...I am now 17 years old, but I do still love watching the odd Thomas The Tank Engine story very ocassionly. I grew up watching it and I had, and still do have, most of the videos and story books. I was pleased to discover that the programmes and concept is still going strong. They are continuing to make new stories and introduce more characters, both of which have some positive and negative costs. I will write everything that I know about Thomas The Tank Engine and try and gives those of you who haven't seen it before, a good idea of what it all involves. Tomy Thomas the Tank Engine, it's a true friend of kids

Advantages: A great toy in your child's collection.
Disadvantages: None in my opinion .

...Thomas the engine and it's friends are all very popular toy trains. My 22 month old son grew interested in these after watching their shows. He wouldn't ask for anything besides these trains. He also remembers all their names very well, Thomas being the foremost of them all. I have collected a whole series of Thomas engines and Tomy is one of those. It's a dark blue coloured engine with round eyes that attract the children. It's bottom is red and it has a steam outlet right on it's top. It works well with a set of tracks that are sold separately. It's size is also very appropriate. I think my son wouldn't part with it. He simply loves it and expresses that this is his best friend. Mine came in for 12 pounds. It's a very good bargain for this great toy. It's a one in itself toy that can keep your child busy for hours...

...Edward the very useful engine is a book based on the Thomas TV series. The front cover of the book has a picture of Edward and Thomas and there is a purple banner above the picture with the title of the book in yellow lettering. The back cover of the book is also purple and has a yellow square with smaller pictures of a few other titles available in the collection. This edition is in hard back. THE STORY The book starts by telling us a bit about some of the engines on the Island of Sodor. Gordon was good at pulling the Express, Percy was good at carrying the mail and Edward was good at being a back engine. Here comes a Fire Engine!

...My husbands Aunt very kindly always buys our son (Oakley), and our nephew, a gift for christmas and she likes it to be fun, but educational. She gave him this 'Here comes a Fire Engine' DVD for Christmas 2006, when he was two and this remains his favourite DVD today. Our nephew had 'Here comes a Digger' which is also very good, but this one wins hands down every time! This 'real life' film is narrated by 'Uncle Nick' who has a lovely deep but jolly voice. ...Early Learning Centre Lights and Sounds Fire Engine.... This toy was something I knew jack would like and I asked his Nanna to buy him it, and I was right he totally loved it. All Christmas day he wouldn't put it down and it has been one of his most played with toys ever since. The Fire Engine itself is quite a good size and chunky in design which makes it perfect for small hands. The age range of this toy is from 12 months plus. The Fire engine comes with three little firemen that each have a hole in their underside so that they can be fitted in to the ladder or in the driving seats of the engine. My very first Thomas the tank engine set

Advantages: Very sturdy unbreakable toys., Quite inexpensive., Easy to clean.
Disadvantages: none that i can think of

...Before my son Callum's first birthday, he is now 2 1/2 years old, we bought him the My First Thomas range of toys. These are chunky plastic engines and carriages etc. They are unbreakable, Callum throws them so hard sometimes and also they have been stood on and not broken too! The prices start at £4.99 and i think they are well worth every penny, seeing as he still has them all in working order. My son has all the main engines, Thomas Edward, Henry, Gordon,James and Percy and also he has Toby the tram engine and Harold the helicopter as well as a troublesome truck, Annie and Clarabel (Thomas's Carriages) an express coach, Bertie the Bus and a lorry. There is such a good range and you can even get a nice plastic track for Thomas and his friends to go along. You can obtain all these toys from mothercare, Toys R us, Tesco...

...First, let's get something straight - I've heard this band referred to time and time again as 'Guitar Rock' and the Engineers are most certainly NOT a guitar rock band. They use guitars yes, but that's about as far as it goes. Let's just forget the labels for a minute and take an open minded listen to the Engineers debut, self titled album. The Engineers musical style is reminiscent of Pink Floyd with almost every song on the album paying homage to the laid back, trippy feel they pioneered.
