...This is another hotel from Accor, the founders of Ibis. However i am reviewing the Etap hotel situated on the outskirts of Paris, within an area known as Kremlin Bicetre. In this area, you have the choice between an Ibis hotel, a Novotel and the Etap, as well as various other smaller establishments, of which the Etap is by far the least expensive. The Etap Hotel Paris Porte D'Italie is split into two buildings; Ouest (west) and Est (east). Whereas the western hotel has 144 rooms, the eastern has 171. However both offer the same value for money. But please remember these are low budget, no frills hotels so don't expect to be living in the lap of luxury! The French Etaps are cheaper than those in the UK and will only set you back 48 Euros (around £33) per room per night. But bear in mind there is a 3 Euro suppliment for the second...

Cheap as croissants!

Advantages: Very clean and cheap
Disadvantages: None!

...normally not at all fussed about having breakfast as I find that it is cheaper and more enjoyable to just go to a normal café' and have freshly baked cake or pastries. In general the breakfast experience was positive. People sit around a circular table which has a raised middle area where waiters would put baskets full of croissants, normal bread and the sweet french bread. On another area you would have all sorts of jams, butter, yougurts and of course tea, coffee and juice. It felt a bit like a modest church cafeteria with noises of people chatting away and waiters making noises with cutlery, glasses.. Sad as it may sound we did leave the table with a couple of croissants and jams in our pockets! Etap Hotel Strasbourg is a great place to stay!

Advantages: cheap, clean, comfortable, convenient location, friendly staff
Disadvantages: nothing really, unless you count slightly odd decor

..., I was put into a more spacious room which had a 4th bed (a single). I don't think much of the interior design (I wouldn't have put white, blue, purple and orange together) but the room was clean and comfortable which is what matters. It was also air conditioned (thankfully since it was summer) and had a nice little bathroom. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and there's a secure room where you can put your luggage for ?2 if you need somewhere to leave it before you check in or after you check out. Breakfast is ?5 a day but I never had it myself so I couldn't tell you what it was like. There was also a TV in the room, though I didn't actually watch it. The Etap Hotel in Strasbourg is part of the Etap chain, and I was so impressed with it that when I went to Paris a few months later, I booked a room in one...

Oh La La debmercury stays in Hotel Bellevue Paris

Advantages: Excellent location and good value for money
Disadvantages: Not suitable for disabled people

...The Hotel The Bellevue hotel is a three star hotel and has 36 rooms, which are all nicely decorated in either burgundy or blue tones. It is a four storey building with lots of parisian style. The hotel is a small independantly run hotel which is in a fantastic location 19 Rue d' orsel, 7518 Paris which is at the foot of the Sacre Coeur church in Montmartre. I had pre-booked a taxi online when I booked this break. Taxi was from the Charles de Gaulle airport and when we arrived the Bellevue Hotel was lit up outside and looked very warm and welcoming. The hotel has a small reception desk which is open twenty four hours and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. At the side of the reception desk there is a large rack with lots of tourist information leaflets on where to go and places of interest...

...I recently spent three nights in Paris and booked the hotel through the Euro star website along with my train ticket. In total the hotel cost me around £150 for the three nights for a double room. When I got there I asked if we could change to a twin room and we paid 45 Euros more to do this for the three nights, so the total I paid was around £195. I think this is a very reasonable price for a hotel in Paris, especially because this one was lovely. Firstly, it is located within the Marais area of Paris, which is very nearby the Picasso museum. It is a walk able distance down to the river and to the Louvre etc, however there is a metro station minutes away; Republic. From Republic you can catch the majority of the different metro lines, or you can catch it to a station which will allow you to connect to the line you need. The hotel...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.

Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.

...noticed that under the marquee (which said it was The America Opera) it said Elysees Opera. For some reason the hotel seems to be operating under 2 different names. So if you do decide to stay here, then make sure that you know what you are looking for. It is very easy to get to from the Gare du Nord, as you just take the Blue line (Number 2) towards Port Dauphine and get off at either Place de Clichy or Rome. We used Rome as it was at the less busy end of Boulevard Des Batignoles (the main street running through the area, which Rue de Turin branches from.) This means that it is accessible very easily, although the station did have a lot of steps and I did not notice any wheelchair access. From this metro station, just 5 minutes walk from our hotel we were able to get everywhere in the city, including The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre Museum...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

A great Paris hotel

Advantages: Perfect location, excellent access to Metro and sights.
Disadvantages: Bedroom doors bang loudly when they shut.

I always said to my boyfriend if we came back to Paris let's try another hotel, but for practicality reasons we always end up here, so I've seen a few of their bedrooms. So far I've noticed if you have a slightly smaller room the view or bathroom seems better, the last time I was there it was a small room but we had a little balcony with some little chairs...
