Evesham - England
-----------------------------
Evesham, a very large rural market town which is located in Worcestshire England. Evesham is also surrounded by small villages such as Broadway, a very posh village which is part of the Cotswolds, where I previously lived for five years...
Three big towns are also set around Evesham. These towns are Stratford Up-On Avon, where Shakespere once was, Worcester where one of the nearest hospitals are and is the county which holds Evesham, and finally Cheltenham where some of the best shops are and many members of Ciao live in Cheltenham, which are very easy to access with only half an hour or an hour away from Evesham...
Evesham is quite popular amoungst tourists. One of the main reasons is because of the River that runs through the rural area. The river...

Evesham
Advantages: Great scenery and peaceful
Disadvantages: Too Quiet for me
...The rural Market town, Evesham is situated in the picturesque Vale of Evesham about 30 miles from Birmingham and only 6 miles from the beautiful Cotswolds. Although the Cattle Market has long gone to be replaced by yet more flats there are still other markets. There is the daily covered market and the Saturday Market in the town's Market Square selling all sorts. Occasionally there are Farmers and Street Markets selling more specialised product.
Evesham is famous for several things :PLUMS, APPLES, PEARS and most famously ASPARAGUS. SIMON DE MONTFORT known as the father of the English Parliament died here in the bloody Battle of Evesham in 1265.
Evesham's name is derived from a swineherd called Eoves who claimed to see a vision of the Virgin Mary, which also inspired the creation of Evesham Abbey which was mostly destroyed after...

My Evesham Experiences
Advantages: Pricing, range/specs, helpful staff/tech support.
Disadvantages: Not a store in every town, RAM upgrade unavailable when I visited.
...In late September of last year (2002) I purchased an Evesham Voyager 5614 laptop from Evesham.com in Swansea (now relocated to the Evesham Microstore shop opposite the Grand Theatre).
When considering which PC I was going to buy for university, there were a number of considerations. Chief amongst these were speed, size and price.
I visited all the major PC retailers in my area, and online, and eventually decided that a laptop was my best bet, as it allowed portability (if I need to take it to lectures, the library etc) and the gap between desktop and laptop speed and spec is now so small as to be negligible where everyday use is concerned. PC World and the other Dixons group stores offered a good selection of brands, and a wide variety of specs. Dell seemed to have high powered, yet high priced machines, whilst Evesham, from who I...

When things go wrong - Evesham delivers
Advantages: Good systems, knowledgeable staff, warranty
Disadvantages: Few stores in UK, but good website
...About 20 months ago, I decided my old Packard-Bell PC was struggling to cope with the software I had installed on it, particularly with the demands of digital photo and video editing, and resigned myself to the need to part with more hard-earned on a new PC. My first thoughts were to go for a Dell PC as we used them at work, and they seemed to be aggressively targeting the home user. However, at this time, Dell had just reduced their inclusive warranty from three years to one year, and their pricing was not so competitive if you didn?t want one of their promotional packages.
So I began researching alternatives, and Evesham consistently rated highly in the PC magazines and seemed to offer good spec for money options. I trundled off to my local Evesham shop (fortunately there is one local to me ? although they only have about 15...

GPS extraordinaire
Advantages: Very fast connection speeds
Disadvantages: None
...After purchasing a Pocket PC (HP hx4700) mainly for use as a calender assistant and portable web browsing device, I soon discovered that it could also be used as a portable Sat Nav device as well, allowing applications such as Tomtom to be uploaded onto it, and for those who are interested in light aircraft flying, like me, memory map is fantastic aviation GPS program which can be used on using actual CAA aviation maps with GPS data overlay for flight planning and tracking purposes. The one extra hardware add-on which is needed to allow tomtom and memory map to function is a GPS receiver device. I had previously purchased a Compact Flash card extension GPS receiver which plugged into the Pocket PC's existing ports directly, unfortunately, it was very poor at satellite tracking and position locking, taking several minutes to lock-on to...

EVESHAM CLOSING DOWN
Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: THEY ARE GOING
...EVESHAM has made most of their staff redundant. On Friday 3rd August 2007 they marched most of the staff off site and shut down their retail stores. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. The only staff left will probably be gone when existing orders have been completed and delivered to the unsuspecting customers. I was in the Evesham showroom today and no one there mentioned anything was wrong. I had to search the Internet to find out exactly was was going on. I am not sure what is happening about support but you absolutely MUST NOT purchase anything from them. The original owner , Richard Austin, sold most of the stock to another outfit called TIMEUK about 3 months ago. Nothing was mentioned about this in the press....

Evesham Computers
Advantages: Very speedy delivery, good service/support so far
Disadvantages: No manuals with computer.
...I ordered an Evesham Axis 1333SK computer in May this year, having conducted the usual market research, poring over computer mags, etc. My old machine was a Gateway - state of the art 5 years ago, but now heading towards obsolescence at breakneck speed - and I was generally happy with its performance. The biggest drawback with Gateway was the soul-destroying business of contacting their helpline. Also, it took me a year to convince them that my modem was not working, and obtain a replacement. So, I was won over by Evesham's excellent reputation for customer support. Also, the deal on offer was, along with Mesh, the best available.
My computer arrived within a week - very slick service! I've now had it for 5 months, and it's in pretty constant use by all the family. So far I am delighted with it. The only minor blip came when I tried...

Evesham - Loyal customer lost
Advantages: Good Machines if you can get one!
Disadvantages: Shock Sales service
...I have to agree with a few of the other reviews. The computers Evesham produce are excellent, and having owned one for 9 trouble free years (except keyboard/mouse and speaker problems which were all rectified by Evesham immediately) I was going straight to them for my next machines. I bought a basic laptop, no problems with that. However when it came to the desktop it was a different matter. 8 attempts to get my order right, then 3 weeks without hearing anything, then a lot of telephone calls, one with a rude sales supervisor (who incidently was 100% wrong), to then have my computer turn up with no monitor and a scratch down the coolermaster case! I tried to call the sales agent to find out what was going on only yo be transfered directly to customer services because I now had my computer and it was after sales service. However...

Beware Evesham it's not what it used to be!
Advantages: Brilliant systems if they work
Disadvantages: Terrible third party repairs or rather lack of repairs!
...Over the years I had bought two desk top PC's from Evesham plus inherited a very old second hand one. All of them were faultless; one was even repaired just a month off the 3 year warranty and upgraded too, at no extra cost.
So last year, when I wanted a notebook, I did not even look at other companies but went straight to Evesham and had a £999 notebook delivered, with the added security of 3 year onsite warranty!
From day one the notebook did not work properly, often failing to shut down, freezing, and crashing. I contacted Evesham and was told it was user error. I assured them I did know what I was doing, and had 2 other home systems that did not behave like this. I kept a log and photographs off all the errors. Eventually Evesham said they would pick up the notebook, apparently it is in the small print that onsite doesn't mean...

Gps 72 Handheld
Advantages: Lightweight and waterproof
Disadvantages: Wrist Strap
...I am a commercial fisherman who relies on both exact and dependability in a Gps navigation aid.
The Garmin Gps 72 is a very dependable unit i use another brand on my boat while working and i have the gp 72 beside it and have found it to be a better unit allround, so i hear you all say, well this is why i mentioned my other unit, the other ones costs nearly £700 and is a fixed unit, with a smaller display.
My gp 72 cost me £130 and is handheld and portable, also with the correct lead available from Garmin you can download and update data from your computer or laptop.
I use mine for work when i am called out for the HM Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team that i am a member of and found it is very accurate and dependable.
It has a clear display excellent features easy to use menus and functions, setup is easy as all you have to do is...
