great for pro photographers
Review of Epson Stylus Pro 3800 by
pressphotography
Advantages: Professional A2 printing for under £1000.
Disadvantages: Large size, but not compared to other A2 printers
...Before buying this printer I used a professional lab for all my work. I was never really happy with the quality of black & white digial prints on colour paper.
The black & white prints from this printer are as good as I could get spending hours in the darkroom. The quality is amazing. Colour is great too, especially from Adobe 1998 RGB files. The output closely matches my monitor using standard printing profiles.
The prints should last at least as long as those from a photographic lab and the quality far outshines anything I got back from my pro lab.
You can print borderless prints from 7"x5" up to A2, although I find it more economical to print smaller prints together on a single sheet of paper and then trim them later.
Ink cartridges are around £35 for 80ml of ink, this works out far cheaper than the cartridges for smaller Epson...

A pro or what
Review of Epson Stylus Color 760 by
Kuli2
Advantages: The speed
Disadvantages: Non
...I bought my Epson Stylus Colour 760 with my new Dan computer, I didn’t really know what to expect from the printer but the typical sales guy said that it was a good printer. Well been an Epson it sounded better than the Lemark that was also on the list.
After using the printer for all types of work Desktop publishing, Word processing and other things, I have found that the Epson Stylus Colour 760 can cope with anything that you can throw at it.
The help manual that comes with it also gives you lots of pointers for things such as what happens if this happens ........... And what happens if this breaks...
There are simple diagrams that are easy to follow and any first time PC person can follow them with great results.
The printer has great picture quality and when it is used to print onto photo quality paper the results are even...

Great print quality
Review of Epson Stylus Color 680 by
sarah14
Advantages: Good quality, quick speed
Disadvantages: snatches paper
...I recently purchursed the Epson 680 printer and have to say I was most impressed with the quality and speed of it.
I purchursed my machine in November, Unfortunatly I had to return the first machine as it didn't work properly and made a horrific noise, but when I got the replacement the software loaded simply, the machine is easy to connect up and the print quality is fantastic, the only thing I didn't particually like is the way it seemed to snatch the paper to load it in, but I have got used to this, and pro's far outweigh the cons.
If anyone is looking to buy a new printer I would highly recommend this one, for £100 I think it has got to be the best value machine on the market...

Fast, high quality and cheap A1 size printing.
Review of Epson Stylus Pro 7600 by
Nathan.crocker
Advantages: Cheap cost per print and reliable.
Disadvantages: Epson support not great unless you have a paid business contract.
...This has to be the best printer available for large format printing, I have used a lot of large format printers in my printing business. The Epson 7600 has been the best quality for prints and most reliable printer I have bought. I've owned both Hp and Encad and neither offer the same print quality or speed as the Epson.
I have primarily used the printer for printing direct to canvas but have used it with other media such as paper and films.
Although the Epson printer is fantastic if you want to do canvas prints DO NOT buy Epson's own brand canvas roll, the print quality is good but the ink does not stay on the canvas and giclee varnish makes the ink rub off.
I recommend buying hahnemuhle or similar brand canvas roll either matt or semi matt and finishing the print with a gloss giclee varnish, the more coats of varnish the better...

Epson Stylus Pro 5000
Review of Epson Stylus Pro 5000 by
redballoon
Advantages: Produces excellent high quality prints, Ideal for Professional Use
Disadvantages: Very expensive
...General Info
-------------------
This is a top of the range inkjet printer.
The EPSON Stylus Pro 5000 is probably the best producer of top quality printer I have come across to date - and I use a lot of printers for work and personal use.
Price
-------
It is one of the expensive printers on the market. At a whopping £1,500 it's not a printer to be brought lightly. I feel that you get a printer that reflects this price tag.
Printing Process
----------------------
Engine Type: Inkjet
Mono/Colour?: Colour
Maximum horizontal resolution (dpi): 1440
Maximum vertical resolution (dpi): 720
Technology
-----------------
It has on board EPSON's latest technology, MicroPiezo™ which is responsible for the top quality pictures it is able to produce.
Hardware
---------------
The printer can be used for either Apple Mac...

