Beverley Hillbillies four classic episodes
Advantages: Lot of fun
Disadvantages: Not any to mention
...Yeehaaa!!! Yes, everyone of a certain age or older must remember the original Beverleyhill Billes TV series from the 1960s.
There are four classic episodes available on DVD from 23rd Century.
The basic idea is that a Hill Billy by he name of Jed Clampett finds oil on his apparently worthless land, and that when he sells the oil rights he and his family move to Beverley Hills where they are befriended by Mr Milburn Drysdale his banker (after all, what bank manager in the 1960s would not befriend someone with $25 million in his bank and Miss Jane Hathaway (played by Nancy Kulp), Mr Drysdales' put upon secretary who genuinely does like the Clampett family.
Jethro Bodine the cousin is played by Max Baer, Ellie Mae is played by Donna Douglas. Who I still think is the pettiest Elly Mae, including the later film version, but I...

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - Jedi Quality
Advantages: Great Special Effects, Great Sound Track, Hours of Bonus Material
Disadvantages: Story Could Have Been Stronger, Hayden Christensen
...I will try and keep this review as un-bias as possible, however I do have to admit that I am a bit of a Star Wars fan!
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is the sequel to Episode I: The Phantom Menace, it begins around 10 years after the first instalment of this prequel trilogy and in many ways it is a huge improvement. This time around the story is aimed at the frustrated love between an older Anakin Skywalker and the now senator Padme Amidala, while the rest of the film revolves around this plot, the remainer of the film seems to be the more interesting with twists and turns and some great action scenes.
The majority of the actors deliver a great performance, McGregor continues in his role as Obi Wan Kenobi and is as great as ever, Portman again plays Amidala, however this time is not irritating in the slightest (apposed...

It's a... it's a... It's a... SiN Episode?
Advantages: Cheap, value for money, decent but not outstanding gameplay
Disadvantages: Four year episodic story arc
...'ve been injected with something that's a little stronger than a tetanus booster. It's up to you, with Jessica's help, to trace Radek and get the antidote to whatever you're carrying and hopefully figure out what Elixis and SinTEK (her company) are up to?
One aspect that was immediately disappointing, as Episodes is supposedly a sequel to SiN, I was surprised by how little of the original story was told to new audiences. It does take a while to catch up and even though I had played SiN quite a few years ago, I've forgotten a lot of the story and was fairly clueless as to what had happened. This might not be a big thing for new people to the franchise, but for anyone who'd played SiN before, the lack of back-story might leave some people cold.
Built around the Half-Life 2 "Source" engine, technically Emergence is good overall. Graphically...

Roll on Episode II
Advantages: Good sfx & imaginative backdrops....eerrrr that's it!!
Disadvantages: limp story, unconvincing acting, too many commercial considerations playing to familiar & safe territory
...has finally lost the plot.
It's a slim hope that he will take on board some of the genuine negativity from his fans and prove us all wrong by producing an awesome Star Wars episode II next year.

Episode ONE
Advantages: Background the the legend that is Star Wars.
Disadvantages: Not everyones cup of tea. Needs to be taken in context.
...A lot of people seem to of been dissapointed with this film. What people forget is that this was really a scene setting movie to show the origins of all the characters that came later in the other films. Admittedly it was hyped to death before release which didn't do it any favours in my book. The storyline is a shade weak but if looked at in context can still stand up. Ray Park plays and excellent baddie in the shape of Darth Maul. He is very fluid and graceful and the fight scenes really benefit form his martial arts expertise. Liam Neeson is a very good Jedi Master and its a shame that he won't be in the second episode (hope I haven't given anything away!). Ewan McGregor does a surprisingly good job as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Natalie Porter is just plain Lovely as Queen Amidala/Padmé Naberrie. All in all, if you're a Star Wars fan, treat it...

