Enchanting Enchanted

Advantages: Great fun for all the family
Disadvantages: not long enough!

...I firth watched this film when I sent my husband out to blockbusters to hire "Stardust" on DVD and he came back with "Enchanted" instead! I have been hooked ever since! From a quick glance you would be forgiven for thinking this is a film just for children, especially little girls, but I have to say after watching it once, I even got my husband to admit he liked it! It starts off in cartoon animation, with Giselle, living in the forest with her animal friends. She is about to be eaten by a giant ogre but is saved by handsome prince edward. They are about to live happily ever after until Edwards evil stepmother pushes her into a magical wishing well and she ends up in modern day new york. This is when the film turns into live action. ...I love Disney fairytales, and kids films in general, despite being probably a bit too old for them at 24! Enchanted by Disney old and new

Advantages: Funny, light-hearted and action-packed
Disadvantages: The iritatingly sinckly sweet songs are irritatingly catchy

.../Characters *************** Amy Adams - Giselle Adams was a relative unknown before Enchanted which I think worked in her favour as her performance came with no pre-conceptions. She did a sterling job of making this ridiculously cheesy sickly sweet fairytale girl not grate on the viewer's nerves. The hint of irony and humour was always present and contributed to the charm of Princess Giselle. Patrick Dempsey - Robert Philips I remember Patrick Dempsey from films where he always played the geeky "loser in love" (Think the ancient 80's classic Can't Buy me Love") and I don't watch Greys Anatomy, so watching him as the love interest was a challenge, but I thought he played the perfect, slightly awkward straight man to Giselle's hyperactive bundle of fluffiness and showed a genuine warmth I found endearing. IT COMPLETELY ENCHANTED ME... WHAT ABOUT YOU???

Advantages: fab cast, fab film, utterly fabulous from start to finish!!!!
Disadvantages: none whatsoever!!!

...First of all, before I say anything else, I want to re-iterate something I said a long time ago, when I was doing Eve6kicksass' Celebrity Birthday challenged and realised Susan Sarandon was one of the stars who shared a birthday with me - I just don't like that woman. After watching a film where she played an evil queen several years later, i don't feel any differently. I REALLY don't like her... A week ago, I hadn't even heard of "Enchanted". I'm sure there must have been a bit of hype about it, but I was completely unaware until a girl in my work mentioned she was going to see it at the weekend. Advantages: Extremely entertaining, visually pleasing, very funny.
Disadvantages: None.

Advantages: Great Musical and Disney Film
Disadvantages: Our Predictions didn't come true!

..., such as: Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty. Need to go on. The Queen doesn?t want her thrown taken off her, so she tries her very best to prevent a marriage. And that also includes pushing Giselle down a well, she ends up in a real place and she seeks her way to find home, and tagging along are a lawyer and his daughter who found her in Manhattan. The characters were played brilliantly by all the actors/actresses. And I suggest that there should be an Enchanted 2 as it has won tonnes of awards, and therefore shows that it?s popular. I thought this film to be brilliant. I can?t really explain why, it could be due to the fact that it?s a musical, and I seriously like musicals. I also am a fan of Disney, but more of the modern day films like Wall-E and nowadays films. However this film I shall watch over and over...
