Travelodge Exeter
Advantages: Convenient for motorway
Disadvantages: Service
...I have stayed at quite a few travelodges in the UK without any problems or complaints, but avoid this one at all cost.
My room stunk, the smell was emanating from the bathroom sink.
The Wifi advertised was so slow it took over 10 minutes to boot up the welcome page. When i phoned up the service provider I was given the usual bs about it must be my equipment.(Strange as it had been working perfectly a half mile up the road at another Wifi area).
Went for a meal in the adjoining Harry Ramsdens restaurant and ordered sausage and mash with green beans. The unappetising looking dish arrived with no green beans. I called the waitress over and she went to get some. They arrived approx 2 minutes later, cold.
I have complained to Travelodge, which prompted a reply from the manager of the Exeter site, asking me to phone him.
When I...

Exeter
Advantages: Centre of Devon
Disadvantages: None
...Exeter is a really great city to be studying in. the campus is located up on the top of the hill over looking the city and has loads of green space and trees etc.
In the summer it's lovely but in the winter when it starts raining sideways it gets a bit bleak.
There are loads of things to do in terms of nightlife. besides the union bars and the Lemon Grove where loads of cool bands play, there is also the pheonix and cavern if you're into rock or punk stuff and a couple of nightclubs too.
The clubs down on the Quay tend to be full of 16 year olds who are absolutely lashed on white lighting and decked out head to toe in topman gear and ben shermans, but quite a lot of students go to arena nightclub at the other end of town.
The Wetherspoons pub called The Imperial is just 10 mins walk from the university and is packed during...

NASTY BUSINESS!
Advantages: Compelling reading
Disadvantages: Some similarities to other novels by the author, strong language may offend some.
...Review of The Business, a hardback novel by Martina Cole
The Business is Martina Cole's latest offering in a long line of best selling novels set against a backdrop of London's criminal underworld. For those unfamiliar with Ms Cole's books, she writes of subjects unsavoury, seedy and at times, uncomfortable. Nothing is taboo to Ms Cole and The Business covers violence, murder, prostitution, drug addiction, child abuse and neglect . Her writing style is gritty and she produces novels that are hauntingly readable. Readers are under no illusions about her characters and their lifestyles, a peep into a world very different from most people's reality, Ms Cole's books have the ability to shock, fascinate, touch and repulse me as the story unfolds!

Change of Business?
Advantages: Another Book From Cole
Disadvantages: Not a great page turner
...Martina Cole - The Business?..
**The Book**
Martina Cole's latest novel entitled "The Business" is yet another book filled with the gritty, hard hitting seediness that is the London underworld. We go back in time to the late 70's and meet the Dooley family. Gerald Dooley SNR, head of the house, Mary Dooley the mother of three children, two sons and a daughter, Imelda. Imelda is the main charter throughout the book as we follow her life, which is bad from start to finish.
Imelda is trouble with a capital "T" and this is something that her family are soon to realise. Her sexually loose behaviour soon gets her with "a belly full of arms and legs" as Martina Cole so eloquently puts it, and this causes major friction within the family. Her father, Gerald SNR, cannot believe that his young and angelic daughter is already giving...

My Hometown, Exeter.........
Advantages: Great city, full of culture and history, and plenty to amuse anyone
Disadvantages: none
...life as a major crossing point for the river, before later becoming an important dock Now it is more businesses based, and provides the local farming community.
Exeter had a settlement on Roman time, and some of the old walls are still standing today. Obviously the place has expended somewhat, the walls are nowhere near the modern boundaries, and there are several archaeological finds, especially in the Albert museum, more on that later. Exeter was bombed very heavily in the second world war, so there is a curious mixture of 50s/60s modern buildings amongst Victorian terraces, Tudor wood houses and elegant Georgian buildings in the place. Exeter had no strategically importance, it was bombed purely as it is a beautiful place, and in revenge the RAF and American started the Dresden bombings. A very tragic part of the city’s history...

The best decision made to study at Exeter
Advantages: almost everything students look for when choosing a university
Disadvantages: limited accommodation
...It is the second year I study at Exeter and honestly I enjoy every minute here with a beautiful campus in a city of a mixture of tranquility and vibrance. Not a huge city but you have everything you need with a wide variety of shops and restaurants offering products of different price range. I walk to town from the campus almost every day to do a bit shopping. Last year I lived in Cook Mews which was really superb as the room layout was so spacious and practical. I was lucky that my room didn't face the rail and was relatively quiet but even my flatmates who were on the opposite side said they didn't have sleeping problem at all.
I study Account and Finance and I must say that Exeter Business School is one of the best in the country. We have knowledgeable and supportive lecturers; teaching is of a high quality and students are all...

Historic Exeter
Advantages: Attractive architecture.Good base for touring South Devon
Disadvantages: Some of the modern archiecture is not appealin
...Exeter, in South Devon, is a pleasant city with a delightful Cathedral and close, a compact shopping centre, museums and art galleries and the Northcott Theatre. The University of Exeter is one of the most attractive campuses in the UK and Exeter is also the home city of the Devon and Dorset Regiment.
The lodging scene in the city is good: there are several elegant hotels in the city centre and several more on the edge of the city including one near Exeter Airport. There are also guest houses and a lot of homely bed and breakfast places in Exeter and prices of accommodation are reasonable.
The town has a football league team, Exeter City, and recreational facilities in Exeter are good. There are a number of high-quality restaurants and a good range of ethnic eateries including Italian, Indian and Chinese. Another very attractive...

The Business
Advantages: Sunny
Disadvantages: Boring
...The Business is set in the 1980s and tells the story of a young man from London who goes to work in Spain. The film is set in the Costa del Sol,
The acting, the storyline and the script in this film is not very good..
I might recommended this film for the soundtrack but not much else because it really isn't that good.
I rented this film without the additional disc of extras so I can't really tell you anything about them. Even so, I wouldn't bother watching it if I were you.

Exeter City - The Grecians
Advantages: Got more monet from TV deals and are no londer in recivership, good signings - experience and qualirty in Richardson, Barlow and McCarthy and Blake will have learnt a thing or two off Perryman
Disadvantages: They dont own their ground, the city council do and other financial problems and they will miss Perryman for his tactics and knowlage
...Exeter City are one of three third division football teams from Devon. Like counterparts Torquay Exeter have struggled with one of the worst problems in football, the dreaded drop out of the league into the conference. Torquay beat Barnet on the last day of the season to send Barnet down, and keep Torquay in the league by the skin of their teeth. Exeter went even closer in 1994, finishing bottom of the table, but got a reprieve when the conference team that won promotion failed to come up to scratch on their ground. Several times City fans have counted their blessings that there is only one relegation spot in division three, and after the league council overturned a bid from the conference clubs to extent the relegation/promotion spots to two or three places, Exeter look as if they may defy the acts and survive again...

Historical Exeter
Advantages: One of the oldest cities in the UK
Disadvantages: none
...I'm concentrating on the historical aspect, as Exeter offers so much, it would be impossible to include everything in one opinion. Exeter is the gateway to the Southwest, with easy access to the M5. Its the capital of Devon and also a Cathedral city. If you are a visitor to the area, you will soon discover, that Exeter is steeped in history, if you look beyond the shops and offices.
Exeter or Isca Dumnoniorum dates back to the Roman era, established in 50AD, making it one of the oldest cities in the United Kingdom. Originally it was a Roman settlement, then developed into a city. Some of the original walls can still be seen today, although Exeter has increased in size somewhat. Almost in the centre of the city is the Cathedral of St Peter, built by the Normans around 1100AD. The cathedral has been largely rebuilt over the years...
