Genuine Epson Ink Black T0481 better or not

Advantages: great photo quality & long print run
Disadvantages: expensive

...Usually I get through printers like hoovers, every 3 months or so but I must say I have been using an Epson R series printer for the last 4 years and would be looking to replace with another epsom. The quality of print is in many respects down to the printer but if you put cheap ink into the printer then it doesn't matter how great your printer is the result will be poor especially for photo quality. I use both genuine epson ink including the T0481, plus cheaper alternatives and the end result varies tremendously. I have found the depth & vividness of the genuine T0481 not only superior to cheaper immitations but more so the effect it has on different types of media. Review of Epson T048 Multipack - print cartridge (C13T048B4010)

No cheating with this Epson Cheetah!

Advantages: Clear colours
Disadvantages: A bit pricey

.... On the front is a list of models it is suitsble for too. The colour cartridges have 5.5mls and the black is slightly larger with 7.4mls. Each cartridge is vacuumed packed inside the plastic box to keep it fresh and has a shelf life on the box, my latest one was for November 2010. Once opened - not an easy task! The cartridge should be shaken 4 or 5 times before removing the yellow tape and inserting following the instructions for your printer. Care should be taken not to touch the green strip on the cartridge as this contains the chip. I have never got ink on my fingers inserting these cartridges so think they deserve apoint compared to the cheaper ones we tried. Epson recommend that you only use their products but I have used Tesco's compatible cartridges with good results but after problems using refills before I really like to stick...

Much better Than Ink Refills, Worthy of the investment

...After using cheap ink refills in our epson printer and seeing the loss of quality, I opted to buy the real deal and get this multipack of epson inks that are compatible with our printer. I was a little worried that I was paying too much for this multipack considering it was just under £28 but when you divide this by the amount of cartridges it works out about £7 per cartridge which isnt too bad for ink in the grand scheme of things. I used to have to perform printer cleaning very regularly which I can only pinpoint to the poor quality ink refills that I used, but now using the genuine cartridges the difference is night and day. You get four colours in the box - Cyan, Magenta, Black and Yellow, with the black ink having a slightly bigger capacity than the others as it gets used more often. THINK INK!

Advantages: Easily obtainable, good value, recyclable.
Disadvantages: Really just the idea of it not being a genuine new original!

The brand named cartridges generally contain less ink for your money and so they need either need replacing more frequently, or you pay considerably more. My first printer, an Epson, was bought along with bottles of refill ink and a syringe to inject each colour into the colour cartridge, and a bottle of black for the other one. The salesman in PC World assured me it was easy? well it was the first time, apart from the mess! then the second time I just flooded the printer, and I had to buy new cartridges. My second printer a Lexmark, had the same thing happen and I eventually scrapped it! Now I have a HP PSE 1317 inkjet 3 in 1, and I love it, but the ink cartridges...

Miami Ink!

Advantages: Interesting to watch, loads of cool tattoos to look at
Disadvantages: Often I find myself wanting a tattoo done by Chris Garver but unfortunately I don't live in Americ

...Miami Ink, if you haven't heard about it already, is a TV show about a tattoo parlour in Miami (if you hadn't already guessed!). The series began in July 2005, introducing four eager tattooists, Ami James, Chris Nunez, Chris Garver and Darren Brass, as well as Ami's apprentice, Yoji Harada. Throughout the episodes new tattooists enter and go, the most famous probably being Kat Von D who turned the studio around with her beautiful portrait tattoos. Each show lasts about an hour long, and during that time we see a variety of clients enter the studio to get their tattoos. The guys who run/work in the studio are all fairly young, heavily tattooed and have been through different walks of life. Most of them have spent their lives tattooing, so working in the shop you can tell means a lot to them. Each artist has a different personality...

Uses Epson C66 ink cartridges

Advantages: Cheap to buy, Cheap running costs, Good print Quality
Disadvantages: No good for printing on gloss paper

...I bought this printer because my Epson C66 died I paid £43 from ebuyer.com okay it doen't come with a usb cable but most printers don't and you can purchase them from as little as a £1 the D68 is just a C66 with a face lift it the print quality is very good not photo perfect one thing that should be noted is that if you planning to print on gloss paper get Epson R220 or above as when printing on gloss it tends bleed and run but it's very good on photo matt the build quality seems to be as good as the C66 I used about 70 sets of cartridges on my old C66 all none originals except the set that came with it another thing that I really like about this printer is thatthey take the C66 cartridges which are cheaper that buying the D68 cartridges even the compatable ones obviously Epson just change the part numbers to fool people into buying...

T0715 for Epson printers

Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

...We have a very good Epson DX6000 printer. This printer takes 4 separate inks. This comes in handy when just one colour gets low. I know its low because when I go to do some printing I will get a low ink flashing sign come up and it will then show me how much ink is left and roughly how much copying I can do before it finally runs out. It will also tell me which ink is low. I print off a lot of photographs so it is not just the black ink that runs out but the coloured ones as well. When we first had the printer we did notice that some non epson inks were cheaper and we did think of buying them. We were then informed that if we used these on this printer that was still under guarantee they might refuse to honour the guarantee as we had not used their own brand of ink. ..., and for a price of just £2 per cartridge there really isn’t any need for sparing prints anyway. Even if you haven’t got a printer that’s compatible with brother ink then I would strongly advise getting a brother printer the next time you need to buy a new printer. The main reason being that it will save you about £20 every time you buy a new pack of ink cartridges compares to cartridges like Lexmark’s and Hp’s and even Epson ink is really expensive compared to the like of brothers....

...Bay. If you buy the whole four set you can get them all for, the cheapest iv seen being just £6.99. This is cheaper than the usual price for most individual cartridge of other printer manufacturers for their ink so its fantastic value for money. Brother also claims that on average this cartridge will last around 450 prints, however if your mainly printing black and white documents like me then this will obviously not use any of the ink on these prints so it really depends how much of the colour is on your prints to how much prints this cartridge will print you, but realistically this should last you quite a long time, and for a price of just £2 per cartridge there really isn’t any need for sparing prints anyway.
