Canon EOS 450D - Superb!

Advantages: Extremely easy to use, fantastic picture quality, long battery life.

eos 450d

Advantages: excellent picture quality. clear lcd screen. simple menu

...Canon have released an excellent performing camera. This camera is nearly as good as the more expensive eos 40D. The menu is incredibly easy to use even for a novice like me. The 3 inch lcd screen is very clear and simple to understand. The 12 million pixels creates beautiful pictures and gives you massive scope for enlarging and cropping and still create excellent clarity pictures after zooming in on PC. The ability to take raw pictures boosts massively the potential to create imaginative pictures using software such as adobe photo shop. I used to use a canon powershot but am very pleased to have swapped to this versatile camera. Prices for this camera are still dropping and I consider this far better value than new eos 1000D....

Advantages: Superb image quality, well built, High resolution, low noise, Excellent spec.
Disadvantages: Only minor gripes, no CF card included, large and heavy compared to some.

Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. ...Review EOS 400d The canon 400D is a good camera - for the price it's a great camera. It's relatively compact; lightweight; comes with an adequate lens; has programmed settings for novices - like portrait and landscape modes; but also offers manual control of apertures, shutter speeds, white balance, ISO? so that the more experienced photographers can have fun and be a little more creative. One item to note if you are upgrading from a digital compact is that you have to use the viewfinder. The screen on the back of the camera only shows exposure information, and allows you to view photographs you have already taken. It does not let you view the scene you are about to photograph. In my opinion this is a good thing because it forces you to hold the camera properly - up against your face where it can be held steadily, instead of at arms...

Canon EOS 350D!

...are in focus and look great! There isn't much more to say on quality other than the saturation is good and the camera is good at deciphering shutter speeds and aperture, so give a good true to life photo. Overall I would say this camera is suited to amateur photographer and maybe semi pro's who want something nice and portable. Or those on a photography course for A-level and even beginning of a degree course. To conclude this is a great camera, good lens and a large range of accessories can be bough separately to improve its uses. Out went my trusty old Canon EOS 50E, which had served me well for many years, and in came the latest toy. Already having a Canon S9000 photo printer (prints A3 size photo poster prints) and another compact digital camera, I was geared up for the change.
