Exeter
Advantages: Centre of Devon
Disadvantages: None
...the summer term. If you want more of a quiet drink, check out the Old Firehouse pub - just down the road from Debenhams.
There are loads of shops and all the big brands you need like HMV, waterstones, WHSmiths and stuff and loads of clothes shops. In fact, exeter is great for shopping because its all there really close together.
After the first year most students share accomodation around the football ground. its about 10 mins walk from university and is typically small terraced houses with about 4 people in each.
cant think of much else to say really - other than im really glad iI'm here and am looking forward to my remaining years!!!...

Travelodge Exeter
Advantages: Convenient for motorway
Disadvantages: Service
...I have stayed at quite a few travelodges in the UK without any problems or complaints, but avoid this one at all cost.
My room stunk, the smell was emanating from the bathroom sink.
The Wifi advertised was so slow it took over 10 minutes to boot up the welcome page. When i phoned up the service provider I was given the usual bs about it must be my equipment.(Strange as it had been working perfectly a half mile up the road at another Wifi area).
Went for a meal in the adjoining Harry Ramsdens restaurant and ordered sausage and mash with green beans. The unappetising looking dish arrived with no green beans. I called the waitress over and she went to get some. They arrived approx 2 minutes later, cold.
I have complained to Travelodge, which prompted a reply from the manager of the Exeter site, asking me to phone him.
When I...

Historic Exeter
Advantages: Attractive architecture.Good base for touring South Devon
Disadvantages: Some of the modern archiecture is not appealin
...Exeter, in South Devon, is a pleasant city with a delightful Cathedral and close, a compact shopping centre, museums and art galleries and the Northcott Theatre. The University of Exeter is one of the most attractive campuses in the UK and Exeter is also the home city of the Devon and Dorset Regiment.
The lodging scene in the city is good: there are several elegant hotels in the city centre and several more on the edge of the city including one near Exeter Airport. There are also guest houses and a lot of homely bed and breakfast places in Exeter and prices of accommodation are reasonable.
The town has a football league team, Exeter City, and recreational facilities in Exeter are good. There are a number of high-quality restaurants and a good range of ethnic eateries including Italian, Indian and Chinese. Another very attractive...

My Hometown, Exeter.........
Advantages: Great city, full of culture and history, and plenty to amuse anyone
Disadvantages: none
...life as a major crossing point for the river, before later becoming an important dock Now it is more businesses based, and provides the local farming community.
Exeter had a settlement on Roman time, and some of the old walls are still standing today. Obviously the place has expended somewhat, the walls are nowhere near the modern boundaries, and there are several archaeological finds, especially in the Albert museum, more on that later. Exeter was bombed very heavily in the second world war, so there is a curious mixture of 50s/60s modern buildings amongst Victorian terraces, Tudor wood houses and elegant Georgian buildings in the place. Exeter had no strategically importance, it was bombed purely as it is a beautiful place, and in revenge the RAF and American started the Dresden bombings. A very tragic part of the city’s history...

* The Bunny House *
Advantages: Funny , Plot
Disadvantages: May Send Out Wrong Message To Young Girls!
...Recently I have been swapping DVDs with my friend ; I've been borrowing her 'up-to-date' movies and she's been watching my 'rom-coms'. One of the DVDs which I borrowed from my friend was a film called ' The House Bunny'.
The House Bunny is an American romantic comedy film released in the United Kingdom on 10th October 2008. This film stars Anna Faris , (who's previous films include , Just Friends and My Super Ex Girlfriend). Running time of the movie is ninety seven minutes (seven minutes over one hour and a half).
Shelley (Faris) is a playboy playmate living a luxury life in the playboy mansion. Soon after her twenty seventh birthday , she is told that she is now too old to be a playboy bunny and so it 'thrown out' of the playboy house. Feeling upset and lonely , she tries hard to fit in with other girl groups , although soon...

