Casio Exilim EZ-X11 Compact Digital Camera
Review of Casio Exilim EX-Z11 by
jjlen
Advantages: Many features, top of its class for qualtiy, style and functionality
Disadvantages: Camera lense extends beyond camera body when in use
...The Casio Exilim EX-Z11 is my first compact digital camera, and was attracted to it by its range of features at a great price.
the EZ-X11 is an attractive, small light-weight camera, with 3x optical zoom, 7.2M pixel, and a great 2.6" screen.
The camera takes SD cards, and has USB/AV connectivity. Packaged with the camera are the battery, charger, AV cable, USB cable, strap and CD-ROM, which includes software and full instruction manual, however a paper quick-start guide is included.
The picture quality is excellent, and there are many options for users to change settings to obtain desired results, including ISO, white balance, EV, picture quality and resolution, manual or auto focus, plus many other settings. However there is also a Best Shot function, providing access to many pre-set options allowing for quick set-up for different...

Affordable Quality
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
mcfarlane
Advantages: price, 1200 dpi
Disadvantages: not for constant heavy use
...I went looking for a printer that could do the day to day printing of letters, essays etc. but also print a quality image now and again. I found what I was looking for in the Z11. At about £70, this one click installation machine has worked perfectly for a number of months.
When printing mono, it produces about 4 or 5 pages a minute and it does maybe 2 pages per minute in colour mode.
The sheet feeder claims to hold 100 sheets, I would say it's probably safer to put about 80 in at a time. The jet printer is not suitable for heavy use but for me it does a fine job....

Good overall printer
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
pidgypodgy
Advantages: Good print quality for a cheap printer
Disadvantages: Expensive to replace cartridges which run out quickly
...I purchased a Lexmark Z11 in February 99 for £69. I had been informed that the print quality was very good and it was a reasonable price. Overall I am very impressed with the printer. It was very easy to install and you also got a free colour cartridge with it. I was a little shocked when I realised it would cost me £55 to replace the colour and black cartridge and was a little disappointed with how quickly the ink ran out. Plus you have to change the cartridges depending on what type of printing you’re doing. The quality is good and when printing out photos on glossy paper the results are excellent. It is just a shame that I have to limit the amount of stuff I print due to the cost of replacing the cartridges....

Sadly disapointed
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
andyluk
Advantages: Fast at printing, very quiet, nice compact design.
Disadvantages: Poor colour printing, you have to change the colour and black and white cartidges around.
...I went out looking for a printer, mainly for printing pictures and artwork. I decided to go with the Lexmark Z11 because it look small and compact and didn't look too big and bulky like alot of printers out there do. I was also drawn to the printer because it stated it was 1200 x 1200 dpi, which i thought must have made it print out top quality pictures. So i bought the printer (£79.99, Toy story 2 pack). I set the printer up which was very easy and was delighted with the way it look taking up very little room etc. Soon as i started printing a few pictures out, the picture weren't coming out as good as what i had expected. All the light colours had faint horizontal lines. I checked if i'd put the printer on the highest quality setting, to find that 600 x 600 dpi was the highest for printing in colour. So the 1200 x 1200 dpi must just...

Good Low-budget Printer
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
darrenloud
Advantages: Reasonably good value, easy to setup and maintain.
Disadvantages: Quite slow, not suitable for high-quality printouts.
...I use the Lexmark Z 11 at work. It's not the best printer I have ever used but it is not the worst either. Its relatively standard as printers go.
It prints at 1600 DPI and can either have a black or colour inkjet cartridge installed at a time. It can print about 4 pages per minute on average, which isn't bad going. On some occasions it can print more than that.
It costs around £50 - £75 now, although it was over £100 when it was bought at work. Its very reliable, can hold more than 30 sheets of paper in the feeder and it is easy to maintain and install new cartridges.
It's main set back is the cost of replacement cartridges. Black one's cost around £25 and colour one's cost about £30, depending on where you go.
If you are looking for a budget printer for home use, you couldn't go to far wrong with this one....

cheap and cheerful printing
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
peppermint
Advantages: small, compact, cheap
Disadvantages: Have to keep swapping cartridges around
...The Lexmark Z11 is a dinky "mini metro" printer which looks cute and takes up very little room on the table! I bought this about a year ago as it looked good, promised 1200x1200 dpi printing and only cost £70 on the internet (it can now be found for around £40 as it has been superceded by other models). I have been quite impressed with this printr - it is reasonably quiet in operation, reasonably fast for the price, and easy to set up. It's print quality is reasonable in both black and colour. In fact everything about the printer is reasonable - not the best in any field but not the worst either. There are a number of points to bear in mind. The colour print quality is much better if you use photo quality paper rather than normal paper. Printing colour on normal paper produces poor results. You need to swap the colour and black...

Top value, Top marks Top printing
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
sharonB
Advantages: price , print quality
Disadvantages: none
...We were desperate to buy a printer as in the 2 years we've had a computer we had not got around to buying one but the problem we had was were didn't have much money so we chose the lexmark Z11 and Im very glad we did.
Right from the very start it's been so easy to use , to start with it was a very quick and easy set up and then away you go. Even an idiot can use it (and I can vouch for that lol)
The printing is top quality and at 1200dpix1200dpi it can give near photo quality. Of course you can change the Dpi setting as you don't need it that high for documents and I think this is why some people think that the printing quality isn't so great as they haven't changed the options,
Its also a very quick printer and we got a free Disney design studio with it which is great for the kids as they love to make there own cards and bookmarks...

Not a king but a prints
Review of Lexmark Z 11 Color Jetprinter by
winprizes2000
Advantages: cheap to buy and run
Disadvantages: difficult for me to change ink
...The Lexmark Z11 came as standard with my PC from Dixons so to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be great, my initial reaction was that of disappointment as it would not work at all.
The keys to an easy life with a printer are easy to load paper and a cartridge that is simple to instsall. Maybe my size 12 feet mean that my hands are too large for the easy insertion of a printer cartridge as despite following the basic instructions provided I managed to wedge the cartridge half in and half out of it holder.
This led to a concerning noise leading me to beleive the motor would burn itself out - the removal of this was an act of brute force rather than skill.
Since the correct insertion the printer has behaved - the paper is top loading and east to access, though half of each sheet is left exposed to accumalate dirt and dust. The speed...

Lex vs the World
Review of Lexmark X1130 by
Tanelorn
Advantages: Speedy, Reliable and not as costly as most
Disadvantages: The print cartridges are slightly more expensive
...Before I start the review itself, I will give a little background as to what this is being compared to in my experience.
First of all, the X1130 is an upgrade from the far inferior Lexmark Z11 printer and a Mustek scanner, which were bought purely because they were cheap at the time. I have used various makes and models of printer, both Inkjet and laser (it would be unfair for me to compare the X1130 to a laser, so I'll just be sticking to the Inkjet comparison.) in the course of both home and work computer use.
My X1130 was bought a couple of weeks ago from Argos for the princely sum of £59.99 (plus approx £10 for a USB cable, but that is more a problem with Argos than the equipment), and it immediately took the place of my old grubby Z11 atop my computer desk, a sleek black and silver printer replacing the old white monstrosity...
