Advantages: Good printing speed and quality

...The Epson Stylus 680 is my first colour printer and I believe it was a good choice to make. The design is quite attractive with plenty of curves and a compact size. Printing speed is pretty good with a maximum of 7 pages per minute being possible in black ink. Colour printing is a bit slower with 3 or 4 pages per minute being possible.The quality of printing is amazing, I have copied CD labels and photo's and they look spot on.The only downside I have noticed so far is that the ink doesn't seem to last long. The printer is easy to install and therfore easy to operate.New ink cartridges are hard to find and are also quite expensive. I would recommend it as depending on where you look it is pretty good value for money.... Read review

...Epson printers have in my opinion always been of good quality and reliability. The Epson Stylus 640 is an excellent low cost printer more than capable of producing high quality high resolution pictures. It takes two separate ink cartridges, one black and the other tri-coloured (cyan, yellow and red). The cartridge life is good and you get plenty of printing out of them (unless you do a lot of full colour photo printing). On the downside if you leave the printer for a few days without printing you may need to run the CLEAN HEAD facility as the ink sometimes dries in the print head. You can use cheaper alternatives to the Epson Ink Cartridges without losing any quality or causing problems with the printer. Good value for money at £100.... Read review

...This epson printer is bordering on the windows workgroup highend user market and it shows, with reliable parts and a larger ink tank than most epsons. the print quality is very good and little banding is in effect on the colour printing, the print quality on coated paper is very good only slightly as good as the epson photo printer. The print speed on the epson 850 is very good and this beauty just streams pages out almost as fast as a lazer printer. A good quality printer that is perfect for that little extra work.... ...This was the first photo printer I bought (which was about six years ago), and at the time I was convinced nothing could be better than it. It produced extremely high quality photos and the ink seemed to last forever. The only down sides to the printer seemed to be the time that it took for it to print the photo. I was able to go and make a cup of tea whilst it was printing a photo, and by the time i had got back, it would have just about finished. But that was quite forgivable considering how good the quality of the image was (especially when used on epsons photo quality inkjet paper). As time went on I realized that indeed technology was advancing and there were printers producing even better quality photographic images which were printed in a few seconds as opose to the few minutes that the Epson Stylus Photo 750 took. Advantages: Great Print Quality and speed

...I bought this printer as a replacement for my Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer which was good but couldn't really handle the volume of photos I was printing, The DX8400 seems great value for money at first with the Scanner, Printer and Copier all being of excellent quality. However, if you think you have got yourself a real bargain, think again as the ink in this thing disappears very quickly. Sure, the print quality is excellent but at £40 ish for a set of ink cartridges the quality really does come at a price. The speed of the print is quite impressive, copys and standard Black and White print literally fly out. In short its an excellent machine but you'll be continually forking out the cash for ink for this thirsty little printer.... Read review

...I have recently bought this printer at the excellent price of £49.99 from Currys, after my Epson 760 finally died. I am really impressed with this printer. There is a very detailed review of this printer already, but this is my experience so far. The rear paper feed is a little noisy when it takes the next sheet in. The printing on all types of paper is quick and very good quality. I have used the front tray for printing direct onto CDs, the included software for this is very good. Also the printing direct from Digital camera (Pictbridge) works really well. I am going to try some high quality compatible inks this time (£17 the set). I only ever used compatibles with my last printer - £3 instead of £18 and lasted 5 years. Good quality paper makes a big difference with photos, £1 for 10 from pound type shops just isn't worth it. ...Having just recently brought my new Epson printer which is a excellent piece of equipment I am dismayed that when Epson sell new models like my Photo 1270 that they do not put a supply of ink into the market place. MY printer cost me just short of £400.00 is three months old and useless because there is no colour ink available, I find this totally intolerable from such a big company the machine will not even print in black and white so I have a £400.00 piece of junk. Epson also do not publish an email address to enable contact they only have printed forms for help which make complaining very difficult dont think I will bye Epson ever again, it also does not pay to bye the best...
