...Why Microsoft would release another web browser when they already have a quite competent product on the market (in the form of Internet Explorer) was beyond me so I though I would download MSN Explorer and see what its all about. The answer turned out to be quite simple. MSN Explorer is simply Internet Explorer integrated with other Microsoft services such as Hotmail. They haven’t had to do much development on it because it is just Internet Explorer with a different front end and it provides Microsoft with an excellent marketing tool for its other services. MSN Explorer provided a very colourful interface that can be customised to your tastes. If you use Hotmail and MSN a lot then you will probably prefer this to Internet Explorer. ...I found out about MSN Explorer from friends who are very familiar with computers and the Internet. I am very glad now that I took their advice and downloaded the software. MSN Explorer is a very different type of browser. It runs alongside, MSN Messenger and Hotmail. Both of these products are included n the software. There is a easy use toolbar with, Home, E-mail, Online Buddies, People & Chat, Money, Shopping and Music buttons. The buttons take you quickly to where you want to go on the MSN web network. It is very handy and easy to use. However, there is a problem, MSN Explorer is designed from use in the USA. You can still use it if you come from UK, but the Money and Shopping buttons have no real use (you are taken to American Sites). ...After getting fed up with my Microsoft Intellimouse (standard), as the dirt hindered the use of the mouse, I decided to upgrade to the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer at a cost of £30 from buy.com with a voucher, its has an "optic eye" which enables it to work without any inner ball. After a years worth of testing all I can say is that it is excellent, it is fluid, never becomes clogged up with dust, and looks really cool with its silver case and red optic eye. It works really well on all surfaces excluding glass. Included in the box is the mouse, a ps2 adaptor(which therefore allows you to use either usb or ps2), basic manual and a installation cd to tweak the settings of the mouse, The only criticism I have towards the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, is that it is only for right handers only, the colour begins to fade over time... ...I came to use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer not by choice but because it was pre-installed when I got my new PC with Millennium Edition Operating System. Having heard during the last couple of years how bad Explorer was and how unstable it could be I wasn’t very happy about it being pre-installed but as all of my choices of computer had it in place I had to use it. I didn’t quite approach Explorer as a newbie because of my experience with the three browsers that I used on the Amiga. But an out and out novice wouldn’t find it all that difficult to browse around and would get used to the basic functions pretty quickly. If Explorer had been bad in the past it certainly wasn’t now. ...I just downgraded back to Internet Explorer 5.0. I had nothing but problems with 5.5 There are many sites that do not support 5.5 and in Hotmail (Microsoft's own email program) I could not reply to an email. I would start replying, type a lengthy email averaging about 3 minutes before the entire Internet Explorer would just shut down. I went back to 5.0 and am having no problems whatsoever. I guess they'll fix these bugs soon, and it will probably be better than 5.0 in the long run. Other than that IE is the way to go.... Read review

...The Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer is probably the best piece of kit I have bought for my PC, mainly due to the excessive amounts of gaming I do. Unlike conventional mice, the Intellimouse uses an optical beam which scans the surface beneath the mouse 1500 per second and creates perfectly smooth movement. No more mouse balls getting stuck, or wheels getting clogged up with dirt and dust. The optical beam works on virtually any surface perfectly. ...I have been using Internet Explorer version 5.01 now for about 3 months having updated version 5 from the windows update page. My father-in-Law has been using Netscap Navigator and I have been trying to help him as he is new to computing. On the whole I find Netscape unnecessirily complex for the average user and my Father-in-Law canot find his way round it very well. After a serious system crash we had to wide his whole system and he is nowusing Internet explorer and he is getting on much better. I am also able to help him as he is using the same system as me. ...Why is it every time a new explorer comes out, that i think it will be better????, as IT NEVER IS!!! I wouldnt recommend anyone to use it as it causes allsorts of problems and is always unstable.It easy to use when its working properly, however this isnt usually for long and as soon as you try to do anything out of the ordinary its a nightmare!!, such as games, etc.It just cant cope. It freezes your screen and performs various illegal operations, which all end up crashing your comp and you needing to restart. I would have thought by now Microsoft could have got their act together. If you can use an alternate browser, as any would be more reliable!!!... Read review

...I was given this program by a friend to try, after he promised that it was fantastic. I tried it out and wondered what he saw in it. The program is basically a replacement for Windows Explorer, but it has a Windows 3.1 File Manager feel to its design and control. Most - if not all - of the features it has are already available in Windows Explorer, such as direct access to FTP sites within the program. One good thing I can think of is that it allows you to split the screen to manage your files, so you can have you CD-ROM drive in one pane, and your hard disk in the other pane.
