Epson Photo R285 printer
Advantages: excellent all round while working
Disadvantages: Subject to ink problems but Ok with insurance
...The Epson Sylus Photo R285 is an excellent printer while it is working. In 12 months I have had two of these printers and both have have had the same fault, that being the sudden inability to recognise full ink cartridges and mule like refusing to budge in any direction. This problem occurs about 2-3 months into its use and seems to be brought on by changing one cartridge. Technical support recognise that there is a fault with apparently no remedy. Fortunately i took out a 3 year guarantee with this and PC World have change the printer.
An excellent printer but I would recommend any purchaser to take out an insurance. I am going back for a third but I think this might be the last if the fault occurs again!...

PDX-8000
Advantages: LED display
Disadvantages: gIMMICKY
...We all know that Technics turntables are the industry standard. In radio stations, bars, clubs and homes up and down the land Technics are the choice that most people make when selection a turntable. At one point, however, Vestax were challenging Technics to their crown. The PDX-8000 was one of their flagship products and was the one that was a direct threat to the Technics SL1210.
There are a few functions of this turntable that make it stand out from the rest:
1 - The LED display. As far as I am aware, this was one of the first turntables to have an LED display built in. The screen shows you what the current pitch range is (this can be set to -3 to +3, -6 to +6 or -12 to +12), it also displays the current pitch.
2 - Control stick. You can move the control stick to speed up or slow down the speed of the platter temporarily. This is...

Epson Stylus Photo R285...Great Product
Advantages: Price, Quality, ease of use, gives you more control over pictures
Disadvantages: If just just want to print normal photos, still cheaper to use a photo shop
...As christmas presents go, here is one that I was definitely very pleased with, up until now I have only had a basic printer which I got a good 4-5 years ago, and obviously needed an upgrade! I have always been fond of Epson products, even though my old printer was old as I stated, I had never had any problems with it, which compared to some friends is a big plus, so when I was looking at getting a new (preferably) photo printer, I had decided on an Epson!
Thankfully my partner had been listening to me when I had been dropping hints, and already, even though Ive only had it since christmas I have been extremly pleased with the quality and speed of the printer.
You have to be a bit careful when getting a product like a printer, that you use the right ink cartridges and obviously if you want the best result you have to invest in...

Trek 8000 bike, move over Mr Porsche
Advantages: Top Quality, first class frame
Disadvantages: a few cheap components
...BEWARE: full of bikers stuff.
A long long time ago I was an avid mountain bike fan. There were times when I was covering over 100 miles a day and clearing 10000 miles a year. So I ran quality bike s that would get me around quickly and with minimal effort.
I was a cycle courier for a time whilst I decided what to do with myself and on starting a career jib stopped cycling and eventually sold my expensive bikes on.
About 3 years ago I bought a Trek 8000 mountain bike. I bought this in a sale for £1100 pounds. I did my home work and came up with the 8000 as a good all round cross country bike that would give me all I needed for a lot less than I used to pay.
FRAME.
My bike has to be big as I am 6'3". So I opted for the largest I could get. They come in various sizes in inches which your local supplier can advise you on, which...

Marshall MG50DFX
Advantages: Value for money, Range of features, Sound is good for combo amp
Disadvantages: Effects are limited in their control
...I have been playing through a Marshall MG50DFX for about 3 years now and would reccomend this amp to any begginer/intermediate player who is moving into playing in a band or doing some small gigs.
This amp offers a lot of functionality at a decent price, the 4 effects;(and one which s a combination of two) delay, chorus, flange and delay/chorus as well as reverb. When combined with the two channels offer a lot of scope to radically alter your sound right from the off from thrash metal sounds to some warmer, jazzier tones.
Sound Quality:
As you would expect from a Marshall Amp, (even the lower priced products in their range) the sound quality is pretty decent. Whether you play with single coil pickups or boosted up humbuckers you will find decent playing sounds after a few minutes tweeking. What stood out for me for a combo...

Excellent Epson
Advantages: Good Quality Prints & Lots Of Useful Features
Disadvantages: Small Colour Ink Provided
...Epson Stylus DX8400
Before Christmas we set out looking for a new printer for the computers as we didn't currently have one and were fed up of using my dads to print stuff out. We went into the local town of Burton on Trent and found a computer shop they had quite a wide selection of printers, after having a look through them we decided we would like an Epson because they are reliable, cartridges aren't overly expensive and Epson is a trusted brand that we have used previously without any problem.
So having decided upon an Epson we narrowed the model down and picked the Epson Stylus DX8400 it had everything we wanted and also had a cool LCD display screen for viewing status information and also images that are downloaded off any memory cards which I thought was a really useful feature.
The Epson Stylus DX8400 is far from...

T0715 for Epson printers
Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary
...We have a very good Epson DX6000 printer.
This printer takes 4 separate inks.
This comes in handy when just one colour gets low.
I know its low because when I go to do some printing I will get a low ink flashing sign come up and it will then show me how much ink is left and roughly how much copying I can do before it finally runs out. It will also tell me which ink is low.
I print off a lot of photographs so it is not just the black ink that runs out but the coloured ones as well.
When we first had the printer we did notice that some non epson inks were cheaper and we did think of buying them. We were then informed that if we used these on this printer that was still under guarantee they might refuse to honour the guarantee as we had not used their own brand of ink.
We therefore decided to stick to Epson...

MG50 and 250 DFX guitar amp :
Advantages: Great price, good sound package !
Disadvantages: 50 watts might not be enough...
...MG50 DFX Marshall Amplifier & Big brother
MG250 DFX Marshall Amplifier
I thought that I would do both as they are essentially the same, and I have tested both, and they are the same apart from power ratings and either being one or two speaker configuration. Thus my review is done on both.
SPECS :
This is a 50 mono amplifier with a 12-inch celestion ( MG50 DFX ) or 100watt stereo amplifier with 2x12inch celestion ( MG250 DFX ) custom made speakers.
THIS IS THE ONL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO MODLES !!!!
FOR BOTH MODELS :
There are two channels one clean and one distortion, so pretty basic. The clean channel has gain, bass middle and treble functions. The gain channel has gain, bass middle and treble controls also with a volume channel control. Next comes the effects section, which has a knob to select one...
