T0715 for Epson printers

Advantages: cheaper to buy 4 but can also buy singly
Disadvantages: you have to look around for the cheapest as prices do vary

...We have a very good Epson DX6000 printer. This printer takes 4 separate inks. This comes in handy when just one colour gets low. I know its low because when I go to do some printing I will get a low ink flashing sign come up and it will then show me how much ink is left and roughly how much copying I can do before it finally runs out. It will also tell me which ink is low. I print off a lot of photographs so it is not just the black ink that runs out but the coloured ones as well. When we first had the printer we did notice that some non epson inks were cheaper and we did think of buying them. We were then informed that if we used these on this printer that was still under guarantee they might refuse to honour the guarantee as we had not used their own brand of ink. Epson SX515W is an excellent printer.

Advantages: Wireless function is easy, print from anywhere.
Disadvantages: While the black finish is nice, it really is a dust magnet.

...After having Epson printers before, I decided to go for another one. But this time, one with wireless capabilities. In box with the printer is the power cable, USB cable (you need these for the initial set up), a set of cartridges and a small pack of photo paper. Was really easy to set up. We use 3 laptops at home and for the first set up I needed the USB cable. Follow the prompts on the discs and it automatically detects your wireless network. For the 2 additional laptops, I didn't need the USB cable and just had to set them up as "additional computers". It's really easy to install the cartridges. Printer has a helpful little screen to prompt you. Scanning and copying functions are really good. When you scan an item, so long as you computer is switched on, it will appear on the little screen, just select it and it scans...

Epson R2880... Superb printer and well worth the premium price

Advantages: Well built, superb quality prints
Disadvantages: You have to switch black inks for glossy and matte finishes

...also a tray for holding printable CD and DVD's. Setting up is really easy. You turn the unit on, install the eight ink cartridges and let it prime and ready the printer. One extra step though, before you install the inks. You have to decide what sort of paper you are going to print on first, matte or glossy. This choice determines whether you should install the matte black or photo black ink cartridge (both supplied). If you choose one and later decide to swap to an opposing paper type, you have to swap inks. This is not a big problem, but it does use (and waste) a little ink in the process. Once the printer is ready, you need to install at the very minimum, the printer driver. I would suggest downloading the latest version from the Epson website, so you are right up-to-date. You can also install extra software too, like a photo manager...

Genuine Epson Ink Black T0481 better or not

Advantages: great photo quality & long print run
Disadvantages: expensive

...Usually I get through printers like hoovers, every 3 months or so but I must say I have been using an Epson R series printer for the last 4 years and would be looking to replace with another epsom. The quality of print is in many respects down to the printer but if you put cheap ink into the printer then it doesn't matter how great your printer is the result will be poor especially for photo quality. I use both genuine epson ink including the T0481, plus cheaper alternatives and the end result varies tremendously. I have found the depth & vividness of the genuine T0481 not only superior to cheaper immitations but more so the effect it has on different types of media. Not the best epson printer

Advantages: good quality
Disadvantages: slow at printing, uses a lot of ink

...website if you have a problem which you require help with. On the epson website you can look for further help to your problems which are not on the user manual. Also it allows you to email them a question if you can not find the answer online. Printing I find that the printer prints in very good quality in both black and colour and is great for printing photos as they are printed in excellent quality. I do however find that the printer is quite slow at printing documents so it is most ideal for people who are using it for home use. The printer cartridges are quite small for this printer and it seems to go through the ink very quickly. The cartridges cost about £20 for a pack of four which contains one cartridge of each colour. However this was becoming very expensive for me as i print a lot so was using a lot of cartridges so i have started...

No cheating with this Epson Cheetah!

Advantages: Clear colours

...Printers are marvellous things when they work!We bought an Epson DX4000 a couple of years ago after problems with our HP printer. It was reduced in Tesco and as it is a photo copier and printer we thought it was a bargain but decided to check out the cost of the cartridges before buying. We have used various makes of cartridges over the years for previous printers but had been having problems and always having to clean to get good printing so we were wasting ink. We got sample size cartridges with the printer but bought a Multipack so we were ready when a replacement was needed. The Multipack has 4 cartridges, 1 of each black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The box is blue with a picture of a Cheetah and is in the Cheetah range, there are other ranges like Monkey. Hummingbird and Seahorse makinh it easy to spot the one you want to buy...

Epson Photo R285 printer

Advantages: excellent all round while working
Disadvantages: Subject to ink problems but Ok with insurance

...The Epson Sylus Photo R285 is an excellent printer while it is working. In 12 months I have had two of these printers and both have have had the same fault, that being the sudden inability to recognise full ink cartridges and mule like refusing to budge in any direction.This problem occurs about 2-3 months into its use and seems to be brought on by changing one cartridge. Technical support recognise that there is a fault with apparently no remedy. Fortunately i took out a 3 year guarantee with this and PC World have change the printer. An excellent printer but I would recommend any purchaser to take out an insurance. I am going back for a third but I think this might be the last if the fault occurs again!...

This is a good multi function printer which lacks in ink economy

Advantages: cheap, good functions
Disadvantages: slow, gaps show when cartridge is newly installed, guzzles ink

...With only one printer in the house I thought it was better I got my own as my dad recently got a netbook that he won't let me use. (dads!). Anyway I bought the Epson Stylus Office SX100 from Argos and it looked quite good. It had photocopy functions as well as the printer which I'm sure would come in handy one day. The printer is reasonable, it is quite slow printing but as a colour printer I guess that's what is expected. The narks I have with it is its ability to guzzle through ink cartridges in very little time at all. Now i'm pretty sure I don't print that much but black ink diseppears in no time. I find it a bit strange also that in a colour printer it would be the black ink that ends up gone? Also sometimes when printing on a new cartridge I would get gaps in the words. This is usually rectified with a quick system clean...
