...This epson printer is bordering on the windows workgroup highend user market and it shows, with reliable parts and a larger ink tank than most epsons. the print quality is very good and little banding is in effect on the colour printing, the print quality on coated paper is very good only slightly as good as the epson photo printer. The print speed on the epson 850 is very good and this beauty just streams pages out almost as fast as a lazer printer. A good quality printer that is perfect for that little extra work.... ...I previously worked in admin/office work, always had HP Printers & a friend recommended Epson to me (big mistake) I purchased my Epson CX6600 18 months ago, after using the printer for approx 6 months it displayed printer error "see your documentation & call service if necessary" an Epson outlet service centre replaced the printer, the Second printer has been in my possession approx 12 months & again today it displays the same message, I have a small business & have to say BOTH printers were not used excessively (some days they are not used at all) & they constantly had paper jam, the ink is VERY expensive & overpriced by Epson & of course Epson set the printer default so you ARE UNABLE to use the printer AT ALL until it has been to their service centre! TOTAL RIP OFF & the quality of print & features are nothing startling, stick... Read review

...The Epson stylus 440 color printer is a robust, good quality printer. Having used one now for some two years I have a lot of faith in it. The quality of the print is good, and it is very easy to use. The ink cartridges are not over the top and can be bought in bulk, making them reasonably priced. It's self cleaning facilities are a premium. It is the second Epson I have had and the ongoing improvements by the company towards its printers have resulted in a very good product indeed. The printers are starting to age now and can be purchased second hand at around £40. This is a bargain if it is in good condition, worth a punt.... Read review

...As a user of Epson printers for a good number of years I was extremely disappointed with this Printer. The beauty of Epson for me has always been the low cost of Purchase as well as the ability to use compatible inks. I use mine heavily and so when it expired I could easily and cheaply replace it. As other reviewers have said, it is probably good only for occasional use however my problem, and why I won't buy another Epson, is that Epson deny you the freedom of choice as to what Ink you use ie Compatibles (for example 'Ink-rite'), like it or not you are more or less stuck with overpriced 'Epson'. Whilst the printer will accept compatible inks the chip on the Epson D92 told me the Ink had run out on 'Black' after only a few prints. ...Having just recently brought my new Epson printer which is a excellent piece of equipment I am dismayed that when Epson sell new models like my Photo 1270 that they do not put a supply of ink into the market place. MY printer cost me just short of £400.00 is three months old and useless because there is no colour ink available, I find this totally intolerable from such a big company the machine will not even print in black and white so I have a £400.00 piece of junk. Epson also do not publish an email address to enable contact they only have printed forms for help which make complaining very difficult dont think I will bye Epson ever again, it also does not pay to bye the best... Advantages: cheap to run, photo quality

...I have had my Epson Stylus 640 for about 18 months and it has been used every day since I purchased it. It has printed out on average 25 pages per day, almost 14,000 pages in total and is still going strong. Being an inkjet printer you do need to use good quality paper if you want decent results, poorer quality papers allow the ink to 'bleed' thus running into each other and producing poor quality images. Since buying this printer Epson have improved and upgraded the printer and this particular model is no longer readily available although you can still see them advertised from time to time. A comparable printer from Epson will set you back about £110 but represents great value for money. Uses non Epson cartridges quite happily, although Epson advise against it, it has not caused any problems with my system and of course... Read review

...Price I could not resist buying this printer when I saw that an Epson was on sale for £25.00 with two cartridges. Some cartridges cost £25 on their own. Space saving I am very satisfied with my little Epson. It sits happily in the space in my Argos computer desk and hasn't required any maintenance. U.S.B. connection I find it annoying that printers as a whole do not come with U.S.B. leads. I think it cost me about £10 for a U.S.B. lead, but it's not just Epson which doesn't supply leads. Epson cartridges Epson cartridges are expensive, and as I do quite a bit of printing, I have been buying compatibles from britink and nutronics. A message comes up saying I have used a compatible, but it runs quite happily. Visual instructions on cartridge change I'm sure beginners will appreciate the step by step instructions which... ...An ink cartridge is not really something to wax lyrical about is it? This magenta is designed for a few Epson printers, and I use it for my Epson Stylus C84. Sorry Epson, but I use compatibles from time to time, which do the donkey work perfectly well, much cheaper. I can have a compatible from Jettec for £4 while I pay about £7.99 in PCW for the real thing from Epson. Having said that, I recognize the quality of Epson and like to use one of their own brands every so often. They are readily available, easy to insert, prevent irritating messages - like "the cartridge you are using is not a genuine Epson T0453 - do you wish to continue using it ?", and always work well. Colours are very sharp, the ink dries instantly and never seems to fade. But they do not last as long as Jettec - which have an extra 30% as well, and are just too... Read review
