Sony Ericsson's Finest!

Advantages: Great looks, feels well made, great functions
Disadvantages: Could do with a better camera.

...The Sony Ericsson X1 is the first in the new range of Xperia products by Sony Ericsson. Although the product isn't released until 30th September 2008, I have had the pleasure to use one of the pre-production models for around two weeks. Whilst there are improvements on the launch model, I am confident that the pre-production model has given me an insight in to what to expect from this handset. The X1 is the first, and possibly the last Sony Ericsson handset to use the Windows as an operating system. It uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Sony Ericsson have not yet commented on whether the handset can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 7, however it doesn't seem they plan to release any further Windows based handsets. ...The last three mobile phones I have had have been Sony Ericssons. A couple of years ago, I would have gone for the Nokias every time - they look pretty and I knew the functions on it were pretty good. However, two years ago I ended up with a rather chunky looking black Sony ericsson, it was a bit of a boys phone but I wanted a phone that had a decent music feature and at the time (and its probably still true now) the Sony Ericsson was the best option. So two years on, I've opted for the Sony Ericsson once again, but only because I finally found one that actually looked attractive, so now I have a phone that ticks all the boxes! Sony Ericsson Story...

Advantages: Good value for money, excellent sound, good quality camera
Disadvantages: Battery runs down quickly

...I have always had a Sony Ericsson phone eversince i brought my first phone when i was very young. I really like the make and have never had any problems with Sony Ericsson phones, however i brought the W580i sometime last year and have been a bit dissapointed with its performance. I brought the phone from the carphone warehouse as i could it on the network that i wanted and for the first 6 months everything was fine but all of a sudden i began to have problems with the screen. I took it back to the shop and was told that this was quite a common problem with this model of phone. It was sent off to be repaired twice and has been ok since *touch wood!* The walkman on the phone is brilliant, it holds lots of music and the sound is really clear, the camera quality is also very good. It is an ideal shape as it can fit in to your pocket easily...

Advantages: free 515mb memory card, extra options, "Shuffle" control and music & picture quality very good
Disadvantages: buttons crack and stop working for no reason at all!

...I owned this phone for just over a year I was on 02 network and I paid £139.99 for it. The mobile phone software is very good but the phone itself is very disappointing!!!!! First of all the Sony Ericsson W580i comes with a 512MB memory card and a 2.0 mega pixel camera. This obviously means that there is alot of space for pictures, music and video files. The picture quality is also brilliant too. The menu's are easily accessable and is practically the same as other Sony Ericsson mobile phones. On the Sony Ericsson W580i you can listen to the local radio station, Play the Games (My phone came with two games), TrackID (This you put your phone next to a speaker and the song is ID'd but comes with a price), Video Player. A "Video dj" Which allows you to add your videos together, PhotoDJ which allows you to edit...

Advantages: slim, light-weight, feature packed phone
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better

...I have had Sony Ericsson phone for the last 3 or 4 years now and am very happy with them. I find they are the easiest to use (nokia come very close) and they are good quality feature packed phones. This phone is not an exception. If you have used Sony Ericsson before you will be familiar with most of the features on this phone - the only difference really is the appearance and one or two features have been added or upgraded. If you are considering getting this phone, I would imagine you won't have to pay for it, it will be free on most contracts or around £200 sim-free! Shop around for the best deals? As this is a slide phone, you can answer a call by simply opening the phone up and end the call by closing it?it also locks automatically when it is closed which is good. My Sony Ericsson W580i

Advantages: Thin, Good Memory, Aesthetically pleasing, good value for money.
Disadvantages: Cover is worn quite easily, buttons crack quickly.

Sony Ericsson W580i in Pink!

Advantages: Nice little compact phone with plenty of features.
Disadvantages: Needed external memory stick in order to make full use of Walkman feature.

...I had the Sony Ericsson W580i as a temporary replacement when my other phone needed repairing. It cost me just £60 for the pink version as it was a customer return, not used but the seal on the box had been broken. Anyway back to the phone; was pleasantly surprised by how powerful the phone was considering how small and lightweight it was compared to my previous one, it weighs around 94grams. The menu function was clear and concise and it was easy to find what I was looking for. I found it quick and easy to enter additional contact infomation that wasn't stored on my Sim Card, and the whole phone was simple to navigate. The sound clarity when using the Walkman function was very clear and a novel way of shaking the phone to get to the next track was a lot less fiddly than having to keep going into the menu function. ...I have owned this phone for about a month now, on a pay monthly orange contract. I have had sony ericsson phones since 2005, and will probably never go back to another brand. Sony Ericsson has the easiest user interface (once you get used to it, as with all phones) and they are built like bricks. Needless to say, i was just as impressed with this phone as I was with any others I have owned. My phone also includes many other great applications including Photo DJ, Video DJ & Music DJ and my favourite.. Track ID, which enables you to record a short clip of music from the radio, TV or another external music source and it'll send it over the internet and find the song title, artist and album name it is from [if available] Genius! :) The phone includes some fantastic, modern themes, I especially love the 'Splat' theme :) Camera isnt as great as it could be, but its a Walkman phone.. if you're after a Sony Ericsson with a fantastic camera, go for 'K' range. But for a great looking, easy to use music player phone.. this is definately worth looking at!!...
