Epson Stylus Photo R285...Great Product
Advantages: Price, Quality, ease of use, gives you more control over pictures
Disadvantages: If just just want to print normal photos, still cheaper to use a photo shop
...decent quality printing paper, because if you use bog standard paper, however good the printer is, you will not get the best end result. I wanted quality, so got some proper photo quality printing paper, and the photos are outstanding!
I am not totally sure about the economy of using the product, as prices at photo shops have been geting better, meaning uunless there is a reduced price in the ink and photo paper, it will always be a bit more expensive to have your own photo printer, but in my opinion it opens the doors for a lot of opportunities, you have an open canvas, you dont only have to use the photo that you have taken as "a photo", but you can (using a photoshop style program) get a lot more out of one photo than if you took it to a photo shop!
In my opinion, this Epson Stylus Photo R285 is the best photo printer that I have...

Epson Stylus Photo R220
Advantages: Photo Quality is Excellent, Prints on variety of media, Prints CD's and DVD's, Good Software bundle with sleek design
Disadvantages: Text print not fantastic, Cannot print direct from digital cameras, camcorders or memory cards. No LCD Display
...a run for their money.
After wandering aimlessly around the shop for some 20 minutes or more my eyes finally settled on the Epson Stylus Photo R220. With its sleek design and fantastic silver/grey finish I fell in love with it immediately. I stood there for a while, picturing it on my desk at home and decided that it was the perfect accompaniment to my other gadgets, and a vast improvement on my old, white coloured printer.
The main selling point for me was that the Epson Stylus Photo R220 can print on nearly any type of media you can imagine, in particular CD's and DVD's. I fancy myself as a bit of a singer and have recorded a few CD's in the past, and so I thought it would be ideal if I was able to print CD covers directly onto the discs to make a professional looking CD.
After weighing up the pros and cons I decided to buy the R...

Epson Stylus Photo R265
Advantages: Cheap-ish, CD/DVD Printing, separate ink carts
Disadvantages: Bulky, slightly brash colours
...The first thing you notice about the Epson Stylus Photo R265 is that it's pretty large. You'd almost think it was a multifunction device, especially given it's height. As such you'll need a fair chunk of desk space to take it. That said, it's attractive enough if a little utilitarian.
* The main features are:
* 6 ink carts
* CD/DVD Printing
* Direct photo printing via PictBridge/USB
* Claria Long life inks
* Borderless printing
* 5760x1440 dpi resolution
As you can see, apart from the CD/DVD feature, it's a pretty vanilla device. No LCD screen and no slots for media cards so you can't do much without having your PC connected.
My first impressions when printing were good. I printed photos on A4 as single images and 4 to a page and found them bright, punchy and well balanced. The shadow detail seemed fine and skin tones...

Epson Stylus Photo RX700
Advantages: Great Quality and fast Printing
Disadvantages: None i can think of.
...Epson Stylus RX700
Well this is my dad's printer and I use it quite often so thought I would write a review about it. The printer is very good and I have never had any problems with it the whole time that I have been using it. The printer is very good quality because it was actually made for printing photos so you would expect the highest of qualities.
The Epson Stylus Photo RX700 offers a great range of facilities and things that you can use it for. Everything that I have ever wanted to do whilst using my dads computer I have been able to use the printer with it. It's so easy to use. It can be used for pretty much anything and compatible with all applications so it can be used for school projects, web designing, and right down to photo printing. It can be used connected to your computer or you could use it as a standalone...

Epson Stylus Photo R360
Advantages: Perfect print quality
Disadvantages: none
...cartridges. They cost 6.99 each off of Epson's website but you will save by using Froogle and finding a multi-pack. The inks last for quite a few photos also. I have not had to replace yet. It takes 6 cartridges unlike most printers that take 4. This greatly improves quality but can result in higher costs?
This printer can print up to A4 size. It can do borderless photos at A4 also which is neat. You have the ability to connect your camera right to it instead of going through your computers fussy software. That saves lots of stress trust me- it's great! It supports pretty much any memory card you can throw at it.
I use it on windows however it is Windows AND Mac compatible. I just plugged it in, installed drivers and it worked simply. The installation was very, very easy. The manual also provides very good instructions for me to install. I...

