... How I heard about it Readers of glossy beauty publications will all be aware of cult beauty products. Ones that stand the test of time despite the young pretender?s constant efforts - ones like Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream, Crème de la mer and yes, even good old vaseline! Products such as these always intrigue me because magazines are pushing the latest ?new best thing? every issue and to be honest, I find it hard to believe that they are not only promoting it because they have been given it free etc. I mean how good can a face cream be if by just 1 month later there is another, better wonder product on the market? Eve Lom Cleanser - Excellent product helped clear my problem skin

Advantages: Great product, cleared my skin up, lasts for ages
Disadvantages: It's a little more time consuming to use than most cleansers

...I'm 28 years old and have had problem skin (mainly due to hormones) for the past 18 months. I've tried so many well known brand products over the last year and have been so dissapointed, as after spenidng a fortune I've found that within a couple of weeks of using them my skin flares up again. I discovered the Eve Lom cleanser in Space NK about 4 months ago - one of the consultants recommended it - and have been using it twice daily since. It has done wonders for my skin, I'm still prone to the odd breakout but it's cleared up the acne, sorted out the areas that were prone to dryness and done wonders for my skin tone. It appears to be more expensive than other brands, for example Elemis foaming cleanser is apporox £19, Eve Lom cleanser is £45 for the smallest tub, however a small tub will last about 4 months which therefore works out...

Admittedly, on first impressions, the packaging does not justyify the £45.00 you spend on the standard size jar. It is a bit clinical and not at all glamourous, just a plain white pot in a white box. But, once you open that white pot and breathe in deeply, oh what a sensory delight. Arguably the best cleanser in the world....!

Advantages: Bright, clear complexion. Soft skin. Feels like a pampering session each time!

...I bought this product after reading about it in a magazine. Being a beauty product junkie, I had to give it a try. I shopped around to try and get a good price on the cleanser as it is quite pricy. I eventually bought it from Space NK online for £48 for 100ml. There are a few Ebay sellers that stock Eve Lom so it is definitely worth a look before purchasing. It does appear to be quite expensive but my 100ml tub has lasted me 6months. WIth the cleanser, there is a step by step cleansing routine guide especially designed for skin in need of some care. This can be congested skin or dehydrated skin. (how does that work I hear you ask - I'll explain later!). The guide shows you different pressure points on the face that stimulate regeneration.   Eve magazine: Perfect? Or am I just ageing?

Advantages: Funny and vibrant, good for most ages
Disadvantages: Film reviews leave a lot to be desired

However, my dilemma was resolved two months ago, when I casually added a copy of Eve magazine (apparently Britain's fastest growing women's glossy) to my Tesco?s shopping trolley. Bestseller for a reason

If you know your beauty products, as I do (thanks Benniash ;)), or you're a big Eve Lom fan, you'll know that this is the product which she is most famous for-this is her #1 selling product! I was very excited about this when I first bought it, mostly b/c of it's reputation and i'm a sucker for advertising and recommendations. Well, you may be shocked (I just saw some of the comments you made on my Eve Lom Rescue Mask op!) but this cleanser cost me £68 (200ml)from Space NK; you get a HUGE amount! It's a massive tub-if you want to try this out first, you can buy smaller versions (£22.50 50ml) which is a good idea! This cleanser is a cut above the rest-it contains four aromatic oils: camomile, eucalyptus, clove and hops which combine to offer cleansing, decongesting and soothing properties to the skin...

Average Spot Treatment

Advantages: Mild for sensitive skin-types; smell; packaging and colour
Disadvantages: Not strong enough for me, applicator

...I bought this, along with my other Eve Lom products because I expected them all to be as good as each other. I have quite a few spot creams because I do tend to get them often, around exam-time! I thought that this was really pretty-the bottle is really classy-clear glass, with a gold lid and gold writing. The treatment is pink! It's much nicer looking than other spot creams I've bought in the past. The problem with spot creams, especially for sensitive skins, is that some dry out the skin around your zit, making it worse, and some are so sensitive that they don't dry out the zit or your skin at all. This product falls into the later category; it's very gentle, but I found that it took at least 3 nights to dry out my spot. I thought that the ingredients in this product were very interesting b/c the tea-tree oil would dry out zits...

Advantages: Lovely descriptive novel, beautifully written

...A friend lent me this book this week, I started reading it yesterday afternoon having been off work with a stomach bug and finished it this morning. I had never heard of the author Susan Fletcher and wasn't aware of the novel which had won the 2004 Whitbread First Novel Award and was on the Richard and Judy Summer Read list 2005. However it transported me to the Welsh rugged countryside and helped take my mind of feeling unwell and gave me some inspiration to write another review. The story is told by Eve Green the central character in the novel and she is 29 years old and expecting her first baby. The book describes her memories from when she was 7 years old, that was when she first learnt to fully write her own name "Evangeline Green" and when her mother died. Good cleanser - eye wateringly pricey

Advantages: Gets all makeup including eye makeup off

...day. My skin felt good after using the Eve Lom cleanser but once the pot had gone I didn't feel an urge to rush out and spend another £39 on another one. And I can't be the only person who gets really annoyed at the massive box the cleanser comes in. You then open the box to find the cloths are wrapped round a very small pot!!!! Yes, the cleansing techniques are very useful, but I've been using the Lush Ultrabland cleanser with the same effects and it's miles cheaper. The Eve Lom cleanser is a bit of a cult and while I can see it works very well, it's not the be all and end all, and massively overpriced in my opiion....