Exeter City - The Grecians
Advantages: Got more monet from TV deals and are no londer in recivership, good signings - experience and qualirty in Richardson, Barlow and McCarthy and Blake will have learnt a thing or two off Perryman
Disadvantages: They dont own their ground, the city council do and other financial problems and they will miss Perryman for his tactics and knowlage
...Exeter City are one of three third division football teams from Devon. Like counterparts Torquay Exeter have struggled with one of the worst problems in football, the dreaded drop out of the league into the conference. Torquay beat Barnet on the last day of the season to send Barnet down, and keep Torquay in the league by the skin of their teeth. Exeter went even closer in 1994, finishing bottom of the table, but got a reprieve when the conference team that won promotion failed to come up to scratch on their ground. Several times City fans have counted their blessings that there is only one relegation spot in division three, and after the league council overturned a bid from the conference clubs to extent the relegation/promotion spots to two or three places, Exeter look as if they may defy the acts and survive again...

The best decision made to study at Exeter
Advantages: almost everything students look for when choosing a university
Disadvantages: limited accommodation
...It is the second year I study at Exeter and honestly I enjoy every minute here with a beautiful campus in a city of a mixture of tranquility and vibrance. Not a huge city but you have everything you need with a wide variety of shops and restaurants offering products of different price range. I walk to town from the campus almost every day to do a bit shopping. Last year I lived in Cook Mews which was really superb as the room layout was so spacious and practical. I was lucky that my room didn't face the rail and was relatively quiet but even my flatmates who were on the opposite side said they didn't have sleeping problem at all.
I study Account and Finance and I must say that Exeter Business School is one of the best in the country. We have knowledgeable and supportive lecturers; teaching is of a high quality and students are all...

Historical Exeter
Advantages: One of the oldest cities in the UK
Disadvantages: none
...but the two Norman towers remain today.
A roman bathhouse was discovered within the grounds of the cathedral in the 1970's when the area was excavated. It has since been preserved and recovered but you will find detailed information about the baths in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in South Street.
In the Cathedral Close stood Mols Coffee House, this was often frequented by both Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake. They were also known to visit The Ship Inn in Martins Lane. It is thought that Drake still visits!!
On the supernatural front, Bram Stoker featured Exeter in his famous book 'Dracula'. Solicitor Johnathon Harker departed for his journey to Transylvania from the Cathedral Close.
Moving away from this area, across the High Street you will come across Rougemont Castle built by William the Conqueror in 1068...

house rules
Advantages: great
Disadvantages: have to wait for next seriwes
...House is a fantastic series and I missed the first one but got in to watching this in the second series, so I rushed out to buy the first series box set and I could not stop watching it, it is so addictive. If you love medical dramas then this is one for you as it's not all your normal diagnosis, each episode goes through a new medical dilemma they have to try and solve and they are not your usual colds and virus's.
House is a medical programme with a diagnosis to be made, so each episode has you playing doctor trying to figure what has caused the patient's medical condition.
House is an American drama and is about Dr Gregory House played by Hugh Laurie he is a fantastic doctor, unfortunately he does not seem to have the patience for patients, and Dr House is a Doctor who says what he wants and does what he wants regardless of other...

A Wooden Album by Crowded House?
Advantages: 'Woodface' includes some of the most sublime love songs ever written
Disadvantages: It's all a bit much and much the same; the tracks that do dare to be different, don't fit
...Although I will always consider Crowded House to be one of my ?Dad?s bands? I have to say that I?ve developed strong feelings for many of the groups songs over the years. Teenagers are funny like that; we?ll go off on our own tour of music, claiming that Eminem and Dr. Dre are ?da bomb? before realising it was The Beatles and folky bands like Fleetwood Mac and Crowded House that vied for our earphones all along.
On a couple of occasions, my Dad has bundled my Brother and I ? along with my Mum ? into the car and driven about two hours away to Nottingham in a vague attempt to educate us in terms of music. By doing so, he was making us watch the Finn Brothers, a song writing duo that have had a fairly rocky past. Neil Finn ? the lead singer and metaphorical leader of Crowded House ? and Tim Finn were once in a band called Split Enz who...
