Impressed by Holiday Inn Express!

Advantages: Cheapish, comfortable, clean and new
Disadvantages: on a ringroad - but not a problem really

...This was my first ever experience of a Holiday Inn Express Hotel, but having stayed at this hotel recently I am sure I will be using this chain again. I found the Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham to be excellent value for money,very clean, well situated and with all the elements for a peaceful and agreable overnight stay. Location: The hotel is situated right in the centre of Cheltenham, a town which is on the edge of the Cotswolds and an agreable destination in its own right. The hotel was easily found being opposite "The Brewery", a new food and retail development that is well sign posted. The building is very new looking and plastered white - the Holiday Inn Express new logo makes it easy to spot. The Hotel had a small sign displayed at the front of the Hotel window advertising rooms from ninety nine Pounds per room per night. Regarding the Hotel's location the nearest tube station is West brompton station which takes around ten minutes to walk from the station to the Hotel, or Fulham broadway is around fifteen minutes away. The Hotel's immediate location is also close to South Kensington. Therefore Hotel visitors are treated to a great array of shopping malls in Fulham and high streets that surround the area. ...The Express by Holiday Inn hotel in Glenrothes is one I have stayed in a couple of times, when visiting the Fife area of Scotland. Located on the outskirts of Glenrothes, the hotel is situated in a quiet location, set back from the road, with ample car parking. The hotel has two floors with 49 rooms. All the rooms are non -smoking. On entering the hotel, the reception area is small but adequate, as this is one of the smaller hotels in the chain, but it does feel quite cosy and friendly. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful and I have never had any problems checking in. There is a dining area just behind reception and this is where you go for breakfast, which is included in the price. Entry to the room is by swipe card. Advantages: Reasonable price, friendly staff, clean public areas and rooms
Disadvantages: Basic room, continental breakfast, on main road

...I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend in November 2008. The hotel itself is located on the High Street which is a busy main road running through Stratford. It is approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. There is a lot of construction work taking place in the area, but I did not hear any noise at all. As you enter the hotel there is a tidy and modern reception area with a seating area, bar and dining area to the rear. The reception staff are extremely friendly. Access to the rooms is available via one of two lifts. You need to use your room keycard to make the lifts work. The rooms are smaller than those you get in normal Holiday Inn hotels, in keeping with the Express brand. However, the twin room I received was extremely clean and fresh. A small open wardrobe was provided along with tea and coffee facilities...

We were meeting two of our Ciao friends and wanted somewhere near central Aberdeen. Location: Chapel Street, off Union Street; the main thoroughfare of Aberdeen, with The Bon Accord Shopping Centre and various pubs, eateries and lots of little side streets with exclusive shops. ...I had the 'pleasure' of having a 4 week stay at the Holiday Inn Express recently whilst on an airline training course. It's one of two hotels near the airport, the other one being the awful Ibis. So if you need a hotel due to an early or late flight this is probably your best bet. Location: It's a quarter of a mile from Luton Airport and 1 mile from Luton Airport Parkway train station. There is a shuttle bus that goes from the station to the airport every 10 minutes or so and it goes past the hotel, there is a bus stop just outside. A taxi to Luton Parkway if you do not want to use the free bus is around £4. First Impressions: It's a nice modern looking building, with 'Holiday Inn Express' clearly marked on it. Lichfield Holiday Inn Express.

Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: High price.

...I have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions. It is fairly expensive but the price does include breakfast in the morning. It is cheaper at the weekend than it is during the week. The rooms are very clean and fresh and all have an en suite shower room. Each room also has a tv, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and an alarm clock built into the tv. In the shower room you get a shower, sink and toilet. They provide you with 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels. The soap is provided in wall mounted disensers and is made by Dove. I stayed in a double room with a comfortable double bed, a small sofa, a desk and a chair. The location is just outside Shenstone near the Wall island. There is a McDonalds next door but any noise from there you cant hear as the room is double glazed. There is also a leisure centre/health spa...
