Canon EOS 400D Camera

Advantages: great value, reliable, can use older lenses, great quality, great battery life,
Disadvantages: extras are expensive, speed wheel too close to shot button, so many features can become confusing

...I have had this camera for around a year now and have found it to be an amazing reliable product. The battery life and features are vast although this has been superseeded by newer models with more features I believe this camera does its jobs well and the fact newer models have come out has reduced the price on the camera making it an even more a great entry level camera for the digital photographer. Also the ability to use older lenses that dont have digital features is also good as it helps to keep costs down on getting setup. The only issue I have with the camera is that one of the speed controls is on the front right a bit too close to the button for taking a picture. Which I find gets accidently moved and affects shots....

Canon EOS 450D - Superb!

...Canon have released an excellent performing camera. This camera is nearly as good as the more expensive eos 40D. The menu is incredibly easy to use even for a novice like me. The 3 inch lcd screen is very clear and simple to understand. The 12 million pixels creates beautiful pictures and gives you massive scope for enlarging and cropping and still create excellent clarity pictures after zooming in on PC. The ability to take raw pictures boosts massively the potential to create imaginative pictures using software such as adobe photo shop. I used to use a canon powershot but am very pleased to have swapped to this versatile camera. Prices for this camera are still dropping and I consider this far better value than new eos 1000D....

Advantages: Superb image quality, well built, High resolution, low noise, Excellent spec.

...I purchased my 50e new several years ago with a Canon 28-80 zoom lens as a replacement for a fully manual Practica SLR. One of the main selling points at the time was the eye controlled auto focus. This enables the camera to sense which of three focus points your eye is looking at and focus accordingly. The eye-control works extremely well and operates with the camera in the horizontal or vertical position. Once calibrated to your eye it is usually quicker than manually selecting a focus point. A depth of field preview can also be activated using eye control by looking at a small square in the top left corner of the viewfinder. EOS20D - Fantastic Camera

Advantages: Semi-pro dSLR camera, fast AF, good control of Creative Zones

...Canon have once again come good with the semi-pro EOS 20D digital SLR camera. I upgraded to the 20D after having a 300D for the past 12 months. Immediately you can feel the better build quality, the magnesium body is more rugged than the plastic 300D body, and the lens mount is more positive when attaching lenses. I photograph a lot of motor sports, and where this camera really comes into it's own is in the speed of the AF mechanism with it's 9-point focusing, the shutter speed (up to 5 shots per second) the size of the internal buffer (no more waiting around for the buffer to clear before taking more shots) and the very short power-up time (no more missed shots waiting for the camera to power-up).
