A magical expansion pack for The Sims.
Advantages: Adds a lot of new gameplay.
Disadvantages: None really, unless you don't like The Sims.
...~~~*~~~ Sims Makin' Magic Expansion Pack ~~~*~~~
I have been playing The Sims for years and I have never used one of the many expansion packs until just before Christmas. I was on Amazon trying to spend some of those lovely Dooyoo Miles and I stumbled across the Makin' Magic expansion. (I ended up spending the Dooyoo Miles on something else though as this was SO cheap on the marketplace side of Amazon).
~~~*~~~ The Sims? ~~~*~~~
The Sims is a life simulation game made by Maxis. I am not going to write a whole load of stuff about the Sims but if you have never heard of it before look for some reviews of it or check out Wikipedia for loads of really useful information.
As previously mention Makin' Magic is an Expansion Pack for the original Sims game. You need to have a version of the original game installed on your PC before...
the sims 2 pets expansion pack
Advantages: great new features
Disadvantages: i prefer holiday pack more
...The product I am reviewing is "the Sims 2 pet's expansion"
About a year ago I loved playing on the Sims 2 games.
I paid £14.99 for this game from play.com
Id purchased : The Sims 2 University, The Sims 2 Nightlife, The Sims 2 Open For Business, The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff Pack, The Sims 2 Seasons ,The Sims 2 Bon Voyage and of course last but not least the Sims 2 pets .
The thing that appealed to me the most about purchasing the expansion and stuff packs were the fact they offered great new furniture, hair styles, clothes, dialect, houses, cars and many other things my Sims could experiment.
Buying the expansion packs made playing on the Sims 2 so much more entertaining, when you buy a game and you play it religiously after so long you get bored of it but with the large choice of expansion and stuff packs available you always had...
A great expansion pack
Advantages: Now add stunts, new effects, new sets
Disadvantages: still only runs untill 2000
...OVERVIEW:
This game is an expansion pack for the Lionhead game The Movies. This pack adds the ability to put stunts into your films.
GAME PLAY:
The game is set up exactly the same as The Movies. You are in charge of a new movie studio in the 1920s and you have to; build up your studio. Hire stars and maintenance staff, and most important of all make movies.
This new expansion pack introduces the ability to add a variety of stunts to the movies. For this to happen successfully you have to employ stunt men. Actors that you already have can perform their own stunts but they are less likely to pull them off. If the do though it makes your film have a higher rating. Stunt men/women are employed from a stunt building. They then have to be trained on 3 different types of training apparatus. The more they train the better the stunts...
Another great expansion pack
Advantages: zombies! new life stage and items, new interactions
Disadvantages: none
...Although I don't own this expansion pack for my sims 2 game, I have played it a lot on my friends computer. This is a big expansion pack that adds a whole new neighbourhood, the college neighbourhood to the the game. On the sims 2 deluxe there is an icon for this neighbourhood although it doesn't load unless you have this expansion pack.
The main thing this pack allows sims to do is go to college - teenage sims can go to college where they become young adults, a new stage of life introduced to the game with this pack. This life stage only happens to sims going to college though, other sims just become adults. Once you send a teenager to college, you can go to the college neighbourhood to control them where they progress through 4 years of study. It's a good way to make sims from different families get to know each other as you can...
Another brilliant expansion pack from Maxis!
Advantages: Offers a pretty realistic approach to university
Disadvantages: Stops the other generations and time doesn't follow properly
...As with all expansion packs, you get your basic extras on top of what you already have. So, with the university expansion, not only do your sims get the university experience, but you get a whole host of new items, such as new furniture, outfits and places to go.
The brilliance of this expansion is its close reality to the real life university experience. Your sim gets to choose its Major, and works on their assignments and goes to lectures in order to get the best mark possible.
