...Printers are marvellous things when they work!We bought an Epson DX4000 a couple of years ago after problems with our HP printer. It was reduced in Tesco and as it is a photo copier and printer we thought it was a bargain but decided to check out the cost of the cartridges before buying. We have used various makes of cartridges over the years for previous printers but had been having problems and always having to clean to get good printing so we were wasting ink. We got sample size cartridges with the printer but bought a Multipack so we were ready when a replacement was needed. The Multipack has 4 cartridges, 1 of each black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The box is blue with a picture of a Cheetah and is in the Cheetah range, there are other ranges like Monkey. Hummingbird and Seahorse makinh it easy to spot the one you want to buy...

T0715 for Epson printers

Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

...We have a very good Epson DX6000 printer. This printer takes 4 separate inks. This comes in handy when just one colour gets low. I know its low because when I go to do some printing I will get a low ink flashing sign come up and it will then show me how much ink is left and roughly how much copying I can do before it finally runs out. It will also tell me which ink is low. I print off a lot of photographs so it is not just the black ink that runs out but the coloured ones as well. When we first had the printer we did notice that some non epson inks were cheaper and we did think of buying them. We were then informed that if we used these on this printer that was still under guarantee they might refuse to honour the guarantee as we had not used their own brand of ink. Why buy an Epson cartridge over a cheaper make?

Advantages: Great print quality from this cartridge.
Disadvantages: Can be pricey depending where you buy it from.

...An ink cartridge is not really something to wax lyrical about is it? This magenta is designed for a few Epson printers, and I use it for my Epson Stylus C84. Sorry Epson, but I use compatibles from time to time, which do the donkey work perfectly well, much cheaper. I can have a compatible from Jettec for £4 while I pay about £7.99 in PCW for the real thing from Epson. Having said that, I recognize the quality of Epson and like to use one of their own brands every so often. They are readily available, easy to insert, prevent irritating messages - like "the cartridge you are using is not a genuine Epson T0453 - do you wish to continue using it ?", and always work well. Epson RX585 do we really need 6 cartridges?

Advantages: All in one, easy to use, looks nice

...I bought this Epson RX585 printer as a replacement of two other printers that I owned HP and older Canon. These days there are plenty of cheap printers on the market, however I did not want to follow "pay peanuts, get monkeys", so I decided to buy something for a bit more reasonable price to ensure better quality. I have also compared Epson prices for its cartridges with other printer manufacturers and found Epson was cheaper. The whole printer is easy to set up, good software for printing, scanning, easy to use. I use it mostly for printing documents, scanning, copying, tried once to print photos. I am quite happy with speed printing, could be a bit quieter on fast track mode. It copies documents with use of the scanner and single button in main menu. This is not very fast method of copying. I have not use it too much...

Roger Me Stupid, Cheap Inkjet Cartridges

Advantages: Cheap and Just As Good As Epson

...The cost of inkjet cartridges is something that is close to my heart, and if I were to buy genuine Epson cartridges for my Epson Stylus D68 then it would cost me £25. This is an extortionate figure when you consider that that is half the cost of the printer!!!!!! So always on the hunt for a bargain I scoured the length and breadth of upper brook street in Manchester to find a suitable generic cartridge. The Mac and PC centre round the back of the Manchester Aquatic Centre had just that these babies cost me £12 for all four......... Genuine Epson Ink Black T0481 better or not

Advantages: great photo quality & long print run
Disadvantages: expensive

...over 500 sheets but obviously it all depends on what you are printing, I work in the digital imaging field and this series lasts alot longer that the black cartridges used in the D series printers for instance. The T0481 epsom cartridge holds 13ml of ink and like i said lasts noticably longer than many other cartridges PRICE Epson £15.34 as of 17/07/09 & Just Ink & Paper - £13.89 Free pp If printing on glossy photo paper I would recommend that you use only the original T0481 black cartridge to ensure the ink stays put on the paper, if you use ink that does not dry as fast and has a lower quality it will degrade even before the print has dried thus the picture would end up in the bin so don't waste your money on poor quality. Photo quality prints demand the T0481 however if you just need to print on copy paper, text etc...

Uses Epson C66 ink cartridges

Advantages: Cheap to buy, Cheap running costs, Good print Quality
Disadvantages: No good for printing on gloss paper

...I bought this printer because my Epson C66 died I paid £43 from ebuyer.com okay it doen't come with a usb cable but most printers don't and you can purchase them from as little as a £1 the D68 is just a C66 with a face lift it the print quality is very good not photo perfect one thing that should be noted is that if you planning to print on gloss paper get Epson R220 or above as when printing on gloss it tends bleed and run but it's very good on photo matt the build quality seems to be as good as the C66 I used about 70 sets of cartridges on my old C66 all none originals except the set that came with it another thing that I really like about this printer is thatthey take the C66 cartridges which are cheaper that buying the D68 cartridges even the compatable ones obviously Epson just change the part numbers to fool people into buying...

Much better Than Ink Refills, Worthy of the investment

...After using cheap ink refills in our epson printer and seeing the loss of quality, I opted to buy the real deal and get this multipack of epson inks that are compatible with our printer. I was a little worried that I was paying too much for this multipack considering it was just under £28 but when you divide this by the amount of cartridges it works out about £7 per cartridge which isnt too bad for ink in the grand scheme of things. I used to have to perform printer cleaning very regularly which I can only pinpoint to the poor quality ink refills that I used, but now using the genuine cartridges the difference is night and day. You get four colours in the box - Cyan, Magenta, Black and Yellow, with the black ink having a slightly bigger capacity than the others as it gets used more often.
