...As my old printer finally gave up the ghost, I had to choose a replacement, and aftera discussion with my local PC shop, I chose the Epson Stylus Photo R240. I've not had it long, but am very pleased with the results so far. It produces photo quality prints, at a reasonable speed and good quality. Set up and operation are quite straightforward, and I got to grips with it very quickly. It is very quiet in comparison to my old printer, as after the initial clunk as it takes in the paper, the printing process is very quiet. I find the LCD preview screen a little small, but it is quite clear, and as it is a feature I've not had before, find it quite useful. Advantages: cheap, good quality

...Epson printers have in my opinion always been of good quality and reliability. The Epson Stylus 640 is an excellent low cost printer more than capable of producing high quality high resolution pictures. It takes two separate ink cartridges, one black and the other tri-coloured (cyan, yellow and red). The cartridge life is good and you get plenty of printing out of them (unless you do a lot of full colour photo printing). On the downside if you leave the printer for a few days without printing you may need to run the CLEAN HEAD facility as the ink sometimes dries in the print head. You can use cheaper alternatives to the Epson Ink Cartridges without losing any quality or causing problems with the printer. Good value for money at £100.... Read review

...The Epson ranges of printers are very good value for money. They may not be the nicest looking or the fastest printing, but the quality for the price range is excellent. If you use good quality paper, and are prepared to wait the few extra minutes the photo realistic quality of the print out never fails to make me happy. Photo realistic printing comes as standard, so many other makes of printer you have to change the cartridges, to print a photo. The software provided gives a visual indication of when the ink is running low so giving you plenty of time to get a new cartridge, no embarrassing run out.... Read review

...I bought my Epson Stylus Photo 750 for my iMac, it was my first proouct from Epson. Using USB ports, the printer was very easy to set up, I simply had to plug in the cables. run the installation CD and it was ready for immediate use. The cartridges are not too expensive, and can be bought for prices less than the RRP when shopping at internet stores such as www.jungle.com. When switch the printer on, it ~charges' the ink cartridges, this process takes around 1-2 minutes, it can be somewhat irritating if one wishes to print something in a hurry. One has the option to print in either colour inks - of which there are 5, giving really excellent photo quality output; the single black ink cartridge performs equally well when printing text. ...The Epson Stylus 680 is my first colour printer and I believe it was a good choice to make. The design is quite attractive with plenty of curves and a compact size. Printing speed is pretty good with a maximum of 7 pages per minute being possible in black ink. Colour printing is a bit slower with 3 or 4 pages per minute being possible.The quality of printing is amazing, I have copied CD labels and photo's and they look spot on.The only downside I have noticed so far is that the ink doesn't seem to last long. The printer is easy to install and therfore easy to operate.New ink cartridges are hard to find and are also quite expensive. I would recommend it as depending on where you look it is pretty good value for money.... Read review

...The Epson Stylus Photo 830 is an excellent value for money printer (currently around £90). In fact initially I was considering buying an Epson Stylus C62, but because there's very little difference at all price-wise between the two, I took advantage of the Photo 830’s 6 coloured inks over the C62's 4 colour printing. Epson's have unbeatable print quality as far as I am concerned, especially when it comes to printing glossy photos which is my main intended use of the printer. Ideal for printing scanned or digital camera images. Also good quality text output too. The printer comes supplied with; two ink cartridges (black & colour), mains lead, printer driver CD, Harry Potter Print Studio CD, quick-start instructions and a selection of sample print media to for you to try out. Advantages: Quick and Good Quality
Disadvantages: Only use Genuine Epson Cartridges

...I am a technical engineer and I often get handed these printers for me to repair. The main problem that I have reported to me is that no ink is getting through to the paper even though there are new cartridges installed. This is caused almost 100 percent by people using cheap print cartridges. ONLY use genuine Epson cartridges with this printer. By the time the printer has come to me for repair, the customer has probably already spent £30 on new cartridges. It is not economical for me to repair the printer. Not when you can buy a new printer (including new cartridges) for less than £100. The printer itself is very good. The picture quality is excellent when you print in high quality.
