hesitation in recommending. Aix (pronounced x) is situated 25 km from Marseille in the centre of Provence. Getting there ************ By plane the nearest international airport is Marseille 25 km away. There are frequent flights from the u.k with several airlines. Fares vary enormously so it?s worth doing your homework before buying! Marseille airport has several car hire outlets and again I would suggest you check via the Internet, as it is usually cheaper to pre book from the U.K. There are fast rail links from Paris to Aix and the TGV station is well situated in the centre of town. Lyon- France's alternative city break.

Advantages: Wonderful city

...it is a 50 minute journey. Accommodation Lyon like any other major city offers a wide range of hotels at different prices. I personally stayed at the very reasonable and very nice Campanile Part-Dieu. This hotel was ideal. The rooms came with en suite bathroom and cable TV. The rooms were clean and the hotel itself modern and very well looked after. The best thing of all about the hotel though was its situation. Part-Dieu is one of the main areas in Lyon. Firstly, it is home to a large SNCF railway station that links Lyon with the rest of France. Secondly, and most significantly for anyone on holiday, the 'Centre Commercial' is here. This is a massive shopping centre with over 260 shops and spanning 4 floors; one of the largest shopping centres in Europe with all big name shops and some really nice places to eat. If you...

Last weekend, me and my partner decided to go on an impulsive day trip to France, so late Saturday night, we booked returned ferry tickets to Calais from Dover. Booking the tickets was, in itself, a little bit of a nightmare if you take into account how many different companies are trying to sell you tickets for the same ferry, some more expensive than others, and often you have to fill out a form and then it'll tell you how much, so it can be time consuming if you're wanting to shop around. After looking at a few different sites, we found one (I can't remember what it was) that had foot passenger tickets as £6 each, which was cheaper even than the Sea France website. Aix is a wonderful city in the south-east of France, near Marseille, in the "Bouches-du-Rhône"; the weather there makes it europeean, american, even japanese people's favourite holidays destination in France... A large part of inhabitants is student, so Aix is a young and dynamic town, always lively, winter as summer! 130000 inhabitants... among which 40000 students!! Many of them are strangers, they come from everywhere, England of course but also Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Spain, Russia, Italy, Romania, Poland...
