Stand out - 'Shine'
Review of Miss Selfridge Eyecream by
vickymartin
Advantages: It glitters and shines elegantly
Disadvantages: I can run off when you sweat
...I first bought Miss Selfridges eye creams about a year ago, and when I first got them I thought they were nice colours and they looked pretty cool. They give your eyes tremendous lift so if your having a low droopy day then you can count on these eye creams to give you a complete lift. They shine and glitter - but not so that it looks tacky, and they make you stand out against a crowd!!
A little hint - if you do have eyecream, and dream of dramatic cheek bones then add a touch of a light coloured eye cream over your blusher on top of your cheekbones and you will notice the change.
I love this eye cream I think its spectacular!!
There is a down side in that with it being a cream if you go out clubbing and sweat a lot the cream tends to run off, I combat this by putting a layer of pale eye powder underneath and I find that the eye...

Excellent Eye Cream at a reasonable price
Review of Avon Anew Instant Eye Smoother by
Musicbox
Advantages: Non greasy, easily absorbed
Disadvantages: None!
...Avon Anew Instant Eye Smoother. This Avon eye cream says it will smooth out the fine lines around the eyes, and make the skin feel generally better. A pea sized amount goes a long way, and the result is lovely. It goes into the skin quickly and evenly and leaves the skin feeling velvety with no greasy or sticky residue. This is one cream where you can actually feel exactly where you have applied it! I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I would not say I look years younger, but I would say that the lines around my eyes do not look so defined. To be honest it leaves your skin feeling so good, I tend to use it around my mouth and cheeks too! I wonder if they do a face cream with the same formula! This one is well worth getting....

Less is more
Review of Clinique Daily Eye Benefits by
kxa97
Advantages: Good quality cream that goes a long way.
Disadvantages: too heavy for some skin types and packaging would be better in a tube.
...This is in general a good quality eye cream. However, it is of a heavy consistency and so take care on how much to apply. Generally, the amount equivalent to a grain of rice is sufficient for both eyes. Apply sparingly. Dot the cream under the eye area with your wedding ring finger and then pat, not rub, the cream gently as pressure will harm this delicate eye area. Applying too much of a cream of this consistancy will prove to much and you will do more harm than good.
One problem though is that this cream comes in a jar, not a tube and as such is subject to any germs that may be on your fingers. The packaging would be much better in a tube as not only does it remain germ free but also makes it easier to get the right amount of cream on your finger tips.
Not bad, reasonably pricey, one of the better ones on the market. Those who...

Miracle or Myth
Review of Avon Anew Instant Eye Smoother by
wulise
Advantages: Moisturises the skin aroud they eyes
Disadvantages: Avon's claims about this cream do not work on my skin
...Avon's Anew Instant Eye Smoother is one of the few Avon products, which does not meet up to its claims, in my view. I find that the cream does nothing but moisturise the sensitive areas around my eyes. The brochure claims that 'fine lines and wrinkles look less immediately after application'. Personally, I did not notice any difference with my skin tone.
A small amount of white cream is best applied with the fingers. Massage the eye area with gentle circles, around the eye socket. Start at the top of the eye at the brow, (by the nose) and use gentle but firm pressure in an outward motion. Bring the fingers gentle round the socket until the reach their starting position. Pause briefly to help drain the sinus. This massage ensures the cream is rubbed into the skin, whilst providing a welcome relief for a few minutes, stress free. Try...

Wake Up Tired Eyes
Review of Boots No 7 Time Resisting Day & Night Eye Care by
tac20
Advantages: Fun packaging, easy to use, visible results, Hypo-allergenic
Disadvantages: Expensive, occassional blockages
...I think what first attracted me to this product was the packaging. I realise that sounds incredibly fickle, but it really is a fun concept. I also heard about this product through a member of my family who uses it regularly. Both the day and night creams come within the one container and then are separated in their own tubes with a different plunger on top for each. A practical advantage of this is that the user can check that they are using each cream equally due to the transparent material the main body of the container is made from. But the fun aspect is that it feels like an expensive product: it feels like you are using something of quality every time you press the plungers.
Boots' No. 7 Time Resisting Day & Night Eye Cream claims to soothe puffiness and reduce fine lines by 25% in just two weeks. I was highly sceptical...

Clinique Eye Cream
Review of Clinique Eye Cream by
starlet23
Advantages: Reduces pufiness
Disadvantages: Bit expenses, not great on the dark circles
...I love most Clinique products and as I have problems with pufiness and dark cirlces around my eyes in the morning I decided to try this product.
I found it just a wee bit too expensive for the size of the jar, although a little does go a long way.
I found it to have a good but no a great effect (think I was looking for miracles). My eyes were definatley less puffy in the morning but I noticed little difference to the dark circles under my eyes.
I decided to continue with this product and see if the effect improved but unfortunatley it did not.
Overall, I think the cream is ok but I also think there are far cheaper ways of reducing puffinees around the eyes.
Not sure I would reccomend this product...

The eyes have it
Review of Simple Eye Zone Cream by
scattyspaniel
Advantages: Well priced, does what it says on the tube
Disadvantages: None
...Simple Regeneration Defending Eye Cream is a very attractively priced eye cream that is easily absorbed into the skin and gives a gentle ‘lift’ to the eye area.
PRICE AND PACKAGING
Approximately £4.50 for 15ml. Basic white and green packaging.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS EYE CREAM?
The Simple brand has a reputation for being particularly good for people with sensitive skin. It is dermatologically approved and does not contain any unnecessary additives. It is also totally perfume and colour free.
Although I do not have particularly delicate skin, I do not believe in spreading more chemicals onto this delicate area than is strictly necessary. I choose not to spend a lot of money on skincare products, so this new eye cream from Simple appealed to me
Prior to trying this eye cream I had used another one manufactured...

Eye don't have any wrinkles........
Review of Nivea Visage Anti-Wrinkle Q10 Plus Eye Zone Creme by
backstreetwoman
Advantages: It works!
Disadvantages: None
...I have used cream around my eyes since I was 22, when a free sample of moisturiser for the face came through my letter box. Although it wasn't meant for the eyes, as a one-parent family I couldn't afford special eye creams, so I considered this to be the next best thing. I felt that I was helping to ward off those tell-tale lines that can appear around the eyes at even a young age. Of course, I didn't really notice any difference as I didn't have any lines then.
That was in the early 70's.........now, in the year 2002, after having used eye creams regularly all those years, I only have a couple of lines around my eyes, visible only when I laugh or smile. I like to think the lack of lines is because of the constant use of eye cream. (Yes, I did start using proper eye creams by the time I was 24!)
Over the years I have tried many...

I Spy With My Little Eye
Review of Lush Enchanted Eye Cream by
miss_motivator
Advantages: Does what it says in most respects
Disadvantages: None that I can come up with
...Enchanted Eye Cream!
It certainly had a nice ring to the name!
I have never been one to generally use an eye cream as part of my daily beauty routine.
However, one day I was noticing that the skin around my eyes didn't look as healthy as it used too.
Also I was developing dark circles around my eyes.
Don't get me wrong, my eyes didn't make me look as though i'd just stepped out 'Return of Living Dead' film set, but it was enough to make me notice at least!
I wasn't smoking anymore, and I was getting the correct amount of sleep.
I wasn't sure if an eye cream was what I needed, afterall could it just be 'life' having its toll on me.
For the sake of a few quid I was going to see what would fix me up.
This cream came with the bold statement that it is 'Pure, simple, refreshing, moisturising and minimises fine lines)
The cream comes...
