EPSON EPL6200-A tough competitor in laser printing

Advantages: Fast, excellent quality, relatively cheap to buy
Disadvantages: Bland design, high cost of consumables

...I'm quite fond of Epson laser printers, for me they represent good quality and speed at phenomenally low prices. My first Epson laser printer was the EPL 5700L, but things have moved on since then. That was a bog standard, 8 pages per minute printer, but it didn't stop me being impressed, you can read my earlier review on this printer in my archive. But I knew my EPL 5700 wasn't going to last forever, and when I found out it needed its toner replacing which would cost £50, I thought I'd jump in and buy a new one (I was in a spending mood!) Review of Epson EPL 6200

The EPL 6200N, A Monochrome MONSTER

Advantages: Highly industrial, capable of printing off at amazing speeds. Low noises. Is aesthetically pleasing.
Disadvantages: Slightly pricy. Few extra features.

Excelent Epson, again.

Advantages: Very Quick to print. Good DPI. GREAT value for money.

Review of Epson EPL 6200L

EPL 5700 - An economical tank!

Advantages: Good toner life, crisp black text, cheap, fast
Disadvantages: Frequent paper jams, bulky

...I came home from work one day, and had to print a black and white report off the internet; it took about 30 minutes and was 100 pages in length; by the time I had finished printing it the black catridge had run out. It was around this time I realised I would need something faster and more economical for everday print offs. So I invested in my first black and white laser printer; the EPL 5700. The printer met my needs perfectly; essentially I needed a printer which was quick and easy for printing non - important documents which was why I didn't fork out and get a colour laser. It did its job perfectly and still is doing. The toner life is excellent, lasting about 6000 pages before replacement (I've had the printer a year and still have the original toner in!) The drum units last 60000 pages so I should get plenty use out of it...

Review of Epson EPL 5700

EPSON does it again ... and again

Advantages: A reliable family of work horse printers
Disadvantages: None

...I have used EPSON laser printers for several years. Starting with the EPL5500, I have had experience with EPL5700, EPL5700L, EPL5800 and very recently EPL5900. I am rather confused by the subcategories offered in this section. I cannot find a model labelled EPL5700PTx and assume it to be mixed up with the EPL5700PS which has a PostScript upgrade. The model with the suffix 'i' appear to be designed for the AppleMac computer. The models with the suffix 'L' are Windows dedicated printers. All these printers are Black and White lasers. This review is based primarily on my experience of the EPL5800PS. I was in the need for a new laser printer for my home office situation. Review of Epson EPL 5700L

EPSON Printer - a definite workhorse

Advantages: Reliable, solid.
Disadvantages: Not the fastest or most stylish on the market.

..., and the quality is certainly good enough for sending business correspondance. Paper can either be loaded in the paper tray (mines takes 500 sheets without too much trouble) or via the paper feeder - the darker grey area on the tray that sticks out. For pages that are to be printed face-down (as is usually the case), the pages are retrieved via the slot on the top at the front, although I recommend you lift the lighter grey flap on top if you intend to print more than 2-3 pages otherwise they tend to fall out. Pages to be printed face-up are retrieved via a slot on the top at the back, but you will need to reposition the lighter grey flap at the back first, otherwise the pages will fall. This can be a bit fiddly so I would not recommend trying to do it too often. The cost of toners is on a par with other brands, I usually buy Epson S050087...

Review of Epson Stylus Pro 4800

No cheating with this Epson Cheetah!

Advantages: Clear colours

...Printers are marvellous things when they work!We bought an Epson DX4000 a couple of years ago after problems with our HP printer. It was reduced in Tesco and as it is a photo copier and printer we thought it was a bargain but decided to check out the cost of the cartridges before buying. We have used various makes of cartridges over the years for previous printers but had been having problems and always having to clean to get good printing so we were wasting ink. We got sample size cartridges with the printer but bought a Multipack so we were ready when a replacement was needed. The Multipack has 4 cartridges, 1 of each black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The box is blue with a picture of a Cheetah and is in the Cheetah range, there are other ranges like Monkey. Hummingbird and Seahorse makinh it easy to spot the one you want to buy...

T0715 for Epson printers

Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

...We have a very good Epson DX6000 printer. This printer takes 4 separate inks. This comes in handy when just one colour gets low. I know its low because when I go to do some printing I will get a low ink flashing sign come up and it will then show me how much ink is left and roughly how much copying I can do before it finally runs out. It will also tell me which ink is low. I print off a lot of photographs so it is not just the black ink that runs out but the coloured ones as well. When we first had the printer we did notice that some non epson inks were cheaper and we did think of buying them. We were then informed that if we used these on this printer that was still under guarantee they might refuse to honour the guarantee as we had not used their own brand of ink.