Epson Stylus Photo 1290S
Advantages: Prints like Cheetah on speed, quality is like 20/20 vision with vision enhancing glasses, decent value for money.
Disadvantages: Cannot use cheap alternative ink, has an arse bigger than my aunt May.
...Epson... what a bloody good printer company. Just when you think Canon has come out with the next best printer with all the magical implementations thrown onto it to make us users drool, along comes Epson with it's fat arse and a cheaper quality professional printer to quench it's fire. If I wanted to be crude, I could of said that the Epson Stylus Photo 1290S A3 printer was the Epson Stylus Photo 900 A4 printer, with an erection. Epson rocks my wok.
I was at Comet the other day, searching for my first A3 printer so that a lowly mortal, such as myself, could be given the powers of A3+ printing. I searched high and low, but could not find the printer I was looking for. And then, as I was giving up, a Comet salesman comes up to me with a smile on his face and a message on his forehead reading 'Buy something from me, I want a bonus...

Epson stylus photo 900.
Advantages: High quality printing, built to last
Disadvantages: Ditched by Epson in favor of the R300
...I think this review now will now have to aimed at the second hand printer market, as I?m 99 % sure that you?ll not find it brand new anymore. This fact is a shame because apart from it being a top notch printer and adding to Epson?s range, I recon it has all the same internals as the more popular R300, only lacking basically the memory card reader and a few updates that not many of us would notice. Obviously, I stand to be corrected if anyone knows better, this is only my opinion.
I bought this machine last year in the Jan? sales for £65, a super bargain I think. This is my 3rd Epson printer, also had 2 Lexmark?s, but buggered both of them up by messing with the very expensive ink cartridges. With those things it was cheaper to buy a new printer than 2 cartridges!! My Epson experiences include; Stylus photo 700 & C42 UX...

Epson Stylus Photo R200
Advantages: Quiet, Quality of print, flexibility
Disadvantages: Fiddly CD printing tray
...the CD printing tray is drawn into the printer prior to printing, and protrudes from the rear of the printer itself. I found that I needed to allow some 8 inches behind the printer. The printer has the ability to print to the edge of the print page (although quality may deteriorate slightly toward the edges), and if the recommended Epson photo paper is used, and your original source image is of sufficient resolution, the print quality is excellent. The prints dry very quickly, and the whole thing is very fuss free.
The printer connects to the PC via a USB port (there is no parallel connectivity option), but does support bi-directional printing (this means that the printer can report its status back to the user) The ink cartridges (6 of them) are very easy to install, and the printer comes with a set of 6 cartridges in the box (and unlike...

EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R265: SUPER, I LIKE IT!
Advantages: BETTER DESIGN, QUIETER, GOOD PHOTO AND DVD/CD PRINTING.
Disadvantages: I HAVE FOUND NONE TO DATE.
...THE EPSON STYLUS R265 CD/DVD & PHOTO PRINTER.
I must say that since this one was chosen for me by Epson UK having had a somewhat disasterous time with the previous model of similar ilk, the (EPSON STYLUS R260). The R265 is so far doing well!
I have yet to give it the test of time since the R260 "croaked" after a somewhat short space of time in my estimation. 12 months almost to the day! I had an error messages up about non-replaceable parts wearing out and life of printer about to end. ALREADY!!! I fumed! Just out of gaurantee too. I telephoned the Epson UK establishment and was told that it could be repaired but... costs would outweigh the value of the printer. They did suggest that I take up the offer of the Epson Stylus R265. Yes, an altogether better piece of gear in many ways - so far! I await at least another six months to see...
