NEED A BREAK - CONSIDER ENNISKILLEN
Advantages: friendly people, clean and lots to do
Disadvantages: none
...Enniskillen is the main town of County Fermanagh - in the west of Northern Ireland. Beautifully located on the shores of Lough Erne - Fermanagh's most famous feature.
Built around a island, Enniskillen has become a very prosperous town in recent years and offers all visitors with a wide selection of things to do.
The town boasts an amazing history, some of which is dated back to the plantation of Ireland in the 1600's. The famous Enniskillen castle and watergate is linked to this time period.
Along with the castle and Watergate, Enniskillen has lots of other historical features such as the County Museum and Regimental Museum, Townhall, St. Michael's Catherdral, St. Macartin's Catherdral, Coles Monument, Forthill Park, The Convent, along with other features which date back to early years - the hospital is built on the site...

I have resorted to five stars for Lough Erne Golf Resort
Advantages: Excellent food, accommodation and service
Disadvantages: None
...that the whole thing was a surprise so I had to pretend to her that I was doing nothing for my birthday. The plan was that my husband would tell me about the night away on my actual birthday, the day before we were due to depart.
I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and wanted to go somewhere within reasonable driving distance, because we would not get away until early evening and we would have to leave around noon the next day for home. From Belfast the drive to the Resort is 81 miles about 1 and a half to 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The Resort is on the Belleek Road, 4 miles from Enniskillen and was quite easy to find, there were numerous signposts in Enniskillen directing traffic to the resort.
The Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa
The Resort is 4 miles outside Enniskillen in the county of Fermanagh. County...

...Enniskillen
Enniskillen, Northern Ireland was my most recent jaunt. Located in lush county Fermanagh, on the Western Coast of NI, Enniskillen was a pleasure to visit, and somewhere i?ll be most content to visit again. Being from Derry, I don?t often get the chance to visit county Fermanagh, as it doesn?t border my home, and for a young person, it just doesn?t have the reputation of being an exciting place. But i sorely miss-judged Enniskillen. it may not be great for shopping or excitement,
+++ First Impressions of the Town +++
I live near a city, so my first impressions were that the town was very small. However it was extremely tidy. Enniskillen is a town on an island, which makes it completely unique, everywhere you look, there is water, and you must cross bridges to get into the town and even more bridges to get to...

The Centre of the Ulster Lakelands
Advantages: Endless opportunities for beautiful scenary, and a water-based holiday.
Disadvantages: The weather is not always what it could be, but where is? Also all traffic has to pass through the 'island', leading to unpleasant traffic delays
...Enniskillen is a genuine 'Island Town' - it is said that the name means 'Island of Kathleen'. The River Erne, which joins the Upper Lough (the amaller, and full of islands), and the Lower Lough (a much larger expanse of water), 'splits' to surround the town centre.
As well as many of the major national chains, there are any locally operated establishments, and you can be sure of many bargains, especially as the proximity of the 'value of the punt' is a temptation for shoppers to cross the border into Eire.
The are excellent hotels and restaurants and hotels, where you can 'stay', eat and drink, and umpteen pubs where you can drink, eat and often 'stay'.
The people of Enniskillen are very friendly and welcoming, and visitors for all over Eupope come for the fishing - with so many lakes and rivers and the Atlantic Coast within...

Advantages: most of me!
Disadvantages: me when I'm tired!

APPEARANCE
I?m 5ft 8inches high! So my dr says but I think I?m slightly smaller than that! I have long dark brown hair (not natural!!) and green eyes. And I?m probably about normal size, but like all woman I?d like to be thinner!

I presently live in Essex, but I?m from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, but just to confuse things I was born in Westminster! My mum moved to London when she was about 19, I?m not sure whether she moved here with my dad or became friends with him in London because they were both from Enniskillen?! When I was about 5/6 months old she moved back home with me and my dad stayed in London.
I lived in about 10 different houses up until I was 10 and my mum re...

Really have to get this if you love English folk!
Advantages: Wonderful English folk at its best!
Disadvantages: none
...We saw this ensemble several weeks ago live when they played the Enniskillen arts festival and we were totally blown away by the professionalism of the music and the versatility of the musicians.
So we bought this album at the concert and got Norma Waterson and Tim to sign the cover for us, a really nice touch was the personal warmth of the musicians and Norma oozes charm and personality!
The album is true English yuletide folk with a wide variety of musical flavour and a total of 17 delicious tracks, enough for all to fing some that will suit their own personal tastes.
My favourites are tracks 16 and 17!
I have been playing this in my car CD player all week and I now look forward to taking long car journeys to do home visits as I can enjoy several tracks in one trip.
Go to amazon.co.uk and you can sample all 17 tracks (30...

Not just about me
Advantages: I don't know if there are any advantages to being me!
Disadvantages: I'm too short
...I am related to another Ciao member - can you guess who?
I originally come from a small town, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. I managed to talk my parents into letting me leave home at the age of 16 and come to London. I was always a very responsible, lovable, child adored by everyone. Coming to London in the late 70's - WOW. My friend and I arrived to stay in a bedsit with a guy we used to know at home. By this stage he had a couple of friends staying who worked nightshift so we had to bedshare - we slept in the bed during the night and got up when the guys came home (honest). This set the scene for the next couple of years. Working (yes we did stay awake long enough to get a job - we needed money to buy something to hit all the mice that shared the bedsit with us), partying all night, Portobello on Saturday, Camden on sunday...

Waterloo
Advantages: Massive fullscale battle scenes
Disadvantages: Those horse riding moments
...with scenes of the French marching, the different conditions the armies were in when before the battle, the British well rested, the French heavily marched.
Then not long after this the battle of Waterloo starts to take shape with the armies taking position. The films portrayal of the Irish regiment isn't great, no-one in Enniskillen talks like that for a start but I'll move on. The battle scene itself is amazing, it is long lasting but utterly enthralling. The film is made using 15,000 Soviet soldiers. There are no computer added men this is all live action viewing. Napoleon eventually gets the better of the British but is beaten by the arrival of the Prussians and the lateness of a third of his army. The plot is mostly historically accurate.
The actintg in this film is great, Rod Steiger as I've said before on Ciao is a superb actor. You...

Beautiful location to visit
Advantages: Lots to do
Disadvantages: its rains quite a lot
...County Fermanagh is my own home county and let me take this opportunity to tell you how wonderful it is and about the loads you could do and visit while on a break here. Fermanagh is better known to many as the region in Northern Ireland known as The Lakelands. This beautiful county lies in the West of Northern Ireland.
The main feature of Fermanagh is it's large lake called Lough Erne. The lough provides tourist with numerous activities to do such as sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, swimming, fishing as well as other activities. The jet ski championship are held in Fermanagh every year and attract a large number of tourists.
The county also has a lot of historical locations to visit such as Belleek Pottery, Enniskillen castle, Castle Coole, Florencourt House, Famine graveyard at Adress ( near the village of Kesh...
