...Well?I've done The Office Series 1, 2 and Xmas Special. I've done Extras series 1. I've dried up on Gervais/Merchant sitcoms?that is until last Monday, when the 'critically acclaimed' second series of Extras arrived in our shop windows. Any good though? You bet! Series one saw Gervais manage to get the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Stiller, Patrick Stewart, Kate Winslet and of course Les Dennis to appear in a comedy about an television extra, Andy Millman (played by Gervais) who's a desperate man, doing whatever it takes to get himself noticed. At the end of the series, he'd successfully written a script about a workplace with an annoying boss (yes?the link with the Office is apparent) that the BBC had commissioned. Extras with extras

Advantages: funny
Disadvantages: none

...When Ricky Gervais finished 'The Office', he was in an interesting position; dozens of Hollywood stars and British favourites were asking him to include them in his next project. The unprecedented success of his show meant he was in a powerful position, and one he used well. Extras is a sitcom about (wait for it) film extras. ...Another dry comedy written by and starring Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervaise (the talent behind The Office). Ricky Gervaise plays Andy an actor that only gets extra parts in films alongside famous actors, until he finally gets his own slapstick comedy show in the later part of series 2. Stephen Merchant plays his not very good agent his only other client being 'Barry' from Eastenders. Stephen Merchant is extreamly funny and the best character in the show in my opinion. There is a famous actor in every episode from Kate Winslet and Orlando Bloom to Daniel Radcliff and Robert De Niro. One of the most publicized and controversial episodes was when Daniel Radcliff played a rude horny teenage actor and the media thought it wasn't suitable for 'Harry Potter' to be playing that role as his young fans would watch him in this episode...

Extra funny

Advantages: Brilliant.
Disadvantages: Can seem unbelievable that Andy would put up with his useless agent and friend.

...This brilliantly funny comedy tells of a failing 'actor', Andy Millman (Ricky Gervais) attempting to work his way up from a lowly extra to a fully-fledged actor. Unfortunatly, his agent, Darren Lamb (Steven Lamb) is grossly incapable and spends much of his time trying to get Andy's jobs given to 'Barry off Eastenders' (Shaun Williamson). Andy is always accompanied by his friend, Maggie (Ashley Jensen) who is infuriatingly stupid. Each episode features a celebrity, basically making fun of themselves. One episode shows Chris Martin turning up for a 'Save Africa' campaign and asking for the slideshow to contain an advertisement for the new Coldplay: Greatest Hits album instead of dying children. Another features Orlando Bloom incessantly boasting of his popularity with women, his good looks and supposedly sensational kissing technique...

Gears of War 2 - basically just a few extra levels

Advantages: Great fun to play, high detail graphics, some good ideas
Disadvantages: Almost exactly like the first gears of war

...Gears of war 2, what's changed? Gears of war 2 is a third person, futuristic, blood thirsty, shoot 'em up. Featuring very high detailed graphics and great sound effects. The game starts with the lead characters Marcus and Dom from the original Gears of War. But this time you are joined by a new recruit, Carmine and a time served badass Tai. Just like the first Gears of War you again have the option to 'get straight into the fight' or start with a tutorial styled first level 'Show the trainee around'. After a quick reminder of how to use your weapons and controls, you jump straight into the fight. The story-line seems very similar to the first gears of war, I don't want to spoil it, but it seems the humans have been fighting for years. The enemy 'locusts' are back, they somehow survived the WMD from the end of the first gears...

Extra, Extra, read all about it!

Advantages: Suitable for vegetarians, low in calories, good breath freshner.
Disadvantages: Can cause laxative effects!

Modern Warfare 2 - Fun but not Fantastic

Advantages: intriguing gameplay, flawless sound/graphics, rolling storyline
Disadvantages: anti-climax, little repetitive, nothing really new to catch onto

...The hype was wild for Halo 3, it continued for the anticipations of Halo Wars and many were disappointed. Hype was given for Gears of War and that continued for Gears of War 2 and many were disappointed. Likewise Call of Duty was bound to reach a similar anti-climax and so far it has. The overall conclusion is that is fun but not fantastic. However it is important to note that unless you are the stereotypical gamer who has his own gaming chair complete with a surrounding of cookies, crisps, full fat cola, a headset and the limited edition of Halo 3's Spartan mask, likiness is you won't find the game at all a let down. Afterall Infinity Ward are possibly the only people to construct a war-time gaming experience that steers well clear of clichés which removes the unbelievable characters who would look more in place in a Marvel Comic strip...

Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 is the best in the seires so far