When you decide that your sim is ready to go to university, there are a number of things you can do. During their time at home, they may have developed a special skill in a certain area, e.g. they may have 8 on their Creativity or Charisma. If you make a phone call before you leave for college, then you may be in for a chance of getting a scholarship...
Good expansion pack but not worth full price
Advantages: Graphics, gameplay, sound
Disadvantages: Far too short, not at all scary
...Having enjoyed F.E.A.R. I was looking forward to the new missions in this expansion pack and they didn't disappoint.
The mission themselves are very much in the style of those in F.E.A.R. with less reptition when it comes to the buildings. Unfortunately perhaps the reason for this lack of repetition is the fact that the expansion pack is very short, much shorter than I was expecting especially consider the price it was sold at. Luckily for me this expansion pack was borrowed from a friend so I wasn't too disappointed.
There are both new enemies and new weapons i.e. minigun, laser gun etc. The new enemies however don't require you to use the new weapons, there's really nothing about them that pushes you in any way which is different to F.E.A.R. The graphics are good but I've heard they're not as good on the 360, whether this is due...
By far the best expansion!
Advantages: Adds a lot to the game, speeds it up
Disadvantages: A bit buggy at the moment
...appealing to all personality types. Finally, like in real life, there really is something that everyone can enjoy.
Before we get on to the hobbies and the new things they bring, let's start at the basics. As with most expansion packs, a new neighborhood is there for you to play in if you so wish - and for once, it's a neighborhood I'm really happy with! I have a very hard time with lots, I can never seem to find any that are just the right size for my Sims. But the game brings along several new lots, and I have found one that is perfect for all of my families. In particular, I'd been having extreme difficulty finding a lot under 20K thats well suited for a family of 4 - and finally, they have one! And of course, it brings along many Sim families already living there, all with stories to tell and play out if you choose to do so. Personally, I...
The Sims Hot Date (Expansion Pack)
Advantages: New opportunities to do new things.
Disadvantages: Annoying sound quality, sim talk
...This is an excellent addition to the classic sims games, this is the expansion pack following the 'sims 2', 'sims living it up' and 'sims house party'.
However this game needs any of the following games to work properly otherwise it does not come with the basic Sims requirements; The Sims, The Sims Deluxe Edition or The Sims Double Deluxe Edition.
The Sims Hot Date provides the Sims with more social outlets, and many more different ways of interacting with each other. It also offers 150 more items which can be bought in buy mode, and also there are many more options which can be used in build mode.
The best new feature in this game is the fact that the sims can the leave their home areas, to spend time 'downtown'! This makes the game much more exciting and gives the sims the chance to do extra things.
For example they can...
A huge expansion
Advantages: huge expansion, new enemies, weapons, armour and items, great environment, outstanding plot
Disadvantages: may crash too often, most of the characters are stupid
...Oblivion was certainly the best Role Playing Game I ever played. The first official expansion to the game was Knights of the Nine which added only another faction and a few quests supported by a few characters and a villian who was not too impressive either. But the second expansion was one of the best expansions ever released for any game. Oblivion itself was a very big game with a huge world, and Shivering Isles expansion makes it even bigger. This explains why Shivering Isles take lots of more space than Knights of the Nine. Everyone who has played Oblivion would want to play this expansion too, or may try the Game of the Year Edition with all these included.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Microsoft Windows XP/2000/2003
512 MB of System RAM
2.0 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
8x DVD-ROM Drive
4.6 GB free Hard...
The expansion pack expanded my horizons
Advantages: makes the games look better
Disadvantages: expensive, a little cheeky by nintendo
...When the expansion pack was released i paid little attention to it and felt as if it was a mere scam by nintendo to get more money out of us. I still feel that nintendo could have done more to make this upgrade cheaper or changed the cartridges. However, with games such as donkey kong 64, which was how i came about my expansion pack i did put some value into this extra as it did enhance the graphics and gameplay of a super game in its own right. Certainly not perfect by far but it does have its uses, and including it with dk64 was a good idea.