Friends Series 8 Episodes 9-12
Advantages: Hilariously funny and addictive.
Disadvantages: Absolutley none!
...First off let me warn you - this review is looooong !!
'Friends' is an absolutely hilarious collection of 10 series of episodes following the day-to-day lives of 5 best friends living in New York, American. In my opinion, it is not the typical stereotypical American humour that I understand a lot of people dislike for its cheesiness and pathetic punch lines, it is very much your typical day-to-day problems and experiences taken in and acted in out with a very intelligent and witty sense of humour that everyone will love!
I am a very strong follower of this comic programme have almost every single episode. Series 8, I believe, is no funnier than any of the other series as I can honestly say I haven't seen a disappointing episode yet, but I believe it is slightly more addictive as it has some very interesting turns to the story line...

Episode 1 - Back in time.....
Advantages: 2 words - pod racing! Stunning Special Effects Sequence!
Disadvantages: Weak story - although perhaps setting the mood for Episode II
...We've all seen the original movies. It doesn't matter how old you were when they came out, these were the genre defining movies of their time.
Heroes v Bad Guys, good v evil.
Until George Lucas announced that he was writing more movies, many Star Wars fans had probably comitted their memories of the originals into the depths of their brains filing cabinets, only to be accessed for nostalgic and "when I was a lad" moments with friends.
Episode I, as everyone in the world knows, is the story of Anakin Skywalker, a young boy who in later life becomes the second most evil character in space history (the emporer at no 1 anyone?).
It also describes the Jedi in their prime, not as old men a la Obi Wan and Yoda in the originals.
When I heard the premise of Episode 1, I thought that this would be the movie to end all movies, the Star...

Episode 1 racer
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...The best bit of the Episode 1: The Phantom Menace movie was undoubtedly the pod race sequence, in which young Skywalker blasted over the surface of Tatooine in a contraption built using two jet engines. It's this sci-fi chariot-style race that's captured here, with those 600mph speeds recreated so well you'll feel yourself leaning back in the chair as your pod racer blasts from the starting line. Cleverly building on the race concept, the game expands it to include over 20 different kinds of vehicle, with eight different worlds to race over. Each of these worlds has its own properties, from the methane lakes to anti-gravity tunnels, as well as extra hazards such as Tusken Raider assaults on passing pods. In addition to capturing the sights and amazing sense of speed from the movie's race sequence, fans will also appreciate...

The Dick Van Dyke Show, 4 classic episodes
Advantages: Interesting look back at classic TV
Disadvantages: No special features
...The Dick Van Dyke Show was a classic of its kind. Every week people would hurry home to see what shenanigans Dick Van Dyke (Rob Petrie) his wife Laura and their brat sorry! Cute little tyke Ritchie would get up to. It started in 1961 and ran until 1966.
Rob was a writer for a comedy TV show and he shared an office with fellow writers Buddy Sorrell (Morey Amsterdam) and Sally Rogers (Rose Marie). They worker under the watchful eye of sarcastic programme producer Mel Cooley (Richard Deacon) For some reason as a child my favourite character was Mel Cooley. The slightly daffy neighbours Jerry and Millie Helper (Jerry Paris and Ann Morgan Guilbert) also add to the madness.
The series came out before colour television really caught on (even in the USA) so the entire series was filmed in black and white.
At the start of each episode...

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
Advantages: The circle is now complete
Disadvantages: But it's not the master
...So, what began a long time ago in 1977 has now come full circle to climax not very far away from a DVD player near you.
Now that the Matrix has disapeared up its own backside and The Lord Of The Rings has gone to the Grey Havens, it was the third (or sixth, depending on your point of view) of George Lucas' space opera that was left to fill the void and it does so quite nicely.
With the Republic teetering on the brink of collapse, this takes up the story after the Clone Wars that begun and the end of Episode II has been largely fought with Chancellor Palpatine having been captured and thus, needing rescued. Enter the Jedi. Obi-Wan and Annakin set things ablaze from frame one in a startling space battle reminisent of the climactic fracas from Return Of The Jedi. It's only when things take a break from the action - which fortunately in...