What a canon - What A printer
Review of Canon PIXMA IP5000 by
Davy-1
Advantages: Excellent all-round printer
Disadvantages: Non
...and then transfer it to the Canon for direct printing as opposed to using lables - they come out perfectly aligned.
The reliability is 100%, it's quiet and its economical far more than the Epsons, these printers don't waste ink they use it.
It should be noted however-;
That the 1pl print resolution is only attainable with the 'Photo paper Pro' setting' other setting's than 'Photo paper Pro' the 1pl setting is blanked out and can not be set, the next setting is 2pl.
The duplex printing is ideal for text documents, that is printing on both sides of the paper, you can get double sided photo paper but I have not tried this.
With this printer it is preferable to use the top feeder for photos, as the feed is straight, using the bottom feeder the paper will have to do a 'U turn' to exit and if the ink isn't quite dry there is a risk of very slight...

Affordable A3 photo printing
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1270 by
Mcsm
Advantages: This is a high quality A3 printer that produces high quality output
Disadvantages: The other is that the heads need to be purged of ink when you start up
...£399 inc.
Epson's latest 1270 Stylus Photo printer is aimed at the SME/ home user and provides photo image quality at sizes up to A3+ (this leaves enough room to crop a full A3 picture). It goes head to head with HP's latest A3 printer and at under £400 pound is aggressively priced.
As you'd expect, image output quality is excellent, well up to the level we've seen in the more recent Epson photo quality printers. However they haven't yet managed to remove the operational noise and this can be annoying compared to HP's almost silent operation. Print life is expected to be excellent and Epson claim a display life in excess of ten years under artificial light. Obviously, this is an extrapolation based on heavy overexposure because they haven't been around long enough to test this!
The Stylus Pro is a six-colour inkjet and uses Epson...

Simplicity and Quality
Review of Epson Perfection 1640SU by
simonfroude
Advantages: Lots off different features for different types for media (slides etc)
Disadvantages: No real disadvantages
...and professional photographers alike who need to scan negatives and transparencies. Im not a professional photographer but I do class it as one of my main hobbies. I found buying this scanner an excellent way of saving money (ie. not having to pay for two separate scanners that did separate jobs) aswell as the amount of desk space that I saved - desk space is very important to me as i have little!
I found the scanner to be fast and produced very good quality scans, especially with negatives. It should be noted that I got a lots of software included with the scanner that has made my life much easier, including Adobe PhotoShop LE 5.0, Abobe PhotoDeluxe, high level OCR editing with Textbridge Pro, and the EPSON Smart Panel for scanners - enabling the Start button to be customised to user requirements. The only slight problem I can find is my screen image...

A bargain for your printing needs.
Review of Epson Stylus C66 by
Ollydv
Advantages: Looks good, nice and compact, great printing quality
Disadvantages: um...none
.... If you do find any of it tricky then there are on screen instructions helping you around the problem you are coming across.
The pictures that I have printed come out in superb quality, the quality you would expect from a printed reaching into the hundreds (£) I would imagine.
Word documents print out very fast. A two page letter printed in around 10 seconds, and bigger documents in not much more time.
The proper rate: for printing in black is 17 ppm, and 5760 dpi.
Replacement ink cartridges are about five pounds, which is a great deal cheaper to those of you that pay around £20, maybe more for Lexmark and Hewlett Packard ones.
The Epson Photo Editing software is wonderful and terribly easy to use. I use this more frequently than I use Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, which I actually paid for.
If you like to know all of the facts about...

My Epson R300
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R300 by
j.venning
Advantages: Very stylish, excellent print speed, fantastic quality.
Disadvantages: Software could be better.
..., Sony Memory Stick®, Memory StickPRO, Memory Stick Duo, MagicGate™ Memory Stick , select your printing requirements through the LCD menu on the printer and your off! You can even back up your pictures on your memory card to an external device which can be connected to a USB port at the front of the printer. Additional extras which can be purchased from Epson include a Bluetooth adapter which enables you to print from a mobile phone etc and also a LCD colour screen so you can see what pictures to print off the memory card which clips onto the top of the printer.
<>
The printer connects to your computer by either a USB 1.1 connection or a high-speed USB2 connection.
<>
The printing software is not very exciting but it contains a few handy programs to make printing just that bit easier, these include: Epson...
